Honestly? Its a good shape on you and like others say, you look good in everything but it is very like the Portobello dress and i have to say that I am not sure about the colour. Its a lot paler than I had though. I thought it would be slightly more on the lilac side.

Dave the colour is pretty and you of course look very nice in it. It is very creased though - I can't believe they sent it out like that! Would you be able to post another pic when it's straightened out a bit?
It's a pretty dress and I guess you'd at least get lots of wear out of it on your holiday. Personally I think the blue bay dress would have more potential' wow factor' - I know what you're saying about a bra but you'd be amazed at strapless bra options in Primark these days!
Maybe mulling it over is wise.. I think if I haven't worn something at least once in 3 weeks after buying it it's probably not worth keeping.

DavetheCat2001 · 05/06/2018 18:36

Good advice..thanks all x

Laska5772 · 05/06/2018 19:13

I like it Dave and love the colour but I am wondering if you actually need the 6? ( assume that is the 8?)

I didn't wear any Hush to work today,
Seasalt linen dress and Moshulu Silver slides ( like the Hush Woodstock only not such chunky soles)

Anyway .I came a cropper! Fell UP the steps at work , ( like I had never been there before?) and I think I've broken a toe! if not actually broken very badly bruised ! Really swollen up .. SadAngryBlush

Right now I am wearing a very pained expression, the pink Cest si Bon sweat and Boden leggings

DavetheCat2001 · 05/06/2018 19:49

Ouch Laska...you should go and get that checked out. My sister has recently discovered she has a broken tow after running on it and walking around a festival last weekend, and only going to A&E after her foot swelled up and she couldn't walk.

Yes I got the 8, I think I 'panic bought' as I saw it had gone ooh on the Hush website but was still available on JL (which is ops too now).

I think the 6 is OOS too now.

OH has come home and says he really likes it! I was expecting a 'meh' from him, but he thinks it looks really nice.

I think as I don't really wear pink, it's a bit out of my comfort zone! I have loads of pink shoes and flip-flops, but nothing dress wise!

Will see how it looks without all the creases!

ilovecherries · 05/06/2018 20:12

Ouch, laska. That sounds sore. I’m ok in my contacts, but always terrified I will fall in my bloody varifocals. The edges are never exactly where I expect them to be.

Laska5772 · 05/06/2018 20:22

im going for ice and keeping it raised this evening though its probably too late and hard to keep your foot above your heart unless you are a synchronised swimmer!

FabulousUsername · 05/06/2018 22:04

Laska I hope the toe is okay. Ouch!

SoyYo & cherries thank you for the comments re: jeans, I'm going to perservere. I'm really loving my Hush t shirts and jackets, they are perfectly smart-casual for my (very casual) office. I might order a few different styles of jeans from the website to try. Somehow I'm taking this as a personal challenge! But I tend to have a smaller waist and curvier hips so I'm not expecting miracles.

Dave the pink dress looks fabulous!

I wore the Alanis on holiday last week and it was perfect at a bar in hot, humid weather. Getting nostalgic now!

Ellapaella · 05/06/2018 22:30

@FabulousUsername I have the star frayed boyfriend jeans and find them true to size but the waist does seem to get bigger after wearing only 2 times after washing, so there is some give in them. I would probably personally try sizing down next time just to see if a size down is a better fit for me. I don't have a particularly slim waist but I don't have hips - I am very straight up and down if that makes sense and find the jeans fit well on me. I also have a very flat bum (although it's wide and I have to size up in underwear and take a size bigger in knickers than I do in trousers strangely). I don't know if that's helpful for you or just a bit rambley!

Ellapaella · 05/06/2018 22:48

These are the star jeans. I have bought the belt now to wear with them as they have stretched a little bit around the waist (mostly only noticeable after a couple of wears after washing).

Never I'm another lchf bootcamper and if I can do it then anyone can, I did Atkins many years ago when my kids were younger and once I was seeing results there was no problem adapting what they were having to low carb. I only stopped when I suffered a spinal injury and had to do months of hospital food.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/06/2018 23:57

Thanks seafour but i'm thinking its not for me. Am still doing the 5:2 and have cut sweets out for 3 days now. Will also use some of the diet ideas from the low carb diet but i know as a WOL its just not going to be meSmile

Well my op went on for 4 hours wmd one of the fibroids weighed more than four kilos. I can see the difference already. Now I’m worried me clothes won’t fit andive thrown everything away!

