Does anyone do a 'full face of makeup' every day?

Does anyone actually do this every day? I'm talking about false eyelashes, contouring etc. If so how long does it take you?

I’m worried - I do a full face but it only takes me 10 mins! I wear fake tan and have eye lash extensions permentanty, so I literally do:

Concealer
foundation
Bronzer
Blush
Highlighter
Eyeliner
Lip liner and lipstick.

Lucked · 04/12/2017 21:33

I don't have any make -up skills, I am in the what is cut creasing and baking brigade. Also wouldn't know where to begin with false eyelashes. If I do everything I know how to do it only takes me 10-15 mins. Most days for work I am about 5-7 mins.

paulweller73Murielswedding · 04/12/2017 21:34

I wear foundation, concealer, blushes, eyeliner, mascara and lip tint. Only takes me about 10 minutes. I look better and feel more confident. Well worth the small amount of effort.

crazycatgal · 04/12/2017 21:34

@RoseWhiteTips Because the way that you described people's make-up as 'ghastly' just screamed snobbery to me.

VioletCharlotte · 04/12/2017 21:47

I wear primer, foundation, bronzer, blusher, eye shadow, eyeliner, brow pencil, lip balm and mascara every day for work. Takes about 10 minutes. I don't always bother at weekends.

PollyPerky · 05/12/2017 08:45

I do the full works most days.

foundation
concealer
blusher
mascara
eye pencil
eye shadow
brows sometimes - they don't need much
lippy

Takes me 15 mins. More like 25 if it's for a special occasion and I'm being more careful.

PrincessoftheSea · 05/12/2017 08:51

Never because I don't have make-up skills and think I look better and younger without. I put on a bit of blusher and mascara only. I also find it odd when people use so much make up on a daily basis that you think something is wrong or they are very ill when you see them without it.

Having said that, I really wish I had make up skills for special occasions.

Cakescakescakes · 05/12/2017 08:56

Primer
Foundation
Concealer
Powder
Brow pencil
Blush
Highlighter
Eye primer
Eye shadow x 2
Eyeliner
Mascara
Lip colour of some kind

Looks very very natural but just more even skin etc. Takes about 10 mins.

Tiddlywinks63 · 05/12/2017 08:58

Blimey 😳
I used to use makeup when I worked but rarely bother now, despite having far too much sitting in a drawer. I would if I was going out in the evening but never when at home.
Perhaps I should start before it all 'goes off'?

seefeld · 05/12/2017 09:41

I do the following, takes about 10/15 mins:

Eyebrow pencil to lightly define brows and fill in a gap
Concealer under my eyes and on the red bits around my nose. Blend with a brush and set with a little powder
Highlighter cream or powder, just a little, on tops of cheekbones
Blusher - either a cream blush or a powder
Mascara
Either a tinted lip balm or a sheer nude natural looking lipstick

It’s enough to make me look less exhausted, more put together. A few days a week I’ll also use a tinted moisturizer but it depends on my plans for the day and how good my skin is looking without it. I only really bother with eyeshadow and liner if I’m going out somewhere.

falange · 05/12/2017 09:49

No but there are a couple of women at work who do this and they look a bit ridiculous. It's not just me who thinks this.

falange · 05/12/2017 09:51

By 'do this' I mean the works, false eyelashes, contouring, very heavy make up.

JessiCake · 05/12/2017 09:58

I feel quite inspired reading this actually! I've never worn much (if any) makeup on a day-to-day basis as to me it's always just felt more like something I would/should do for a night out.

By some of the posts on here I don't even wear much on a night out - just highlighter, powder eye-liner, mascara, blusher and nude matte lipstick.

Day-to-day I just wear tinted moisturiser and - if I feel the urger - eye-liner.

However I am in my early 40s now and I am beginning to notice the need to 'perk' my face up so I think maybe the time is coming to wear a bit more on a daily basis.

