are you a picky sort of person Franny?

fishie · 06/04/2007 13:01

oh FRANNY - i didn't tell you so but could have done. i always return everything from next.

go to shops and take top with you. i love knee length skirst but they seem to be a bit out of fashion now. black and white is your best bet [can't believe i'm doing this but..] how's this lot? i like deco one.

JackieNo · 06/04/2007 13:02

. How frustrating. So what are you going to do - head out to the shops?

NotQuiteCockney · 06/04/2007 14:58

I saw a lovely boiler suit today on Oxford Street and thought of you, Frances.

It was bright orange and had something like 'Property of the Pittsburgh Department of Mental Health' on the back.

Does online shopping for clothes ever work? I have only done it once (Boden trousers in sale) and ok, I like them, but not enough to justify the shower of email and real life rubbish I've since been sent by Johnny and his ilk.

mythumbelinas · 06/04/2007 15:04

tried oasis?

AitchTwoOh · 06/04/2007 15:08

oooooh, i like the clover print purpley one..

FrannyandZooey · 06/04/2007 16:33

update here

I felt such an important new development merited its own thread

(ok I was fed up with this one)

Now Aitch your orange Wallis skirt was v good - in fact Wallis in general alarmingly interesting, with some very odd and exciting colours, I think NQC should go there immediately

oh yes but the Wallis skirt was just too prim for me, if you are going to pull that off you need to have some curves or something

and Oasis was indeed the surprise runner up - both the purple one and the 70s flower print b + w ones were very nice, nicer than on the website, but a bit of a rip off for £40, it was quite thin material

and I saw Olive's skirt at 30% off and it is lovely but too brown for me

if you want to know anything about any skirt on the high street pls ask me because I have tried every single one on

how can navy look frumpy? it's just a colour... anyway, it's dark blue. shame about the belt, i like it and i think it ties together the colours well. so, no pink shoes in the house? or red, even, with red bangles and beads?
i also think teal should be fine as long as it's not clashy with the skyish blue on the skirt. i know there's no red in the skirt but i'd be tempted to try red if you have some bits and bobs lying around.
what's the top?

mousiemousie · 06/04/2007 18:31

I passed the purple oasis skirt in the window this morning and thought it would look nice on you franny! Which is quite bizarre since I have never met you!

I have just been on a beach buying bonanza in Fat Face - got this tankini plus matching accessories & sarong! Now I just need to book a beach holiday to match!

NotQuiteCockney · 06/04/2007 18:50

Yeah, Wallis is probably a good shop for me.

I am probably taking a break from clothing shopping now, though, as I think I want to start running again, and I am v confused about sizes all of a sudden, anyway. (I am bigger than an 18 in gap jeans. I am a 14 in M+S pyjama bottoms. )

I bought some lovely tights today, and some pyjama bottoms, nothing actually interesting though. Oh, an outfit for DS1 for tomorrow. At least he knows what he's wearing.

NotQuiteCockney · 06/04/2007 18:50

Oasis stuff often looks like beach wear. And lots of it fails my basic requirement of clothing, which is that it actually cover things up usefully.

But I'm wearing one of their dresses this weekend to a wedding, so obviously I like some of it.

What a nice skirt - hooray!
