Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

I use the nip + fab dragons blood serum, usually on offer in Superdrug. I'm not sure if it really does do anything but it feels and smells like it's doing me good so I continue to buy it anyway

TheLongRider · 12/12/2017 00:31

I re-read the back of the advent calendar and it states that there will be 25 out of 26 available in the calendar. That may explain why some people have a lip balm and others the sponge.

Xmasbaby11 · 12/12/2017 06:50

Anyone up? I got something called liquid gold rose. Looks intriguing! It's a good size too.

Gingernaut · 12/12/2017 06:55

Yup me too.

soundsgreektome · 12/12/2017 06:57

The reviews for today's (gold - not rose gold) are really good. People even claim it gets rid of milia.

MelanieCheeks · 12/12/2017 06:59

Yes there was a liquid gold thing last year, I think.

I'm a potions and lotions fiend, would rather have a stash of things to try than make-up, so I'm happy with this.

FourEyesGood · 12/12/2017 07:01

My liquid gold rose has leaked! 😫 There’s still a lot in the bottle, but the box is ruined and it was stuck in the calendar. Will email M&S.
Disappointed as I intended to reuse the calendar boxes for DS next year.

AmethystMoon · 12/12/2017 07:17

Oooh! Today is goooooood Xmas Grin
Love this stuff, it’s also quite pricey full size. Not tried the rose one before but the normal liquid gold is fab.
Mind you just started using tretinoin so need to be careful with acids! Xmas Blush

snowflakestar · 12/12/2017 07:38

Happy with today's. I've had a large bottle of the original liquid gold in the cupboard for over a year but I've been too scared to even try it, so this will be a good starting point as it sounds a little less scary!

PodgeBod · 12/12/2017 07:50

I'm intrigued by today's but a bit confused- it is basically a moisturiser? I have very dry sensitive skin so I'll try this right away.

PodgeBod · 12/12/2017 07:53

100ml costs £37 so today's is worth £18.50. That's very impressive.

AwkwardSquad · 12/12/2017 07:54

Very happy with today’s. I’m working my way through last year’s gold so great to replenish stocks with a version that’s (hopefully) more nurturing for mature skin Grin

Podge, it’s not a moisturiser, it’s an acid skin resurfacer. Go easy with it, with your skin type.

PodgeBod · 12/12/2017 07:55

Oh sorry it's not a moisturiser it's an acid exfoliator.

PodgeBod · 12/12/2017 07:55

Cross post. We need an edit button Grin

Very pleased with this. I use the liquid gold. Nice to have some more, and it's a good amount. Useful sized bottle for travel.

Reallylongstory · 12/12/2017 08:03

Don’t know if I have any skin left to exfoliate after the bobbly peel the other day. Looking forward to trying it but might wait until the weekend

FedupNagging · 12/12/2017 08:18

I got the Rose Liquid Gold yesterday and the peel today Hmm

Am pleased with both-already use liquid gold but bottle is nearly finished so saves purchasing a replacement.

I don't seem to get on with make up sponges so am happy to do a swap. I suspect I'll have more swaps before the end of the calendar too.

I decided to give the mascara a go on Saturday-that curved brush is a right pita! Having said that, it looked nice, stayed on and didn't make my eyes sting!

caggie09 · 12/12/2017 08:40

This is the main reason i bought the calendar, i was going to pay £35 just for the big bottle alone. So im very pleased! Ill give it ago tomorrow nightGrin

mrsrhodgilbert · 12/12/2017 09:15

De lurking today for this one. I'm really loving all the skin care, I'm 53 and just post menopausal and want to update my skin routine so I'm going to enjoy trying all these potions. I have never used any acid products. What is this one going to do to my skin, will it be all red and raw looking? Trying to work out when it's safe to use them without scaring anyone the next day. I'm going to try them one at a time so I can see which I like. I'm liking the dragons blood but I'm getting a few tiny spots. Thanks

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/12/2017 09:23

Has anyone who uses acid peels tried the calendar peel? I use Nip+Fab pads daily so I'm not sure that I would have much, if any, dead skin to come off with the M&S peel.

The AlphaH liquid gold is a good size, it's half of a full size so about £20-worth.

CiderwithBuda · 12/12/2017 09:27

I still haven't used the liquid gold from last year and have some left in a full sized bottle. Will junk the full size one as thinking about it I haven't used it in a year I think.

It stings when you first use it. Use at night. I think I remember from the Caroline Hirons beauty threads from a few years ago that people said not to use any products afterwards but on th bottle it says only do that for a more intensive treatment. I used to find it too drying to do that so used to use early in th evening and use a moisturiser after an hour or so.

I wouldn't use it for a few days if you used the peel recently. Too much exfoliation is not good for your skin.

JoWithABow · 12/12/2017 09:30

Anyone got any tips on how to use today's product? Never used/heard of it before.

PodgeBod · 12/12/2017 09:30

mrsrhod I've already used today's and my skin isn't red at all it's actually gone very soft. Maybe I didn't use enough but it just feels like a toner to me.

M&S is holding up very well today against my £75 make up calendar which contained a pen for day 12 Xmas Hmm

CiderwithBuda · 12/12/2017 09:59

JoWithABow - after cleansing put some on a cotton pad and wipe over your face. It's an acid so dissolves skin cells. Best to use at night as it can sting a bit and your skin may look a bit red. When I started using it I just used it once a week then gradually moved to twice a week.
