Any tips? I’m not intending to tell a soul and have it booked for when DH is away a few days next month. Terrified and excited at same time....

I liked the Spanx analogy earlier, you wouldn’t declare them do why declare Botox

@canyouseemyusername you appear to have wandered onto the wrong thread. Bit like wandering onto a football thread and saying 'God football is such a waste of time, isn't it sad how people spend their time on such pursuits'

Yes it works on deep lines. It won't erase them but it will soften them

I bloody love my botox. I don't mind looking my age, I just resent looking older than my age and ageing prematurely. I want to look less haggard. Botox is one tool that's helping me to look like me, but fresher.

If you don't like botox, there's a very easy solution - don't get it! Easy

Delatron · 08/11/2017 17:00

What worries me, as someone mentioned
upthread is that more wrinkles appear round the eyes. I guess you are using different muscles.

My actual under eye area is fine. I don't want to mess with this as I think wrinkles in this area are the most ageing of all so I think I don't want to risk getting 11's done and crows feet only to get more wrinkles
elsewhere. I've heard this from quite a few people now...

CallingPeopleACuntOnFb · 08/11/2017 17:37

I had heard that too delatron. It hasn’t happened to me (so far). Hope it doesn’t 🙈

skunkrat · 08/11/2017 17:41

My forehead feels a bit tight so far, forehead still has lines (these are not deep) - wouldn’t expect them to have gone already.

I worry about the eye thing as well but time will tell. Under eyes are my next concern area.

No it definitely will take longer! If you’re anything like me though you’ll keep checking in every mirror you pass 😂

I literally woke up on day ten and could not move my forehead 🙈

Delatron · 08/11/2017 17:52

That's good to hear CallingPeopleACuntOnFb. I'm sure it doesn't happen to everybody it must be down to how individuals use the muscles of their face maybe?

Effendi · 08/11/2017 17:53

I've had botox 3 times in my 11.
Husband didn't notice. It did give me a headache after though for a few days. Last time was in July and its almost worn off now. I wish it lasted longer.

I also have lip fillers 2-3 times a year. Again he doesn't notice.

2 weeks ago I had my eyebrows microbladed, how he didn't notice that I'll never know.

PigWhisperer · 08/11/2017 19:02

How do you find your practitioners? I don't really know where to start without asking for recommendations......!

PeteMe · 08/11/2017 19:21

Not botox, but have any of you had the cosmelan treatment? I am considering it and looking to see if others have had the treatment. Thanks :)

CallingPeopleACuntOnFb · 08/11/2017 19:29

Never heard of it Pete sorry!

Pig I found mine as my friend who looks flipping amazing told me about him. I did a lot of googling him and read every review I could find and all were fab. So I made an appointment and he was so lovely. I actually wanted lip fillers too but he refused them as I apparently don’t need them. He also said I wouldn’t need 3 areas only 2 and not very much. So this also made me feel confident as he had the chance to earn more money from me and didn’t take it iyswim. My one is a dentist (but also a Dr, I’m not sure how that works!). If you’re in the Midlands I can pm you his details I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

FruitCider · 08/11/2017 20:25

Pete it’s a chemical skin peel of maximum depth, with down time of approx week. Skin will peel off. It’s not a brand I offer so cannot comment on efficacy etc.

FruitCider · 08/11/2017 20:29

Botox for the most part is easy to hide when you have it done. Some people have little blebs in the injection sites but these disappear within the hour. Very occasionally clients get very minor bruising 1mm x 1mm across where the needle went in around the eyes, again this is very easy to cover up. After care advice - no sum beds or heavy exercise for 24 hours, no facial massage, eyebrow waxing, laying face down for 24 hours, if you cycle/drive a motorbike keep riding down to a minimum for 24 hours so pressure from the helmet can be avoided. The only time botox is obvious is when it’s done badly and causes a ptosis.

FruitCider · 08/11/2017 20:30

pig saveface is a voluntary register, they check standards of clinics so start your search there Smile

SemperTemper · 08/11/2017 20:38

I've had it done during a lunch break. You won't need a day off.

If it's done well people will comment that you look well. If they say you look different but they can't quite out their finger on why, you've gone overboard.

Austentatious · 08/11/2017 20:41

This thread made me book mine today (haven't been in a year!)

artiface · 08/11/2017 22:43

I wish I had the courage to try again...about 10-14 days after I had it (first and only time) I found I struggled to breathe. I was driving and had to pull over, it lasted about 10 minutes I think (long time ago now) but it really scared me. I absolutely loved the results and have a very lined head now Sad

Fashionjunkie · 09/11/2017 07:47

Had it done for the fist time last night, asked for 1/2 amount in 2 areas to start with as i'm a wimp! Wanted to start slow! Went to a GP who was lovely and knew her stuff!

skunkrat · 09/11/2017 08:52

Can you report back as well fashionjunkie - be interested to hear your exp.

I already feel a little less of a forehead droop but it could be in my mind Grin

artiface - what makes you link a breathing incident two weeks later wtih botox jabs in your forehead? or did you have jabs in your neck?

skunkrat · 09/11/2017 20:10

honey if I were you I would have a consultation with a decent clinic (recommended if poss) and have a chat. I was talked out of if first time, this time talked down from what I originally wanted which I think is a good thing.

I’m also dubious, but it might be good to start small

MozzchopsThirty · 09/11/2017 20:55

I love my Botox

bathghter · 09/11/2017 21:26
