I live in skinny black jeans.

Why then has it taken me 33 years of life to consider a pair of DMs? My kids have stashed out that DMs are cool and have pairs and they’re only in primary school.

Are they comfy? Are they TTS? What colour shall I get? I’m torn between:

Brown leather (sensible)

White patent (less sensible but would go with everything).

Grey patent (ditto).

Hot pink or purple.

Is it worth the investment?

Because of this thread I now have a pair of purple pascals. They are beautiful.

I bought a pair of brown gaucho Chelsea boots a fortnight ago. Apart from 3 days this week when I've been to ill to walk anywhere, I've worn them every day. I love them. I've been wearing them with straight leg coloured chinos rolled up two turns and bootcut jeans rolled in and up a couple of times. Love them.

I had a pair of black 8 hole boots with the yellow stitching when I was about 12 and they fitted until I suddenly grew a shoe size when I was 17. Gutted about that.

I took aaaages to realise I wanted the DMs. I've been looking for a pair of chunky Chelsea boots but all the ones I could find in the shops were too prissy or had heels or had pointy toes... then I remembered my lovely DMs, had a search and there they were. Ah. Love.

I have these at the moment - had a pair in the mid 90s and they lasted 20 years before giving up the ghost. Managed to find another pair on eBay

I have some black boring ones, bright red patent, mid calf patent with heels, and a pair of heeled shoes.

I recently bought these for myself (early 40th birthday present 😬). They make me happy every time I put them on (heavier than I recall them being from my youth though).

Has anyone ever tried painting their DMs? I have a pair of purple ones which are very scuffed at the ends. Wondering about getting creative on them - I’m sure I remember people doing this when I wore them first time around, as a teenager.
