Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

Why would you want to dissolve skin cells? What’s the results of using this?

CiderwithBuda · 12/12/2017 10:25

Well it's supposed to dissolve dead skin cells therefore revealing glowing skin. Old style granular exfoliants scratch skin and can damage it. The acid ones are supposed to be more gentle. Also good if you get spots as it stops skin getting congested. There is a beauty blogger called Caroline Hirons who writes about it all.

snowflakestar · 12/12/2017 10:36

Which beauty calendar has the pen, Podge?!

I usually use the Elemis papaya enzyme peel once every couple of weeks, I find that very gentle, it smells amazing and my skin likes it.

I'll try this tonight but I think I'll do what Cider said and put it on a bit earlier and then moisturise after an hour. Just to see how my skin reacts. I hope it likes it because I have an unopened full size bottle of the original plus an half size bottle!

Frederickvonhefferneffer · 12/12/2017 10:44

Thanks cider Smile

Commuterface · 12/12/2017 10:53

Absolutely love the Liquid Gold from last year so I'm thrilled to receive the Rose one today.

I also tried the skin peeler last night for the first time and my God! Half my face came off! I'm in love and will definitely repurchase this when it runs out.

PodgeBod · 12/12/2017 11:18

snowflakestar bare minerals advent calendar has a pen and a small crappy note pad Angry in 2 different windows, as well. Perhaps put together by the same people who did Zoellas calendar?

caggie09 · 12/12/2017 11:25

Last year i think Clarins had present tags in theirs last year along with pen and mini notepad! Bit stingy when companies do that!

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/12/2017 12:44

Is Liquid Gold in a similar vein to the Pixie Glow Tonic and you would use it in the same way (although I am guilty of using Glow Tonic nightly - oops).

The face peel one from a few days back am also scared to use! Sorry if this has already been asked but how do I use it? Is it okay to use on someone with some broken veins on their face?

Thank You

CiderwithBuda · 12/12/2017 12:54

Yes the Liquid Gold is similar to the Pixi Glow.

I prefer those kind of exfoliators so although I will use the peel thingie I won't buy one. I'll use the liquid gold. I also use the Nip and Fab glocolic daily cleansing pads.

Not sure I would use the peel with broken veins to be honest. You could use on décolleté area and neck though.

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/12/2017 13:19

Thanks @CiderwithBuda, good shout re: neck area (turkey!)

SouthWestmom · 12/12/2017 13:25

Which one is this amazing peel?

The calendar has redeemed it self with the beauty blender tbh as I use one all the time.

Shop · 12/12/2017 14:13

Pixi glow is an acid toner which you can use daily.
Liquid Gold is a much lower ph and is a treatment, to be used at night, and no more than every other night. I've always got best results just using twice a week.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 12/12/2017 14:21

I am excited to try the Liquid Gold! But I think I will leave it for a few days as my skin is feeling a bit sensitive at the moment. Not sure whether it's the cold weather or the fact I am chucking loads of new products at it! It does look and feel lovely, just a bit stingy when I apply anything.

The L'Occitane calendar a couple of years ago had rubbish like stickers and confetti stars in it. I think they have wised up though as there's nothing like that this year (and the price has been raised accordingly...)

snowflakestar · 12/12/2017 14:45

Oh dear, Podge, it sounds like it! And I'm surprised Clarins and L'Occitane did that, Caggie and ITold - I'd be very disappointed!

usernameinfinito · 12/12/2017 14:52

I would like to try today’s one but my skin still feels baby soft after the formula peel of the other day.

More of this lovely products, less of the sponge variety. 😁

happypoobum · 12/12/2017 16:06

I loved the liquid gold last year. I have decided to just use one product at a time as I don't think my skin can cope with the bombardment!

Also, that way it all lasts a lot longer Xmas Grin

I have very sensitive eyes and struggle to find a mascara that I can tolerate.

I tried the black magic mascara and I can wear it all day with no irritation whatsoever, in fact the first day, I almost didn’t take it off as I wasn’t used to still having mascara on until bedtime

Will use it a few more time before I commit but would be very tempted to buy this

YolandasFridge · 12/12/2017 17:24

Delighted with the alpha h rose, smells delicious and it's a fantastic product I've used before and loved.
I've always swiped it on like a toner before bed and like pp I think I was told best not to put any night cream etc over it so it can work better.
Between that and the face footner peel I'll be looking 12 by Christmas!

Sorry can't remember who mentioned it but LOVING the Korean all over peel idea , fonyou know what it's called? I may bathe in it Smile

redroses86 · 12/12/2017 17:33

I’m loving the calendar so far, a great mix of fancy skincare that I might not have tried. And I love the excitement of opening it each morning, am happy to take the risk of something not being quite what I’d have picked.
Today’s liquid gold looks good, am I right to think that I should still serum/moisturise after using it? Or do I apply then leave skin bare?

reallyorange · 12/12/2017 17:39

Liquid gold was one of my favourite things last year and still have loads left, so pleased with this!
I think it dissolves the "glue" that sticks dead skin cells to your face, rather than the skin cells themselves.

wildbuttercup · 12/12/2017 18:48

Not sure it's really my colour but I'm going with it!!

Looks lovely Wild

Frederickvonhefferneffer · 12/12/2017 19:08

I have just applied the liquid gold! Im expecting miracles.

LizzieSiddal · 12/12/2017 19:25

I’m really pleased with today’s, I’ve wanted to try this for a while but have been put off by the price, in case it didn’t suit me.

I’ve been in their website and here are the instructions if anyone wants them.

HOW TO USE
Using a cotton pad, apply Liquid Gold Rose each alternate night to cleansed face, neck and décolletage. Your skin will tingle momentarily. For a more intensive effect, do not follow with a night cream, but allow Liquid Gold Rose to work uninterrupted

CantChoose · 12/12/2017 20:11

That looks so much better on you than me wild! I have slightly olive skin with yellow tones and it looks horrid. Fab on you though.