FabulousUsername · 06/06/2018 07:02

Each Shock wow! Look after yourself & focus on healing, clothes can come later! Hope you're feeling OK.

Ella thank you for the pic of the star jeans, that's exactly the look I am trying to achieve. I have ordered those & the dark wash boyfriend jeans from John Lewis (in 14, I want a loose fit and not a challenge) so I'll be trying them on tomorrow. This thread is dangerous!

EachandEveryone · 06/06/2018 07:51

They’ve snipped my bladder so more surgery today!!

lexiewrites · 06/06/2018 08:01

Anyone bought the leopard print v neck tee? I bought it in a size bigger to wear loose/baggy would love to see how others have worn it. Also bought Aries t shirt and love saves the day jumper.

lexiewrites · 06/06/2018 08:03

@EachandEveryone you poor thing, hope all goes well today.

ilovecherries · 06/06/2018 08:19

each, you poor thing. I hope today goes well then you can get on with a straightforward recovery.

ilovecherries · 06/06/2018 10:49

Not hush, but thought I’d ask here first, may start a new thread later if I feel brave enough. Can any of you give me some advice/pointers as to what I need to carry this off. As you know, I have severe alopecia and a shaved head (actually not looking TOO bad at the moment as I’ve had some recovery so have a light dusting of Velcro fuzz over most of my head). Hairline is shot though. Anyhow, although I love wigs and find them very comfy, no way I am wearing them abroad in 35+ heat. My husband (bless him), thinks I look hot with a shaved head, so no worries there, and I do sometimes go out without hair in the uk. Never at work as it distracts people, but I will pop to the shops etc without hair if I feel like it. However, I do need to be careful not to look ill - so while no hair is an option, no hair and no make up really isn’t.

So to get to the point (yes, there is one!), can anyone suggest any of the following:
Great sunglasses that will work with a bald head
Cheapish holiday bling esp earrings and necklaces - prefer white metal to yellow.
Small cross body bag in a summer colour
Hats (not the caps sold charmingly as ‘cancer hats’, and not baseball hats because of the ear issue when there is no hair)
Sunscreen for scalps (anyone with a bald DP? Mine is but because of a previous pre-cancerous lesion on his scalp, never takes his baseball hat off on holiday, so doesn’t use sunscreen on his head)

You all know the entire contents of my wardrobe, I’m 5’7 and size 10-14 depending on store. Huge boobs. I would say my build is medium to large, I’ve never been petite even in my very slim days. I’m looking at myself in my holiday clothes and without hair I know I need something to pull the look together, but I’m hopeless at identifying what. I could easily go out and spend 50 quid in accessorise and still wouldn’t look right. Please tell me what I need!

Ellapaella · 06/06/2018 11:06

Cherries I am a bit of a sun cream fanatic due to my previous pre cancerous lesion on my chest. I have done a fair bit of research and the best sun screens are usually the cheaper own brand ones from the supermarkets. All the expensive ones tend to have less stars on the UVA/UVB protection despite having a high spf. My DH is completely bald and uses an own band SPF 50 with 5* UVA/UVB from Sainsbury's. Sometimes he even uses the sunblock sticks that you get for sports/skiing.
In regards to hats I like a nice trilby hat and have this one from Dorothy Perkins https://m.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/accessories-203537/hats-headbands-3342579/natural-lead-in-trilby-hat-76312166*
Lexie - Cherries has the leopard print tee and rocks it with some white Boden jeans, there is a photo on this thread if you scroll back.

Ellapaella · 06/06/2018 11:07

Oops sorry for all bold print! Not sure what happened there!

DavetheCat2001 · 06/06/2018 11:07

Each take care of yourself, hope you feel better soon.

SoyYo · 06/06/2018 12:24

Dave I have to say now it’s ironed it looks really pretty! What a dilemma! I don’t want to enable but it does look fabulous on you!

each hope you’re over the surgery nightmare and on your way to full recovery very soon Flowers

laska is that toe any better today? If not go see your GP, sounded quite nasty...
