Write out 200 times, I MUST KEEP UP WITH MN THREAD. I am cross with myself especially from the S&B perspective and I see I have missed some great posts. I have never managed order and keep anything from Woolovers. The photos bear no relation to the shape and fit of the sweaters. So I have given up with them even though they keep spamming me constantly.
cloud how is the course going...sorry, I have missed you on WA.
Crem I have a dilemma I'm tryIng to solve re. the MU in the shape of one of DS2s concerts. Trying to see if DH will go instead. I will come back to you by the end of the weekend on this.
I am lingering over porridge and berries by the seafront and will walk some more before heading home from a lovely if brief overnighter here. Have hardly talked to anyone ..it's very healing.

MsMartini · 15/10/2017 08:09

I got a Woolovers jumper last year I was quite pleased with and have just bought another one. The sizing is all over the place though.

I have a S & B question! I use Guerlain's Midnight Secret if I've had a rough night, and it usually makes me look fresh faced the next morning. But it seems to be losing its power. What can I use instead?

MrsWobble3 · 16/10/2017 09:25

MrsS - have you tried Clarins Beauty Flash Balm?

motherinferior · 16/10/2017 21:06

Ooh that stuff is supposed to be The Biz, isn’t it.

hattymattie · 16/10/2017 21:38

I thought I read a review by Mrs S of Beauty Flash Balm on another thread a couple of years ago. It as very funny and I don't think she rated it. She probably can't remember it now. I had some but can't work out where to put it in relation to moisturiser etc.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/10/2017 22:22

You may well have done, Hatty! I can't stand the stuff - it goes into little rolls of ick on me and just sort of peels off. And then everyone says, ooh, but it's marvellous stuff, you can't have been applying it properly. I was. And the woman at the Clarins counter did, and the same thing happened.

motherinferior · 17/10/2017 14:37

I feel like that about learning to wear heels.😀

Cremolafoam · 17/10/2017 17:36

Ooh good turn out Crepes - any more fares?

I'm not keen on the Clarins stuff either. I find it goes a bit like Copydex on my skin too. Goopy. I think I'll stick to my Korean wonder moisturiser and moon stuff. Grin It seems to go well with The Ordinary treatments I have and doesn't make me stick to the pillowcase.

I never thought CBFB made the amazing transformation is should have done for the price, but kept on buying it in duty free, as it was always listed as a 'must have' and I'm a sheep.

Much purchasing excitement here. Nipped into the ever glamorous local mall, and purchased some face cream as recommended by Sali Hughes in this week's Guardian weekend, but for HALF PRICE. And what's more, you get a Carmex gift set when you buy three items.

THEN I went to Clarks to look at shoes. There weren't any, but there was this most excellent bag, which is just what I've been looking for. Small enough for ease of use and cross-body wear, but big enough for everything I need day to day.

herbaceous · 17/10/2017 18:15

Superdrug snake oil, in full:

black truffle, if you please

instant freezing of wrinkles, appaz, and like CBFB though dreadful reviews

And some micellar water.

hattymattie · 17/10/2017 20:10

Grin Mrs S - I think you put something about it going into little rolls and trying to escape.

Good haul Herbs - I want a messenger bag - am waiting for the January sale now.

DS and I annoyed as his brilliant history teacher is pregnant so the courses are to be taken by the rubbish head teacher. I cannot understand why in three classes of 18 students, DS's class cannot be split between the other two classes. Two history classes of 27 should be manageable.

hattymattie · 17/10/2017 20:13

Mrs S - having put one of your DD's through the IB - do you rate it? I know you had issues with the school but the qualification itself. Fed up with the French bac system and the "we mark you down deliberately so you work harder" approach.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/10/2017 07:38

Hatty - only if your child is a good all-rounder, and phenomenally well organised. It is a hell of a lot of work. Two of DD1's friends got the full 45 points, which is amazing, given that only 200 (approx) get that worldwide. They have both gone off to do medicine (interestingly both were rejected by Cambridge). I think DD1 would have done better with some continuity of teachers in some subjects, and better application and organisation from her. I do worry sometimes how she is going to cope with university.

IDismyname · 18/10/2017 10:32

Morning you Crepe-tastic lot. Its been so long since I posted, I've had to 'find' you all again!

Loving, loving the course, but really busy, and lacking general 'headspace' to take on much else beyond my own sphere of domestic and design work, really.

I was so wound up when I started; found the commute and the overall expectation of what I have to achieve in a year quite overwhelming, but am settling into it a bit better, now. The palpitations are decreasing, and I'm sleeping a bit better. I also accept that I may have some stressy nights, but that they will be short lived.

I also think I want to get as much as possible out of this - you know - 'grab it by the horns' kind of approach, that I put pressure on myself. I'm not the oldest in the class (of 24), but I'm in the top quarter age wise, so it feels quite tough to keep it up.

I wouldn't swap it for a million dollars and I LOVE being back in the design world. I have missed it so so much. I mean, I spent the afternoon at a large London museum with my sketchbook. I haven't been given permission to do that for 25 years. BLISS :)

In other news, we have friends for supper on Saturday evening. I am doing Poached Pears in Saffron, and this ice cream from Sarah Raven.

Bay Ice Cream

I picked the leaves 3 days ago, and left them out, so have had to sieve bits of stalk out of the sugar mixture. The kitchen smells fab.

*MrsS - I'm going to give that beef a whirl, too. DS due back home from stormy Wales soon.

IDismyname · 18/10/2017 10:34

Rosen - sorry you miss me on WA! I get a chance on my commute days to scroll through and comment occasionally, but the rest of the week is too busy for me to keep up properly with you all.

hattymattie · 18/10/2017 19:06

Airborne - fantastic that you're enjoying the course so much. I'd love to do something creative but can only admire. Your post sounds so animated and happy.

Thanks for the IB advice Mrs S - I think I'll steer clear given how hard it is to make DS work and the fact that he is not a good all rounder.

Very annoyed as DS's brilliant history teacher has gone and got pregnant so is to be replaced by useless teacher.

Am off to book club and have not read all the book - Jane Austen bio. I really enjoyed reading Emma just beforehand, the biography not so much - too much speculation and to be honest she lived a fairly ordinary life.

motherinferior · 19/10/2017 16:53

Yes, the whole point about JA is that she had a limited life and just got on with writing!
