Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

Gatineau moisturiser in my amazon one this morning too!!

Hareinthewoods · 04/12/2017 11:26

I am making an effort to use everything up as I go, and not put it away for a rainy day that never comes.

Day 1 - just using it as normal body lotion, it's not shimmery at all on me.
Day 2 - the mask is lovely and I like the smell. My face feels nice but looks no different!
Day 3 - the shower oil is nice but wouldn't buy it again, prefer my l occitane almond shower oil.
Day 4 - I love this moisturiser but not enough to pay £80 for it!

snowflakestar · 04/12/2017 11:37

I'm doing the same Hare, as that's what I often do with beauty products and then they're usually still in the cupboard a year later! It feels good to be using them straight away, and I could do with the pampering right now.

latedecember1963 · 04/12/2017 12:16

I love today's moisturizer. QVC do some good deals on Gatineau products every so often and I find the products go a long way. Their firming throat gel is one of my favourites so I'm hoping we might get some in a later "house".

PeppersTheCat · 04/12/2017 12:52

Finally used the mask. It did nothing for my dark circles, sadly :( Still, I'll use it all up. Rosie is my favourite so far (!) but I don't feel compelled to repurchase any of these items. Feeling a little disappointed with the calendar. I prefer items that have a visible effect, if you kwim? Where's the makeup??

Won't use today's item. After what snowflakestar said about it being for mature ladies, I'll gift it to my mum for xmas. Does anyone have a link to the full sized version? I want to show DH because he said the calendar was a waste of money! Shock

PeppersTheCat · 04/12/2017 12:59

got hold of the tube and squeezed the rest of it on the rug

Jesus wept!!

LoniceraJaponica · 04/12/2017 13:15

You can send it to me Peppers. I am a little more mature in years than most posters here Grin

deptfordgirl · 04/12/2017 14:05

I'm going to try the moisturiser tonight and see how it is tomorrow morning. Definitely hoping for some makeup soon, would prefer that to body creams, etc.

WindyWednesday · 04/12/2017 14:07

I’m not enjoying this one as much as last years. Only a few days in, so it’s got time to redeem its self yet!

Smashpumpkin · 04/12/2017 16:25

I think I’m in the minority here but I don’t like day 4. The smell is really overpowering and it’s quite tacky to the touch. Will be passing this on the my mum

latedecember1963 · 04/12/2017 17:08

Peppers, If you go onto the M&S website and type in Gatineau into the search part it will take you to the items they sell. I think they sell today's offering for about £80.

My DH is sceptical about the £250 value too so I'm keeping a running tab on the value of each product. I'm at home convalescing after an operation so have more time on my hands than usual!

BlueEyedWonder · 04/12/2017 17:13

I really enjoyed the calendar last year. This year, so far, less so. Do hope we’re going to get some make up soon!

CanIBuffalo · 04/12/2017 17:17

I'm in my 50s. Used today's moisturiser and I'm delighted with it. I'd been away for a very very boozy weekend with my mates and have a disgusting cold. Honestly - I looked like shit this morning but I slapped some on and it made a huge difference. It reminded me a bit of the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm effect. I'll be saving my cash for a full size one.
Maybe if you're not noticing a difference, it's because you weren't old and knackered enough in the first place 😂

CanIBuffalo · 04/12/2017 17:18

Haven't tried days 1 to 3 yet because I was away.

YouWereRight · 04/12/2017 17:47

I used the mask last night, and it felt very hot. But my face looks lovely and fresh today, it's really done a lot for my cold ravaged, winter face. On the basis of the burning when applied, I'm not sure if I'll buy again, but then it did make a noticeable difference, so...

I like the Gatineau cream, and I had no idea that M&S stocked it. I'm not sure I'd stretch to £86 quid for a full size version of it!

LoniceraJaponica · 04/12/2017 17:47

CanIBuffalo how can you tell? I have always looked after my skin, and at 59 look nearer 50 than 60, but no matter what I put on my skin it always looks the same (unless I am wearing make up of course). I am so very sceptical of these miracle creams, and just don't believe that they can make that much difference. I does make my skin feel tight, but when I touch my face it doesn't feel dry.

Smashpumpkin today's cream has hardly any smell to me.

CanIBuffalo · 04/12/2017 17:53

I've never really looked after my skin. I use a face wash in the shower in the morning and Protect & Perfect then basic moisturiser. If I can be bothered, I use a face wipe at night (rare). I could tell I looked better after using it this morning because my under eye wrinkles looked less deep and my skin looked less pale and dry. I just looked a lot more rested after I put it on than before I put it on. I did look particularly awful this morning though. I'm a sceptic so I'm going to put it on half my face tomorrow morning and use my usual v basic moisturiser on the other half to compare.

LizzieSiddal · 04/12/2017 18:07

Loni have you got your specs on? Wink Grin
Actually, I’m 52 and agree with you. I don’t see huge differences when I try new things so I end up buying pretty middle of the road creams, which I just like the smell and texture of. I haven’t tried today’s moisturer yet but will in the morning and report back.

happypoobum · 04/12/2017 18:33

I have dug out all the stuff I have been "saving" from last years haul, plus other bits and bobs in my beauty hoard.

I dug out the body lotion from last year (won't name it in case it reappears) and it really is lovely, although I remember some posters last year found the smell overpowering.

I am old enough to benefit from todays cream, although it may cause a break out on my oily skin yes when you get old and have oily skin you wrinkles AND spots

I want MAKE -UP!!!!! Angry

I'm actually fine with all the skin / pampering products. I don't wear a big range of make up so there's a good chance of getting items/colours I just don't go for. Whereas I'll try any new skin thing, pretty much.

reallyorange · 04/12/2017 18:40

Last year's make-up was great (good liquid eyeliner, the Rosie lip gloss thing). Most boring thing was the eyebrow gel or the very similar shades of nail varnish.

Trills · 04/12/2017 18:46

The felt tip eyeliner from last year is one of the things I have bought more of with my own money. The nail varnish would have been FINE if it was two different colours.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 04/12/2017 18:52

I liked today's cream. Whacked it on this morning though without realising how expensive it is and didn't really pay any attention to the difference it may have made to my skin!
I may keep it for night cream if it hasn't got SPF though so will use it again later and pay closer attention...

I prefer skincare to make up. I've had the No 7 calendars for the past couple of years which are make up heavy. I think I have enough eyeliners to last me until 2020!

Xmasbaby11 · 04/12/2017 19:25

I used the face pack and moisturiser and my skin looks very good today. Not expecting to buy any new products on the back of this as they are beyond budget - it's purely for the fun of trying something new!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 04/12/2017 19:41

Ooh impressed with the Gatineau Melatogenine cream. Alison Young always raves on about this on QVC.
I really want to open day No5, so can I pretend I'm on NZ time as it's morning there? Grin
