Op asked for edgy trainers. Loads of trianers on here are lovely, or very fashionable, but certainly not edgy. I don't think anything costing £300 can be described as edgy.
I guess I would look at it this way - what would actually edgy people doing avant garde, edgy things (oh I don't know...countercultural icons, punk bands, artist, intellectuals...whatever) be wearing? They would wear the most affordable and ubiquitious trainer because they don't really care.
The only trainers I've ever seen on on such people is Converse or Vans.
Adidas and Nike no matter how lovely, just do not carry the same 'edgy' conotations to me. They became massively popular after Phoebe Philo, LIly Allen, Rita Ora and whoever else started wearing them and suddenly trainers are high fashion and/or mainstream.
And yes, I also think that loads of trainers shown here are emulating old school Converse.