My skin is still good (as in even-toned) so I don't think I need foundation but is there anything I could use apart from the slightly shimmery highlighter I use for a night out? Just to sort of blur things a bit and give a glow? Also do the experts on here think powder blusher or cream blusher are best for age 40s skin (tbf I do look more like mid-30s - on a good day)?

Basically should I make a bit more 'effort' now I'm in my 40s, is what I'm asking? I enjoy makeup and I do feel better when I do wear it but I suppose haven't 'needed' to until recently - not because I'm a stunning beauty but because my skin's always been good and because I'm a bit lazy and enjoy the time in bed!!

Postagestamppat · 05/12/2017 10:01

Full make up every day except for the false eyelashes and contouring. To be honest the reason is to look younger. I hope to get pregnant again at 42 and am paranoid that people will be gossiping that I'm an old hag.

HeyRoly · 05/12/2017 10:03

I'm genuinely surprised (and a little depressed) that contouring and false lashes are considered a "full face" these days. To me that's excessive, especially for daytime.

Full face IMHO is foundation, powder, blush, mascara (with or without eyeshadow) and lipstick. I used to do that every day, but since getting some brows tattooed on I can just about leave the house bare faced. I mean, I look like crap but at least I don't look brow-less and deranged.

soberexpat · 05/12/2017 10:06

full face every day - no false eye lashes though. if i was being timed i'd say 8 minutes max.

concealor
foundo
powder
bronzer
eyes
lips

easy.

confused123456 · 05/12/2017 10:09

I never wear any makeup at all. Not even on special occasions, not even on my wedding day.

ImogenTubbs · 05/12/2017 10:09

I used to when I worked in an office but my 'full face' was quite light by most standards - foundation/tinted moisturizer and concealer, blusher, mascara and a bit of lip gloss. Took me about 5 mins.

Maudlinmaud · 05/12/2017 10:13

I do a full face every day apart from false lashes. I just can't put them on if I could I would definitely wea them. My eye makeup is quite subtle, I don't smoke it out just do a cut crease. I wear quite bright lipsticks daily.

youvegottobekidding · 05/12/2017 10:42

No, I don't put a full face on everyday. Just enough so I don't look dug up. Although for some occasions (not many) I wish I knew how to put false eyelashes on - I've tried several times & ended up with either glue on my eyelids or the eyelashes on my eyelids - just wrong! And I try to contour, but I still look like a hamster with blusher on.

heron98 · 05/12/2017 11:39

I do foundation, mascara and a bit of eyeliner. Takes me all of 30 seconds.

I would rather look a bit better than my real face than like someone totally different.

RestingGrinchFace · 05/12/2017 11:42

Wow, I didn't realise how much definitions of 'full face' had changed while I've been living under my rock.

Zoomaa · 05/12/2017 11:45

I can't do a cut crease - I end up looking like a lop sided drag queen.

Can anyone link to a video showing an everyday, wearable cut crease?

caoraich · 05/12/2017 11:52

Wow. I thought I was doing a "full face" - I apparently am not!

Tinted moisturiser, concealer, blush on pale days, mascara and lipstick most days is my standard to work. Foundation and eyeliner added if I'm going out in the evening. 10 mins tops.

I do think a lot of makeup can be ageing. I'm 30 and recently started a new job. I found a woman I had presumed was 40ish in the toilets the other week in near tears. She normally does lots of foundation, powder, eyeliner and contouring. This day she'd been to the gym before work, forgotten her make-up bag and was beside herself. The thing was I barely recognised her and she looked at least 10 years younger. Got chatting and she's actually younger than me! Inside I was saying "whyeeeee" but I didn't say anything to her.

Maudlinmaud · 05/12/2017 12:10

Zoomaa there are loads of video's on YouTube, sorry I can't link. The secret to a cut crease is using the right brushes and blending like crazy. Do it with your eyes open. You can do it quite easily with 3 shades.
