Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

Yuck, this colour is far too pale for me. A shame because it seems like a nice formula.

I don't know why people are saying the word "lipgloss", it's not a gloss at all it's a liquid lipstick.

I feel like a darker (not necessarily dark, just darker than this) pink or a red would be much more likely to suit everyone. A nude colour would be OK for a gloss or a balm but this has enough pigmentation that it shows up as this colour, and this colour is all wrong for me.

This is the first big fail for me.

Gaagaa · 06/12/2017 10:04

Colour does not work for me at all either! I need something with much more depth and richness to it

Commuterface · 06/12/2017 10:24

I'm really happy to see some make up make an appearance in the calendar but, from what you guys are already saying, I'm not sure this is going to be for me Xmas Sad I have quite dry lips and can see this highlighting all of my flakes and lines. I do quite like the colour though and will give it a try.

Hareinthewoods · 06/12/2017 10:52

I really like the colour and feel of this.

crumble82 · 06/12/2017 11:02

Thought I’d give the lipstick a go despite being unsure of the colour. The postman just gave me a very odd look and my baby is looking at me suspiciously. I don’t think I’ll wear it again. It’s also horribly cakey

latedecember1963 · 06/12/2017 11:05

Was really excited when I saw the name Stilla but like others have said it's too pale for me and gives me wrinkly lips.
My son's girlfriend might like it though.

chloechloe · 06/12/2017 11:40

I'm not too crazy about this but haven't tried it yet. It has a really strong smell which I find quite off putting for lipsticks.

TheBitterBoy · 06/12/2017 11:43

Oh gosh, this colour makes me look like a corpse. Disappointing as I do like Stila makeup in general. I'm not sure what colouring it would suit? I have dark hair and fair skin.

DurhamDurham · 06/12/2017 12:01

I've used the Stila lipgloss, it's too light for me but I've put on top of some plum lip pencil and it looks good. I put it on at 7.30 this morning and it's staying put.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 06/12/2017 12:12

BitterBoy I'm also dark haired and pale (slightly sallow) skin and it makes me look like a corpse too!
I don't normally wear nudes...something a bit pinker and definitely more sheer/glossy is my thing.
Maybe this is better for people with warmer skin tones?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 06/12/2017 12:22

I'm not going to try the Stila, I have very dry and chapped lips at this time of year and I'm not much of a makeup wearer anyway. Plus I'm pretty sure that this is not my colour. I will add it to my 'pass on to someone else' pile with the shimmer body lotion.

Smashpumpkin · 06/12/2017 12:51

A tip for those with dry lips trying the stila! If you exfoliate your lips 1st and then put a bit of lip balm on before applying it really helps. Just make sure you remove the excess lip balm before applying the lipstick

MrsPicklesonSmythe · 06/12/2017 12:53

I really like this. I have lots of liquid lipsticks and they're all drying (no matter what they claim). I use a bit of Molton brown lip saver over the top which helps.

WindyWednesday · 06/12/2017 13:27

I put lip balm on first, and it went into flaky rolls. My lips aren’t dry.

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/12/2017 13:28

I quite like it! I'm freakishly pale and like lipstick but struggle with most colours being too garish on my corpse face. I slapped too much on at first and it dried very quickly so now I have a wonky lip line. Lesson learned!

Lip balm on top is a good tip, thank you.

Kochicoo · 06/12/2017 14:02

So disappointed with today's. I hope that's not the only lipstick type make up in the calendar. I'm happy for the few people saying this suits them but jeez, how long did the calendar people have to spend to find a colour which is really bad on the majority of the population? Surely there are far more colours which sort of suit everyone (even if they don't love them) than this?!

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/12/2017 14:05

You can it my way Kochicoo! I realise I'm in the minority, am I the only paler than pale person who looks slightly more awake with it on?

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/12/2017 14:06

*send it

reallyorange · 06/12/2017 14:46

I never wear lipstick as it makes me look a bit freakish but this actually suits me a little bit. It's a rosy nude. Top lip stayed on longer than bottom lip though so might keep an eye on that...

MoonlightMedicine · 06/12/2017 14:58

DE-lurking to say I love today’s lip colour. It looked too pale but once it dries it’s a gorgeous nude tone. I haven’t found it drying but i mughtvpop a glossy nude lip pencil on top if it does go that way.

YolandasFridge · 06/12/2017 15:04

Hi fellow Adventeers(?)

Loving everything on the box so far esp the Rodial. Rosie shimmer lotion on the back burner until summer I think, my limbs are safely fully covered until then!

As a makeup artist I would say in my experience with a stay on lip colour, I think they key is a little goes a very long way , if you put too much on that's where the trouble can lie. Apply a very thin layer and leave it to set, don't try and build it up.

Bit of something moisturising over the top rather than underneath lets the colour adhere but helps with dryness . Carmex always a good shout for this.

The colour is pretty cool toned so not for everyone but IMHO it's not overly offensive, it reminds me of MAC Twig which used to sell like hot cakes back in the day Smile

Skinfulnappies46 · 06/12/2017 16:24

It's ok ish for me but did use Naked lip liner from Urban decay under it first. Don't trash it yet... try with a liner or just combine with another lippie. I do this with all my lip products.

MyNameIsJane · 06/12/2017 17:00

I had my Max Factor Lipfinity on and applied the lippy over it and it looked nice!

Tippexy · 06/12/2017 17:12

People are aware that it’s not a lip gloss which is why it’s not glossy, right? It dries matt because it’s a longwear liquid lipstick Smile

miffy2 · 06/12/2017 17:46

I like it! I had a clarins lip oil on this morning, and then just dabbed a bit of the stila on after an hour or so. It is a flattering enough shade on me and I will wear it. Transfers on everything though, so not great for going out eating/drinking I imagine.
