What clothes have you bought yourself this year?

Just interested to see what everyone buys for themselves and what different clothes budgets people have.

We're trying to have a saving year so my list is pretty boring so far
Navy cowl neck jumper -
Black/ grey jumper -

Both from Dorothy Perkins in the sale at £7 each. Needed warmer work things!
Also need a black dress for work so that's next on my list and had to throw away my beloved black ankle boots so need to replace them too.

OP posts:

Spent about £50 in Asda this week cos I've got fatter and nothing fits 😭😭

Plain tops and black trousers and a couple of basic dresses

AnnabelleLecter · 19/02/2018 13:49

John Smedley red merino wool jumper in the sale
Superdry hoody for the gym
Hollister navy top from a charity shop still tagged
A cotton white t-shirt with a skull on - local boutique.
Next buy will be a new pair of ankle boots.

Ollivander84 · 19/02/2018 13:56

I forgot two Pearl and Earl tops Blush

peonylover22 · 19/02/2018 14:54

Well I really thought I had been quite good... BUT on reflection I have bought-
• 2 pairs Next skinny 360 jeans - great at holding in last bit of mum tum.
• Breton stripe jumper from & Other Stories
• Reiss cream silk top (vouchers)
• Jigsaw crimson cowl neck cotton jumper and grey cashmere ribbed jumper (vouchers)
• Fat face lounge wear trousers
• Brora cashmere striped sock and fair isle hand warmers
• Hobbs black Boucle a line mini skirt
• Massimo dutti grey ribbed silk / wool jumper
• Sweaty Betty thermal running leggings, merino running top and yoga top

Blush No wonder there’s no room in my wardrobe....

goose1964 · 19/02/2018 14:57

Oh and I forgot,a red coat from country casuals for a tenner in a charity shop

OCSockOrphanage · 19/02/2018 15:30

So far this year I have bought a grey cashmere sweater, like for like to replace one I've worn constantly for three years.
Navy cotton-cashmere crew neck
Navy and white cotton long-sleeve T-shirts
2 checked flannel shirts, each £8. All these from Uniqlo.

I have bought and returned multiple pairs of jeans, the best of which is being tailored to my specification because they were the last and were cheap in the COS sales. I have another pair (different shape) on order; fingers crossed these fit, but they will have to be perfect as full price!

Planning ahead for summer, I have posh cream trousers to replace sad ones and a taffeta frock for a summer wedding and other party type events. Both came from a triennial sell everything left behind bargain hunt where expensive things I can't afford at full price go for about one-third the original price.

But that is basically it for this year.

2 American vintage cotton jumpers.
American vintage trench coat.
Lightweight down jacket - black.
All the above from Tk Maxx .
2 pairs Vionic ankle boots in sale.
2 pairs Fitflop sandals/trainers in sale.
Amanda Wakeley satin skirt from BrandAlley.
Lace edged vest tops from H&M.
Rather a lot but I just can’t wear uncomfortable shoes any more and the Vionic boots are my new discovery and so comfy.

FucksakeCuntingFuckingTwats · 19/02/2018 15:56

Absolutely nothing at all..I went shopping on Saturday and found nothing at all. Was very disappointing.

Brakebackcyclebot · 19/02/2018 16:03

Nothing. I have resolved not to buy any new clothes for the whole of 2018.

SansaryaAgain · 19/02/2018 16:42

Few cashmere jumpers and Heattech tops from Uniqlo
Leather leggings and miniskirt, pyjamas, and Venice beach dress from Hush sample sale (about £600 of clothing for £180!)
AllSaints Bales biker jacket

LadyFlumpalot · 19/02/2018 16:44

A pretty floaty dress in the New Look Sale. I'm either going to look like a princess or a complete twat. I'm nervous for it to arrive!

CallarMorvern · 19/02/2018 17:14

5 £1-80 cami vests and a scarf from Primark.
Black jeans from Peacocks, as I've lost (!) my favourite ones and 2x polonecks £3 in the sale.
JL socks.
Stripy sweatshirt from charity shop.
Charity shop buys have been thin on the ground this year.

OneOfTheGrundys · 19/02/2018 17:25

Full soft tracksuit lounge stuff from Tesco. DH has heart problems at the moment and we spend a lot of time in waiting rooms.
‘For Life’ DMs. £200 but they’ll replace/mend them forever so that’s fine with me.
A lovely woollen vintage dress from Laura Ashley via ebay.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 19/02/2018 17:28

Only fat person clothes 😳. Something I'm working on so I fit back into all of my old clothes...

bought in Oz:
Lovely long line tunic top
Wide leg flippy sort of material shorts
Swim shorts

In (UK):
Uniqlo lounge pants

Hairydilemma · 19/02/2018 17:32

Mine are quite random!

Ball dress (£59 down from £200

  • Jenny Packham at Debenhams)

Grey shoe boots (£30, Debenhams)

Floral silk top, £50 down from £130 in Reiss.

MirandaWest · 19/02/2018 17:34

I think I’ve bought some tights.

KanyeWesticle · 19/02/2018 17:37

A nautical striped jersey dress, purple bamboo a line skirt, and 5 pairs of pretty polly pants. All from TK max in one blitz.

Rhubarbginmum · 19/02/2018 17:38

1 x Sports bra, 3 new everyday & any occasion bras, 2 x cheap big black black tshirts from New look (for aerobic exercise) and an expensive pair of trainers as didn’t have any and have bad feet.
That’s it until I drop a few dress sizes. Although really need some new knickers and gym socks.

CallarMorvern · 19/02/2018 17:57

Oh...I forgot...new Asics badminton shoes, I'm beyond pleased with them.

bluechameleon · 19/02/2018 17:58

I've just had a baby 2 weeks ago so I've bought really exciting things: nursing bras and massive post-section pants. I also bought a navy spotty hoodie in the h&m sale. Now if you were to ask what I'd bought for the DC the list would be much much longer.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 19/02/2018 17:58

Had a small wardrobe refresh and got

Navy merino Guernsey jumper from Me&Em, lovely biiiig roll-neck with buttons down the side, was £184 but got it for £132 in the sale.

Cream and black striped poloneck in the sale from Me&Em £30 I think.

Black v-neck from Me&Em, sale again, £25.

Jigsaw sneakers (from the other S&B thread, where they were lived or hated), in navy, £98.

Silver slipper style flats, John Lewis £80.

Silk/cotton poloneck in navy from Jigsaw, £90.

Black silk/cotton t-shirt with a collar neckline, Jigsaw £80.

Gerard Darel navy knee-length skirt, reduced in the sale to £78.

And/or straight leg jeans £95.

2 pairs of Wolford opaque deluxe £25 each.

Think that's it. I don't always wear navy, honest! (Although probably wear more than I should...).

Got my eye in a few other bits but will have to wait until next month now. Quite fancy a suede biker and am still searching for the perfect cardigan (grey, slimline boyfriend in a thin knit if anyone's got any bright ideas).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2018 18:06
