What clothes have you bought yourself this year?

Just interested to see what everyone buys for themselves and what different clothes budgets people have.

We're trying to have a saving year so my list is pretty boring so far
Navy cowl neck jumper -
Black/ grey jumper -

Both from Dorothy Perkins in the sale at £7 each. Needed warmer work things!
Also need a black dress for work so that's next on my list and had to throw away my beloved black ankle boots so need to replace them too.

I've bought far to much but I've been neglecting myself the past couple of years and now I've started buying I can't stop. So far this year I have bought:
5x bras from Asos in the sales
3x tops again from Asos in the sales
1x dress from the Cath kidston outlet
1x bag from Cath kidston
1x boots from Next
1x pair of black jeggins from New look
3x t-shirts from Primark
1x top from Joules
1x t-shirt from Etsy
1x dress from Joanie clothing and a skirt both from the sales.

And I have my eye on some lovely things from Hush.

Ofitck · 19/02/2018 08:16

I have bought..

A yellow cotton sundress (whistles sale)
A black starry print dress (Bimbo y Lola)
2 x nice cotton t shirts (Cos sale)
Metallic silver jumper (Cos sale)
Navy linen shirt (boden)
Star print jeans (next)
Cotton embroidered top (next)
New pjs (gap)

niceupthedance · 19/02/2018 08:32

A few things in the sales:
All saints cropped hoodie
Whistles white dungarees

White trainers from Sézane as they are smart enough for work and furry boots in the sale from seven boot lane.

Sweatshirt and silky green joggers from Cos.

I love them all.

DollyPartonsBeard · 19/02/2018 08:34

Fantasie bra - eBay £11
Wrap London cardi - charity shop £4
Black cowl jumper - £9 Tesco sale
Grey jeans - £7 Tesco sale
Purple coated jeans - £8 Tesco sale
Rocket Dog ankle boots - £6 charity shop (brand new!)
Black coated jeans - £10 DP sale
Red leather gloves - £6 Accessorise sale
Black heeled ankle boots - £45 White Stuff sale
Red Mipac faux leather backpack - £16 Asos sale (having a red phase right now!)
Strange mustard starry blouse - £6 M&S sale
Mango Violeta skirt (unworn!) - £6 eBay

I think that's it! I'm in a funny place, weight and confidence wise, so haven't bought anything very interesting for ages, sadly.

Undercoverbanana · 19/02/2018 08:51

I did No Clothes Purchases for 2017 so had a bit of a splurge at the start of the year

Replaced back tights (more holes than tights)
Replaced running socks (all disgusting)
Replaced everyday thongs (falling apart)

New, bright scarf from Primark £4.00
3 dresses for work from Boohoo (£6, £8, £12 - all in the sale)
3 X running shoes - desperately needed and much loved. Online sports shop - can’t remember their name but it was a brilliant Brooks sale.
2 high impact sports bras from M&S sale at £10 each.

Pistachiois50pmore · 19/02/2018 08:58

Very little!

Pair of burgundy wool drawstring trousers from COS sale - definitely in the one notch up from loungewear / trackie bottoms category, but comfy and reasonably chic for running errands locally.

Bottle green leather bag with red/blue trim from & Other Stories sale - amazing, bargain and had my eye on this for ages so felt v lucky to catch it in the sale

Cropped trench coat from Arket sale

That's it I think. All things I needed so I feel quite restrained.

I have however set my alarm for the 8am
launch of some new air force ones later in the week Blush

Pistachiois50pmore · 19/02/2018 09:00

I've also just sold an unworn Acne Studios jumper on ebay for the same price I paid for it in the Net a Porter sale last year so I feel ahead!

whifflesqueak · 19/02/2018 09:02

Ugh. Nothing at all.

I rotate the same two or three outfits constantly. I perpetually feel I have nothing to wear.

It’s depressing. I need a better paid job.

Greenteandchives · 19/02/2018 09:03

A floral print dress in the Oasis sale. £10 and I can’t wait to wear it!
A pair of red tights.
A petite size black jumpsuit. I have been looking for one for ages, and finally got this one online

Ragwort · 19/02/2018 09:08

I only buy from charity shops but so far I have found - a Monsoon dress, Laura Ashley skirt, M & S cashmere jumper, couple of other tops. All in beautiful condition and total spend under £30.

And a brand new Next pure wool jacket for DH - half price in a charity shop sale for £4 Grin.

Ollivander84 · 19/02/2018 09:12

Chat - they're getting rid of them Angry but there's some in stock and some in stores
I'm 5ft 10 and the long is full length on me (not ankle grazer!)

Ugh. I have a problem

wetpebbles · 19/02/2018 11:03

Tu 25% off sale ends today Monday 19th Feb!!

Floisme · 19/02/2018 11:07

Yay! maybe I can now sneak in behind bleughhh with my Vivienne Westwood trousers - very end of the sales find, honest.
And a cotton jumper from the new Uniqlo U range.

And then quite a bit of charity shop / second hand stuff - great time for bargains thanks to all those New Year clearouts:
Gieves and Hawkes men's raincoat which I've had altered
John Smedley very fine merino jumper
Cos dress
Max Mara T shirt
Pringle men's jumper
7 For all Mankind flares
Margaret Howell cotton jumper

Thank you Kondo-ers everywhere. Smile

Astrabees · 19/02/2018 11:26

I'm trying very hard to only buy things I really want or need, and not just to spend on clothes every month. So far this year I have bought:
A stripy top in the Toast sale - olive and navy, very useful.
Two T shirts in the Whistles sale, exactly what I need for summer.
A cashmere scarf and matching wrist warmers in Brora sale - a mustard colour that goes with so many of m clothes and deliciously soft.
Some cheap gym clothes from Primark to cover my modesty while I lose the last stone on my diet, when I will have a little splurge at Sweaty Betty.

AnaViaSalamanca · 19/02/2018 11:38

Kept nothing.

A polka dot statement skirt from ganni. Was very excited about it. It was so beautiful too, perfect fit... except that it was completely see through. Went straight back.

I am sure it would be there in the 70% off sales. I won't be interested even then.

phoenix1973 · 19/02/2018 11:44

Pair of next trousers for £5. Good for work and others.
Handbag for £6.50
Grey top with black lace sleeves £6
Per una top £17.50 good for work and rest.
Summer tops from quiz for a fiver each.
Flat ballet pumps £3 primark.
I only buy from outlet stores or in standard sales.
I dont need anything else.

Ellapaella · 19/02/2018 11:49

Too much Blush
Wool stripy tunic from Sainsbury's
Hush star boyfriend jeans
Ugg style boots from Espirit (needed cozy boots for dog walking)
Black side button jumper from Boden in the sale
Long grey slouchy wool cardigan from ASOS
Star pattern longline denim shirt from M & S
Currently resisting the urge to buy some DM's - probably will put this off until the autumn

I'm not buying clothes this year or next year, as I have lots. The only exceptions are underwear, socks, nightwear and shoes (if I really need them).

I have bought one pair of pjs from Primark for £6. I think I will need to be buy socks soon. That's it for the year I hope.

PatchworkElmer · 19/02/2018 12:28

2 pairs of Next jeans
1 work dress (Next)
2 pairs of PJs (Next)
2 pairs of gym leggings (Tikiboo)
