Mother of groom dress; keep or return?

mumblechum0 · 06/04/2018 23:55

Bearing in mind:
Wedding is in a Tipi in a field, so I need to wear wedges which I hate, ergo going for a maxi

I know my arms are massive but I’m working on toning them and losing weight

Wedding will be relatively low key, son is only 23 so loads of young people and not many ppl in hats etc.

So my question really is, is it too evening wear-y? Trying too hard?

Honest answers please, I am happy to return it, wedding isn’t till August
TIA

I agree never mind the dress show us your house! ♥️♥️♥️

mumblechum0 · 07/04/2018 13:10

Lol Talith, I would but then i’d have to tidy up 😂

Have decided to keep the green one, but my mate and I are going to Milan next week shopping so i’ll drag her round the outlet shops there.

I’m now going “dress blind”

Sorry, posted on wrong thread!

LadyLapsang · 07/04/2018 13:34

I think you may have started a dark eau de nil trend - the large tin is out of stock!!

gubble · 07/04/2018 14:08

It looks lovely on you but so would a load of other dresses because you have a great figure ..
To me that dress is xmas party , evening only .. not daytime and not tipi 😬

gubble · 07/04/2018 14:10

I don't think the length is the problem , it's the sparkles .

BennyTheBall · 07/04/2018 14:20

The long dress is nice but completely wrong for a wedding in a field - way overdressed.

trigger2 · 07/04/2018 15:52

I love the dress- and the look of your bedroom decor. Come on, give us a tour !

Only slightly jealous.

DairyisClosed · 07/04/2018 15:58

That is very much evening wear.

BamALamA · 07/04/2018 16:21

You look absolutely amazing and yes, wear it for the wedding - but ditch the wrap. It'll get annoying for a start but most importantly, you have nothing to hide.

I'd be dead proud if my mum wore this for my wedding.

Jon66 · 07/04/2018 17:09

Actually as midi is so in at the mo, and its such a fab dress on you, taking it up to a long calf length would be a great idea.

mumblechum0 · 07/04/2018 17:56

Ive just coma back from shopping, tried this on in JL, and love the fit, length and swishyness but the pattern is too busy. So this dress in a plainish fabric would tick the boxes I think

Thanks Flying, no, it’s too dark and too busy but I’ve just found this which I love and hope it isn’t too eveningy

That monsoon dress is absolutely perfect - good job

JessicaJonesJacket · 07/04/2018 21:51

I'd be tempted to get the green dress shortened but since you're going to Milan, I'd wait. There are so many fabulous clothing shops even in some of the outlying little villages.

I am also lusting after your house

Northernlass99 · 07/04/2018 22:48

Yeah monsoon one much more suitable for the event.

Notonthestairs · 07/04/2018 22:50

I think Morning's choice is spot on. But honestly you'll look fab in any of them.

Notonthestairs · 07/04/2018 22:52

Mornings not Morning's Blush

RebeccaCloud9 · 08/04/2018 00:55

Surely Morning's is correct? Or Mornings' depending on where you are abbreviating the name to. But it does need an apostrophe.
