Just interested to see what everyone buys for themselves and what different clothes budgets people have.

We're trying to have a saving year so my list is pretty boring so far
Navy cowl neck jumper -
Black/ grey jumper -

Both from Dorothy Perkins in the sale at £7 each. Needed warmer work things!
Also need a black dress for work so that's next on my list and had to throw away my beloved black ankle boots so need to replace them too.

Not much so far. A couple of cashmere jumpers in the M&S sale and a silky top from Hush..

Ollivander84 · 18/02/2018 22:19

Started a new job after 12 years wearing uniform! So a fair bit

3 pairs m&s trousers, 2 navy and 1 black (high waisted, skinny and stretchy, I love them)
Skechers flat ballet shoes (SO comfy)
Joe browns heeled shoes (not worn yet)
Woolovers cashmere/merino jumper (recommend, and their customer service is great)
Next striped long cardigan

Tisfortired · 18/02/2018 22:22

I have revamped my underwear drawer! In the bin went the 10 year old knickers and two size two small bras and bought all new bras and knickers.
Very refreshing!

Some straight leg mid blue Moto jeans from Topshop.

A black ribbed polo neck top from H&M.

A velvet black wrap dress with flower pattern from H&M.

A pair of new black patent loafers for work from Next, some black platform suede ankle boots from H&M and a pair of black Vans with a leopard print tongue, absolute bargain from ASOS for £17.

This is not a usual splurge for me, my wardrobe needed a bit of a facelift and I had some Christmas vouchers left! I probably won't buy myself anything in terms of clothes for a while now.

DialsMavis · 18/02/2018 22:23

A French Connection sweatshirt dress from TKMaxx with a Christmas voucher. I am trying not to buy clothes as I am a bit fat at the moment but have an interview coming up so may have to splurge this week.

mimibunz · 18/02/2018 22:24

Blouse on sale from East
Stretch trousers from M&S
Grey twinset from M&S
JuliaBo shoes

The shoes were a bit expensive but at 49 yo I try to invest in my feet!

katplva · 18/02/2018 22:26

I have bought quite a few bits this year, as I lost weight last year and returned to work in January, so that was my excuse! So far:
Navy whistles dress (eBay)
Grey cord white stuff skirt (eBay)
Knee length denim Mantaray skirt (eBay)
White and grey jumper (TwoThirds)
Blue stripy t-shirt (Boden)
Longline teal cardigan (Kettlewell)
Brown ankle boots (Clarks)
Skinny jeans and bootcut jeans (Next)
Navy top (Cos)
This is more than I have bought for a long time, and a lot of these were in the sales (although nowadays it seems like there are constant sales on so there are always temptations.) I'm ok for winter clothes now, but I'm already thinking about clothes for warmer weather and what might he nice for the summer. I'm hoping to wait until later in the year to see what I actually need rather than buy more now, as my bank account is showing the signs of my spending and I need to rein it in now.

FuckyNellYaBastad · 18/02/2018 22:27

A jumper dress and a few tops from all saints

Itscurtainsforyou · 18/02/2018 22:31

Slouchy grey jumper from H&M
3 long vests in navy/red from next
Wide leg jeans from simply be
2x striped tops
Running top

I'm trying very hard to only buy to replace Smile

Argeles · 18/02/2018 22:32

Two printed wrap dresses - Dorothy Perkins

A printed shirt dress - Dorothy Perkins.

Blush pink suedette jacket - Primark.

A striped sweatshirt with French wording - Primark.

An 80’s printed, oversized blouse - Ebay.

coffeeclouds · 18/02/2018 22:37

Don't usually buy so many clothes but after being a sahm for years and moving back into work I have been the last few months. This year so far;

Matalan - two dresses, red jumper, black cardi
Jack Wolfskin - black coat that covers my bum
Clarks - black chelsea boots
New Look - green floral shirt, long checked shirt
River Island - black jeans, black belt
M&s - two tshirt bras, red undie set
Tesco - hat, tights

Next on my list are new handbags and a pair of doc martens as mine are nearly done

LanguidLobster · 18/02/2018 23:02

Navy blue Jaeger dress
Camel wool pleated/skater skirt

They're both really lovely! Off ebay, I have a tight budget this year

myidentitymycrisis · 18/02/2018 23:16

Black Levis - full price
Yellow jumper - new from charity shop
denim shirt dress, black leggings, green skinny jeans - cheap sample shop
grey shorts for easter walking holiday - Primark
knickers - primark
Cos sweatshirt - charity shop
2 swimming costumes -

thats too much, I used to be really frugal, I didn't really need half of it.

