What clothes have you bought yourself this year?

Just interested to see what everyone buys for themselves and what different clothes budgets people have.

We're trying to have a saving year so my list is pretty boring so far
Navy cowl neck jumper -
Black/ grey jumper -

Both from Dorothy Perkins in the sale at £7 each. Needed warmer work things!
Also need a black dress for work so that's next on my list and had to throw away my beloved black ankle boots so need to replace them too.

OP posts:

ELR three umbrellas! Is that your umbrella quota for the year or are you planning more?

BlueEyedWonder · 19/02/2018 19:10

Topshop straight leg jeans, Topshop black wide leg jersey trousers and 2 Topshop basic T-shirts (£82)
Next tan bobble cardigan and red ankle boots (£74)
Whistles stripe top (£59)
Gap stripe shirt (£23)

Must spend less going forwards!

CountFosco · 19/02/2018 19:16

I have been a lot more restrained than last year when I spent a fortune in the January sales (currently wearing 2 of the things I bought back then).

So far in 2018:
Velvet fronted jumper from Jigsaw that I followed until it was half price in the sale and got the last one in my size.
Black bi-stretch ankle skimmers from The Gap (reduced but that means nothing really) to go with the jumper
Silk blouse by Hugo Boss (from ASOS with my birthday discount)
I just got a linen jumper by Ines de la Fressange for UNIQLO. It's lovely but too long on me so it will probably go back. Quite generously sized as well, so I'd go down a size if I was ordering again.

ELR · 19/02/2018 19:24

hairy 😂 I used to have loads of umbrellas and suddenly they all disappeared so thought I better restock!!

runawaywithme07 · 19/02/2018 19:24

Just a few bits from Sainsbury's in the sale/25% off. I haven't tried any of these on yet so I might not keep them all:

Cream cable knit jumper - £16.50

<a class="break-all" href="https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:OBBcQSszsVcJ:tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Premium-Pearl-Detail-Cardigan/132628326-Cream%3FsearchTerm%3D253AnewArrivals:relevance%26searchProduct%3D+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Pearl detail cream cardigan - £15

Green floral jumper - £15

Grey fluffy pyjama top - £10.50

Shakeyitoff · 19/02/2018 19:26

New pair of boots so far this year and finally threw out my 6 year old maternity pants and bought some new ones from Sainsbury’s.

SoFancy · 19/02/2018 19:29

Nothing in January.

This month:

I saw some nice wedge sandals in a sale last week that will do me for work in the summer months, so bought two pairs (tan, nude) as they’ll see me through nicely.

Today I impulses purchased a couple of lighter coats in sales, too. A light grey wool coat and a camel trench. In readiness for packing my big winter coats away at some stage, hopefully!

Strawberrylaceaddict · 19/02/2018 19:29

Nothing but I’m not really someone who buys a lot of clothes... we get a bonus in March and I usually go for a big shop then

SoFancy · 19/02/2018 19:29

Planning on no more clothes spending for a couple of months now.

Hairydilemma · 19/02/2018 19:36

ELR, well - enjoy! Smile

If your weather today was anything like here you’ve purchased wisely.

MaudesMum · 19/02/2018 19:46

Quite a lot, I'm afraid, as I lost quite a lot of weight last year and am therefore slowly building my wardrobe up again, which I'm doing mainly through sale shopping. So:

Fatface (sale)
Straight leg jeans
hoody

TK Maxx;
stripey tops from French Connection & Jaeger
White shirt from Jaeger
stripey hoodie

Cos (sale)
thin wool v-neck
thin wool jumper with hood

Seasalt (sale)
skinny jeans
cotton jumper

Toast (discount outlet)
cotton sleeveless jumper
silk shift dress

Arket
blue cotton shirt

Uniqlo
very unstructured jersey blazer
pink cowl-necked shirt
long-sleeved plain t-shirt
dark red wool v-neck (reduced)

Duo (sale)
snakeskin ankle boots

elonmusk · 19/02/2018 20:11

Spanx leather look leggings
Suit for work from Claudie Pierlot. Decided to splurge on a uniform for important meetings as I always get myself into a tizz over what to wear.
Green and white Breton from H&M
Scotch & soda cardi (tk maxx)
Cyber jammies (tk maxx)
I need so much more but find it soooo hard to shop these days

HangtheblessedDJ · 19/02/2018 20:20

One pair of shoes for spring/ summer.

itssquidstella · 19/02/2018 21:56

I’ve bought:

Black flat ankle boot size (New Look)
Black jersey skater skirt (ASOS)
Deep blue pleated midi skirt (ASOS)
Three slouchy vest tops: white, black and pink (ASOS)
Peach print pyjamas (ASOS)
Berghaus goretex raincoat (SportPursuit)
Ted Baker leather purse

I really need some new running shoes and yoga gear, so that’s next on my list. Then I’ll need to think about summer clothes!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 19/02/2018 23:09

I'm attempting a no-spend 2018 (apart from necessities, e.g. underwear, or replacements, e.g. ancient leggings) but I had to cancel a hair appointment due to work, so I spent some of the hair money on these which were on sale and which I did actually need (honest!) www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/shoes-sandals-boots/shoes/pasco-soft-suede-leather-lined-shoe_fathom.htm

Tantpoke · 19/02/2018 23:29

LizzieSiddal · 20/02/2018 22:20

Same here Daphne
I spent a lot of money on clothes and accessories last year and have decided to not buy anything until at least April.

I’m really chuffed that I’ve stuck to it and am very much enjoying wearing things I’d forgotten about.
