Any tips? I’m not intending to tell a soul and have it booked for when DH is away a few days next month. Terrified and excited at same time....

Emma78 Botox isn’t a filler though, it’s not going to fill an existing line. Botox is preventative, muscle relaxing only.

plank · 28/10/2017 23:21

Just make sure they are a nurse or a doctor. And there experience

healinghand · 28/10/2017 23:25

I also have secret botox. Baby botox on forhead still slight movement when i look to heaven lift my brown, and between brows.

cuirderussie · 28/10/2017 23:29

18!!!!!!!Confused

AgainPlease · 28/10/2017 23:33

I go to my dentist and get baby Botox in 3 areas: between the brows, corners of eyes, and scattered across the forehead.

Lines have come back since being pregnant. Can’t wait till I’m able to have it done again!

I’m not shy about my Botox either. I happily tell everyone and DH knows full well too.

CallingPeopleACuntOnFb · 29/10/2017 09:05

I have secret botox

My dr is excellent and I don’t have a mark when he’s done

I have it between my brows and at the corner of my eyes

Makes me laugh as he’s so “anti” any cosmetic surgery yet he hasn’t a clue

bananafish81 · 29/10/2017 09:32

Love my botox!

Ecstatic with the results on my crows feet.

I actually didn't get any bruising to speak of (forehead and eyes) - I went straight back to work afterwards (had it done over lunchtime)

I saw a respected consultant dermatologist, no way would I see anyone other than a medical professional who's properly trained in the anatomy of the facial nerves (ie dermatologist, plastic surgeon or dentist. Not a nurse or beautician)

Ijustlovefood · 29/10/2017 09:40

Responding though to comments of looking well and putting it down to other things when you know it is likely to be the Botox is just lying and portraying a fake image to the world. Women and young girls are already looking at these images in the media and thinking why can't I look like that and it's not fair as it isn't what they 'really' look like.

EachandEveryone · 29/10/2017 09:42

Anyone in North London who can recommend someone?

catbas · 29/10/2017 10:02

Ijust do you wear make up? Is that lying? My body my choice 😊

XiCi · 29/10/2017 10:19

There is no 'aftermath' to botox. Definitely no Arnica, ice packs or days off work needed Grin. Filler has to be injected deeply hence the bruising. I've never experienced any after effects of botox apart from slight redness that has always completely disappeared in the 15 minute journey home from the practitioner.
OP I have secret botox, in my 11s on my forehead and baby botox for crows feet. Have had it for years and love it. Friends/family just seem to comment that you look well/ skin looks good etc. Just makes you look more fresh faced. Come back and let us know how you get on. I'm sure you won't regret it

Ijustlovefood · 29/10/2017 11:37

Most people know if you've got makeup on. If you want to have Botox that's fine but don't lie and say oh I've been drinking lots of water etc so people believe that's why you look great is what I'm getting at

Bruceishavingfish · 29/10/2017 13:41

No one is obliged to give out personal information just because someone oays a compliment.

XiCi · 29/10/2017 13:50

I don't lie about anything Ijust. I just say thanks. But if I was directly asked if I had ever had botox I wouldn't lie. It's a pretty standard beauty treatment these days

YouLittleWally · 29/10/2017 19:06

Not a nurse banana? I’m a nurse practitioner, and I am often found teaching/correcting the Docs at Work about anatomy. I get the not beautician stuff but a nurse who specialises in this is more than qualified

CallingPeopleACuntOnFb · 29/10/2017 19:10

Yes I think a dr/dentist/nurse is fine...definitely not a beautician though

My Botox chap is a dentist

bananafish81 · 29/10/2017 19:30

What specialty do you practise in youlittlewally? Absolutely no slight meant to nurses - I completely agree that a nurse is leagues apart from a beautician in terms of anatomy knowledge. But personally I would also consider lots of Drs insufficiently qualified (I know many of my medic friends said they absolutely relied on their nursing colleagues during their training, so what you say about correcting Drs about anatomy certainly rings true from their POV too!).

Personally I wouldn't go to a Dr who wasn't a specialist in the field I wouldn't go to a registrar in plastics or derm who hadn't yet gone on the specialist register, nor would I go to a GP or other physician who'd done the botox course - I would only go to a consultant dermatologist or plastic surgeon (or a fully qualified dentist) who had significant experience in injectables

Just my personal preference however!

catbas · 29/10/2017 21:54

Ijust why not lie? Why do they owe you anything? I'm not gonna tell people if I'm wearing Spanx or a padded bra...

lovemylover · 02/11/2017 22:14

ANYONE WHO HAS HAD FILLERS HAVE YOU HAD THEM ROUND THE MOUTH, LIKE SMOKERS LINES
Sorry caps on, i had it done once and it was a mess, but would like them done again properly,i think this woman was practicing on me
Did you have a good result

YouLittleWally · 02/11/2017 22:39

Banana I’m a plastics and aesthetics nurse

pinkliquorice · 02/11/2017 22:49

Didn’t expect there to be so many women who keep it a secret! I’ve been having Botox for 8 years but everyone knows, lots of my friends have it done also.
It’s really common these days, what’s the issue?
Why do you not tell anyone?

EnidButton · 03/11/2017 00:12

Anyone had improvements with headaches from having it? Just curious as it would be an added bonus.

skunkrat · 07/11/2017 20:59

I had it done today Shock

Currently sat stock still holding phone out in front of face! Grin

Didn’t hurt all over in 5 mins, we shall see what happens. Check up in 2 weeks.
