I refuse to look at sales on Christmas Day. It is for gluttony, snoozing and TV (we aren't that strenuous today in Lazy towers as you can tell!!).

I have been LCing since May but let the brakes off slightly from last night, which will carry on until Boxing Day - then back on the straight and narrow on the 27th. I had my first chocolate in almost 8 months last night - it was lovely.

TossDaily · 25/12/2017 16:48

Oh my word, all manner of French treats from DP!

Hope everyone had a lovely day.

On top of the De Toujours loot, Toss? Lucky you! How is the Repetto snugly/warmup suit?

Like a true heathen I'm off to murder some live lobsters now Xmas Blush

EnidButton · 25/12/2017 17:35

Glanced at my threads I'm on and just saw bo saying "I do enjoy a bit of porn" and thought "well, that's taken a turn." 😐

I have my first red lipstick. Bobbi Brown lip crush in cherry. A nice starter red I think. Come upstairs to hide try it on and it seems nicest as a stain with clear balm on top. Will have a play around. Like it though, very festive.

EnidButton · 25/12/2017 17:40

Oh and I can't do sales. I can see why many do and I would benefit if I did too but I can't be bothered with the digging around and searching. I don't like the pressure of them I suppose.

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 18:25

What do we think of the black 5050 boots from Stuart Weismann? Was thinking of getting a pair?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/12/2017 18:32

Well guys I'm getting a bit excited as it looks like I might win these eBay HL leather leggings for under £100. Second hand but vgc and in any case I'll then know what size fits best and can invest in a new pair in the future.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/12/2017 18:35

@Rhubarbginn I have them, very nice, smart and comfy but after two winters of wearing them they have gotten a bit slouchy as the leather stretched out, which annoys me. Would I buy them again? Maybe. I'd probably go for ones with a bit more structure if I didn't want to replace after a season.

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 18:43

grumpy I wanted them to be an investment. I have quite slim calfs too. Any other suggestions? I don’t want baggy boots Grin

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 18:44

I was going to get them from Russell and Bromley. I like how they look with skinny jeans.

botemp · 25/12/2017 18:48

Enid Xmas Shock

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/12/2017 18:51

Hmm well I have huge calves so they'd be even bigger on you rhubarb! Not sure what to suggest but perhaps a harder leather, more riding boot style? Agree that SW is overpriced vs the quality

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 18:51

Do you have any other suggestions Bo. I really like the flat otk boots to dress up jeans etc with a cashmere sweater but still comfortable to wear.
I’m slim with longish legs and want something different then ankle boots.

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 18:53

I’m also trying to find a red/tomato merino wool/cashmere round neck slim fit sweater. Similar to the Bella Freud ones but without the logos. A nice quality one that will last Smile

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/12/2017 18:53

I have the suede wedge version too rhubarb and haven't had the same issue, maybe the suede is better at staying up for some reason?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/12/2017 18:56

What about this for the red jumper??

www.net-a-porter.com/product/973701

botemp · 25/12/2017 18:59

I'm not a big fan of them over jeans as they cut your leg really unflatteringly unless it's black on black or similar.

I like Laurence Dacade for OTK boots but they're a bit harder to get hold of and I'm not sure if there's a lot of flat OTK usually. The sizing comes in small (French sizing so one down from Italian) and smaller in the calf. I think since you're small of calf Italian and other southern European brands are good to look at. Do you like the Penelope Chivers boots that Kate Middleton wears all the time by any chance? I accidentally got half of mumsnet to buy those last year Xmas Blush from the original manufacturer (PC just has them slightly customised) for like a 1/4 or 1/3 of the price directly from Spain.

PlayingGrownUp · 25/12/2017 18:59

Ladies, would like to say that I have been trying your ideas as a lurker and loving a lot of them (I’m on a primary price range and broke so been trying to use what I have). It’s been so good to see all the different ideas and advice. Merry Xmas

botemp · 25/12/2017 19:01

Sorry, but I'd be remiss in pointing out that Equipment makes my most favourite silk blouses but their cashmere isn't worth the price they're asking.

cuirderussie · 25/12/2017 19:09

Can someone please give me a link to the Other Stories sale? Can't see it even though I subscribe and have liked the FB page. Thanks.

Littlehenrylee · 25/12/2017 19:10

I think the link only went to people who spent over a certain amount online during the year. I can’t cooy it.

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 19:11

I’m not keen on the PC Bo. I like them fairly fitted and streamlined. Nothing too fussy.
Grumpy I like the sweater. Maybe a touch more fitted and slightly longer. Was hoping to pick one up in the sale Smile

Rhubarbginn · 25/12/2017 19:11

And thankyou so much Grin

botemp · 25/12/2017 19:14

You could look at Gianvitto Rossi, possibly Rhubarb but they're not flat flat and I think a price slightly above SW. I think the very fitted look is a struggle though as it'll stretch and over time will slouch.

Hold on Cuir need the PC for the VIP sale invite link, will post in a sec again, did post it earlier though, does that one not work?
