Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

Not too impressed with this, I use bare minerals. I'll try and pass on.

wellthatsjustgreat · 11/12/2017 07:35

Oh crap....I'm another one who has opened tomorrow's by mistake. Half awake and definitely feeling miserable about it being Monday morning. Looks like I have a sponge to look forward to opening tomorrow Hmm

LizzieSiddal · 11/12/2017 07:39

I do agree that it’s difficult to please everyone, but they aren’t even tryingXmas Grin

AmethystMoon · 11/12/2017 07:40

Thanks for the tip about wetting the beauty blender wild.
I agree with whoever said it is more likely to be a case of us getting whichever products are offered by manufacturers than someone at M and S HQ thinking, “mmm I wonder what what people would like?”. It’s a Marketing tool, these cost them to sell to us in the hope we like a few things and go on to purchase. It’s not like a chocolate advent calendar otherwise we wouldn’t get so much product value for 35 pounds. Defiantly not aimed at youngsters though, but then why wouldn’t you aim it at the section of society which typically has more to spend?
Personally I’m loving it, makes me feel all festive every morning Xmas Grin

homebythesea · 11/12/2017 07:41

I Use beauty blender sponges to apply loose powder- it’s a brilliant way to press the powder in (as opposed to flicking it around with a brush) and I achieve a great base that way.

Gingernaut · 11/12/2017 07:45

Tried the peel last night.

My skin feels very smooth. Even the bits around my jawline and up my neck affected by keratosis pilaris.

Very impressed.

Confession: When I first got the calendar, I went through it all and got rid of cosmetics, brushes and blenders. I then replaced those bits with freebies I got from a couple of Clarins purchases.

I made no effort to memorise which bits were where, so every morning, I know I'll get skincare, I just don't know what.

snowflakestar · 11/12/2017 08:04

Mine's a sculpting sponge. I don't wear any foundation etc on my skin so I won't even open this (and a beauty blender would have been of no use either). Disappointing today.

mowglik · 11/12/2017 08:15

Hmm I got something else?? Won’t name it in case it’s a spoiler for tomorrow or something. I have a few beauty blenders so quite happy with what I got today though I won’t need to use it for a bit personally.

Also, we’re only halfway through the calendar! I’m sure eye creams hand creams perfumes etc will come later.. personally I’m still hoping for more makeup bits

rookiemere · 11/12/2017 08:28

Oh whoopiedoo a sponge. That ones going straight to my niece or god daughter. What a disappointment on a Monday morning Confused

rookiemere · 11/12/2017 08:31

I’ve read the other posts and I stand corrected. It’s not just any old sponge it’s a £7.50 blender ( that looks like a sponge)

mowglik · 11/12/2017 08:39

Blenders are amazing though I have a few - use them wet. Use them to apply foundation, buff in concealer, loose powder and I also use them for cream or powder blusher and then highlighter.

For going out face I spritz a facial mist after foundation and again after everything is applied and kind of push it all in with the blender - it makes makeup last ages. Starting to wish I’d got one now they do go manky very quickly Confused

ihatethecold · 11/12/2017 08:45

I didn’t get a sponge but I’m happy with what I did get.

TheaDecker · 11/12/2017 08:49

I didn't get a sponge either. I don't want a sponge (don't wear foundation) so happy with what I did get.

Trills · 11/12/2017 08:49

A makeup sponge like this is a useful thing IMO.
I got my first one from a beauty box, and now I use them. There are probably other people out there like me who have been applying their foundation with their fingers who, if they try the sponge, will like the sponge.

Blerg · 11/12/2017 08:51

I am pleased with this one - been wanting to try one for a while but wasn't sure what to go for.

Soyalatteforme · 11/12/2017 08:53

I got ultrasun lip balm!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 11/12/2017 09:05

I forgot to open mine this morning, I don’t need a sponge/beauty blender so I hope I get whatever the other option is.

SaltySeaBird · 11/12/2017 09:11

Sponge here. What was the alternative? I’d have loved lip balm, I won’t use the sponge.

CastielIsMyAngel · 11/12/2017 09:13

I don’t want things like hand creams and critical oils

Me neither, nothing worse than a critical oil!

Not fussed on the beauty blender, tried one last year and went back to my fingers, looked like I was wearing a mask

SaltySeaBird · 11/12/2017 09:14

I use a brush so not sure how a sponge would be better or different

CiderwithBuda · 11/12/2017 09:15

I got the Ultrasun lip balm too.

I do have some beauty blenders but don't really bother with them.

I wasn't keen on the nail varnish as the colour doesn't suit my skin tone but that's the only thing I've not been happy with. I do think some of you are hard to please!

SaltySeaBird · 11/12/2017 09:16

If anyone who didn’t get the sponge wants to swap for the alternative let me know!

rookiemere · 11/12/2017 09:16

I’d have liked a lip balm. Fingers crossed I get that tomorrow

Reallylongstory · 11/12/2017 09:25

Lip balm here as well! Does that mean we’ll get a sponge on another day I wonder.

caggie09 · 11/12/2017 09:32

I opened the calendar when i first bought it, i have forgot most of the products. But i never seen a lipbalm in mine. Id rather have lipbalm over the sponge!
