Not yet...Smile

BeMoreKind · 06/04/2018 00:15

I've only recently got slim enough to wear skinnies and this makes me sad. Yes, have heard this season is all about the wide leg. Might as well go and eat some cake Sad

Buy both. I have skinny jeans for when I want to wear them, and wear wide leg trousers a lot, too. Uniqlo us good for both.

Twounder1 · 06/04/2018 00:20

They've been around for over 10 years now and considered 'fashionable' still..

I'm just sick if seeing them now.
But saying that, I can't get on board with the flared bottom trousers Confused

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/04/2018 00:24

I see skinny jeans as a staple item - good for wearing with boots in the rain. I wouldn’t wear them to go out now, though.

The8thMonth · 06/04/2018 00:26

Everyone in Japan has been wearing wide legged, shapeless clothes for a long time... They are quite conservative on how they dress and don't really do anything other than baggy...

Mulberrysilk · 06/04/2018 00:32

Their days are numbered.

Mercurial123 · 06/04/2018 00:42

The8thMonth most people who are wearing them are really stylish the Japanese are wearing them with stripy tops and flatform trainers it looks good. I have both but when wearing skinnies it now just feels really dated.

I think the Japanese dress great, I love love their style. But I think it suits their shape. They tend to be shorter and rounder than Europeans.

If i tried it I'd look like a lanky empty sack.

popularandspirited · 06/04/2018 01:06

No one I know wears them anymore (except for me!) I love them though, and won't give them up

Mercurial123 · 06/04/2018 01:22

Popular love your attitude I feel the same way about my scarves......

What jeans other than wide leg are most people wearing instead then?

DairyisClosed · 06/04/2018 01:48

Skinnies have been over for at least three years now.

Mercurial123 · 06/04/2018 02:31

Dairy people are still wearing skinnies a lot back home until recently or at least in my part of the world. They are so practical in winter, wet weather etc.

the8thmonth that is such total nonsense, the Japanese might be conservative about showing off cleavage but in summer, the shorts and skirts are proper fanny-grazers.

Wide legged stuff has been popular in Asia for a couple of years now, as well as the 90s mum jeans, and these weird ill-fitting things with horrible frayed hems. I have tried it and hated it. You will have to prise my skinny jeans off of my cold, dead corpse.

Dancingincircles · 06/04/2018 02:33

I think my University Town missed the no skinnies memo then, everyone of all ages is still wearing them here, thank god.

Dancingincircles · 06/04/2018 02:36

Glad it's not just me then who's first thought was the exact same Firststep

DrowningEveryDay · 06/04/2018 03:43

I still see them in Australia, but the uni students are all about the mom jeans and wide-legged trousers (mostly the international student) now.

I love boyfriend jeans, which is relaxed, so I guess they're still okay.

beclev24 · 06/04/2018 04:10

can you post a pic of the wide leg look you mean?

Microwavey · 06/04/2018 04:25

Most people I know stopped wearing skinnies a while back (live in an inner urban area of Sydney). Some wear wide leg, some boyfriend, some mum jeans (mainly young uni students in that category), others straight leg but can't think of anyone who has worn true skinnies for at least past few years. I always thought most women looked like Miss Piggy in skinnies, especially when they were paired with high heels, so its a blessing really!

LadyTesticlee · 06/04/2018 05:28

The trendy young students i see wear wide cropped trousers or mom jeans. I think they look awful on short round bodies 😫 skinny is way more flattering on me.

LadyTesticlee · 06/04/2018 05:29

Japaness have a unique sense of fashion and have some weird looks. Skinny might be outdated there but in the UK its still popular and suited for the climate.

Daffodillia · 06/04/2018 05:32

I’be just always worn baggy straight leg jeans. No one has ever commented on them

Dancingincircles · 06/04/2018 10:39

Having lived in Australia I can imagine its a blessed relief not to wear skinnies, too hot and sticky.

I am now going to be way more observant of peoples jeans where I live Grin from a research point of view.

I live in one of the trendiest Cities in the UK on the SE Coast and I swear everyone is still wearing skinnies and I am around Uni students all the time and all sorts of Trendies.

I think that wide legged and Mom jeans are seen as being trendy in magazines etc and therefore not worthy of being followed here iyswim.

We are a stubborn bunch who refuse to be dictated to and are cool in our own unique way.

polkadotdelight · 06/04/2018 10:45