Littlechocola · 18/02/2018 23:21

Nothing purchased but have swapped a few items from my wardrobe.

Passthecake30 · 18/02/2018 23:31

5 pairs of trousers from Next Tall and 2 pairs of jeans from long tall Sally. Replacing very worn things in my wardrobe, it's not often that things fit so have to jump when they do.

A bra as my favourite style was on sale.

A pair of red ballet shoes from Next

2 pairs of slippers in the sales (£4 each)

Now need to find some new tops!

Minestheoneinthegreen · 18/02/2018 23:40

Black skinnies, a navy sweatshirt and a grey cross over back top all from DP - the only shop I can buy without needing to try on for size.
Black ankle boots. Wrong :( my beloved ones really need to be replaced and nothing is quite right. Got them in new look about 4 years ago but everything now has a heel that is just wrong.

Mindhunter · 19/02/2018 05:26

Nothing I really need some clothes for work but other things keep taking my money.

EfficiencyDeficiency · 19/02/2018 05:36

I have bought a new coat (NL)
A casual slouchy top (NL)
Mustard scarf (NL)
White trainers with leopard print (Zara)
A printed t shirt (Zara)
Black pumps with a Pom Pom (independent shoe shop)
Black leggings (Joe Browns)
Gym clothes from Simply Be
Black vests (Next)
Handbag- YSL
It was my 40th last month and I got mainly money so treated myself to a beautiful bag.

Need2morehands · 19/02/2018 06:18

Not much yet due to pregnancy and house moves I packed a lot of clothes away that I'm just unpacking now so it's like a new wardrobe for me it's been so long. But I have bought a pink swimming costume from next as Iv been doing baby swim classes and it seemed more appropriate then the pre baby bikinis I have.

chatwoo · 19/02/2018 06:33

@Ollivander84 what style/description are your trousers please, if you don't mind me asking?

Grumpbum · 19/02/2018 06:33

I’m on no spend until Easter, so nothing although I have seen a few bits I like the look of

PNGirl · 19/02/2018 07:35

A red and white and pink Boden breton for spring in the sale, £11.
Grey skinnies from Tu for £15.
Blue skinnies from Primark, £13.
A Fossil crossbody bag, £37.50.
Black trousers from Gap, £20.
Vans hi-tops, £20.
And yesterday, an Ines de la Fressange jumper from Uniqlo for £25.

Diamonddealeroncemore · 19/02/2018 07:37

I am determined to lose weight so I can fit back into the embarrassment of clothes squished into my wardrobe rather than buy new. Having said that, I did buy a few bits in the sales, a gorgeous soft cashmere scarf from Hush which has been super cosy on the school run and some pink DMs which I wasn’t sure about but I’ve had lots of compliments about. I’m sure I will get tempted by summer clothes but I will try and get one or two expensive pieces that will last several years. God I sound old! (I AM old!).

CapricornWithAUnicornHorn · 19/02/2018 07:52

Three pairs of jeans
Two tops
Two long blazers ready for spring
I'm wanting a new handbag as my purse is looking a bit tatty now. So I'll need a new bag if I get a new purse so they match GrinWink

snowgal · 19/02/2018 07:58

I did a no spend year last year, only bought a couple of things so I'm continuing where I can but a lot of my clothes are a bit battered and I think I need a bit of an update..

This year I've bought:
Red Toast jumper
Toast jeans (eBay)
Hush summer shirt dress (collecting this from John Lewis today so it might be going back...)

BillywigSting · 19/02/2018 08:03

A couple of bravissimo bras (so now my boobs are actually where they are meant to be and I'm not getting stabbed by evil stabby wires) and some knickers to go with them.

A dark green hoodie with a shearling lining from lidl on a whim. It's actually a man's hoodie but I absolutely love the colour and its sooooo cosy and warm, I don't think I would have cared if it was totally hideous. (But it's not, just a bit oversized)

Need to replace my black ankle boots too but haven't found any I like so far. I've got really wide calves so Chelsea boots look ridiculous on me

Could do with some long sleeve tops too but clothes budget is essentially nil atm wails
