Ooooer, those are nice Buster. This thread is just making my trainer wish list longer and longer.

BusterGonad · 22/01/2018 18:53

I know Count if it was pay day I'd order them, I'm going on a long holiday in the summer and I'm buying stuff each month for it, I always wear trainers on my travels, I'm not a sandal fan so these beauties are just perfect for me!

TealStar · 22/01/2018 19:03

Despite being a massive fan of stars and starry embellishments (even my user name reflects this!) I can’t help but think that stars on trainers = can’t take seriously. I bought some of those Ash ones which are sold through hush and thought I looked like a clown going bowling in them.

Personally I love Superstars, Stan Smiths and Vejas. The black Superstars with rose gold metal toes are my particular fave.

Not sure about the shape of the Golden Gooses; just a bit ‘built up’ to me.

Converses are mumsy. Supergas less so (although having seen Kate Middleton wear them, I’m starting to see the sentiment in that!)

Love those gold Nikes that were featured upthread 😍

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 22/01/2018 20:06

Nice buster Smile

PNGirl · 22/01/2018 20:22

I wear black Nike Tanjuns or black and white Superstars most of the time but I do have some very cool 80s-esque Nike Airs and some black and bronze New Balance. I just buy what I like!

Growingboys · 22/01/2018 22:07

Great thread. I tried to start one of these a while ago and was told off for being try hard wanting cool trainers!

Have perved over loads of these and might have to buy some Vejas. But love the Crime London ones too.

Thanks all!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 23/01/2018 20:36

I've ordered some Vejas. Very excited. But I also want the last two pairs linked here too!

BluebellGal · 23/01/2018 21:48

I love my Supergas.

I’m not offended by the mumsy comments I know I’m not coolalthough I am laughing to myself at the irony of this thread on mumsnet Grin just sayin

JoyceDivision · 23/01/2018 21:54

I live in converse!

But I live in authentically knacked up, scruffy ones, not pretend knacked up ones, hence I am retro grunge and totes amazeballs.

Converse is my second skin!

thisisnothappening · 23/01/2018 22:06

Well yes, worrying too much about being cool makes you uncool by default
obvs

Charismam · 24/01/2018 07:48

It can go either way growingboys see last post!!

I know i dress well and im not in need of any validation because of course my style is my own given age height budget taste '^eye'

The thread was meant to be fun and almost every got that thankfully.

Neither of those things should have any impact on what you choose to wear. Can an 18 year old Mum wear those trainers? What about a childfree 50 year old?

Charismam · 24/01/2018 08:09

Yes countfosco, i was thinking that surely beyond the baby stages being a mum is neither here nor there.

I have always liked clothes and fashion and had an idea how i want to look and even when funds were very low i didnt give up.

What does dressing like a mum even mean?

Theonlyoneiknow · 24/01/2018 13:22

where are those hi tops from please @smiledwiththerisingsun ?

MedicinalGin · 24/01/2018 14:45

I am jumping on this bandwagon too after my work ‘relaxed’ the dress code this week- I will have to wear a polo shirt and black jeans from March onwards and I’m really struggling with what to wear on my feet- I’m thinking trainers but I don’t know what colour or anything. I’ve not worn trainers for 25 years! It some of these are lovely.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 24/01/2018 18:21

In a trainer related incident, I've just told dh to fuck off. I bought some pale pink suede Pumas in the sale for our hol at Easter. Not flash, can dress up. He said they are common. In fact all trainers are common. He has never worn them ever, because they are common. At this point the f bomb was dropped (no, he does not dress in anyway fashionably or stylishly. He lives in Cat boots till they fall off his feet)

hettie · 26/01/2018 20:57

smiled I have those very high tops in black. They are lovely and super comfy for my knackered mumsy hips and feet
Theonly they are from Crime London. My youngish/cool hairdresser told me she loved my trainers today (was wearing a different pair). They are Nike air and have an animal print, like the picture but grey animal print and red tick...

Cool trainers! Do I sound like Alan Partridge ?
timshortfforthalia · 26/01/2018 21:12

Op, you need to stop googling and go and try some trainers on.

Trainers are so much about the shape and what you are planning to wear them with. A lovely looking trainer online might look all wrong with the outfits you have described.

CrispyAubergine · 26/01/2018 21:14

Hettie OMG them trainers 👌🏻👌🏻😍

Where are they from !?! I NEED them
