I am also a bra front doer upper, Rose. Although I do then pull my tits towards the middle of the cup, like the woman in R & P told me to do many moons ago.

Lovely afternoon pottering in lovely Cascais and nice paddle on one of the beaches. And huge greedy dinner. Grin

hattymattie · 28/07/2017 08:57

Rose I saw a lady in the street yesterday with her dress zipped up to just between her shoulder blades. I thought of volunteering to do the rest for her but chickened out.

I do my bra up the front and swizzle it round. My DM was astonished to hear this - clearly I am a backward teenager. Mrs S - French bra shop lady showed me how to lean forward to position the boob in the cup - who knew!

Cremolafoam · 28/07/2017 09:28

My goodness, yes the contortions of bra-donning here are also plentiful. Don't get me started on shapewear. I am quite sure I haven't got over the piece of spandex I wore on my wedding day 17 years ago. It must have melted in the heat and applied itself to my nethers, with the intention of never being removed, like some kind of modern day chastity belt.Shock And , there were no scissions in the hotel room on our wedding night. Blush

Rosen, when do you have all your people coming ? Is it next week?

Mrs S, sounds blissful. Am very pleased the holidays are working out for people. BTM, when do you go -must be soon. SoEnvy as our own trip to N Spain 🇪🇸 still a way off.
Away to drink coffee with mate now though, and to discuss seaweed bathing.

herbaceous · 28/07/2017 10:18

I am peculiarlarly double-jointed in the shoulders, so find doing up bras at the back, or long zips totally doable. Though of course this doesn't help with welded-on shapewear.

As for swimming costumes, my main 'problem areas' are outside the blasted thing, so I just buy cheap n cheerful and don't spend long cavorting outside the water. The only thing that would suit me would be a Victorian bathing machine, wheeled right into the sea.

For practicality and enforced standing around watching DS frolic I do like my Slazenger boy leg cozzie, as that covers up the two string bags full of porridge that pass for my thighs.

In marital news, DP and I had a lovely lunch in the new Garden Museum next to Lambeth Palace yesterday. Really sweet little museum, which is in a converted church, and delicious cafe. We were saying how we'd like to go to a wedding, and whose turn was it, and DP said 'well I suppose we could get married, and get it out of the way'. Was that a proposal?

I happened to note that the museum hires itself out as a wedding venue. And it would be LOVELY.

Herbs - do you want it to be one? If yes, then many congratulations and may I come to the Crepey hen night please.

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2017 13:16

Oh yes Herbs!
What did you say whenhe said that? Did you say "yes let's" or were you dumbstruck?

herbaceous · 28/07/2017 13:21

He's said stuff like this before, but with less conviction. I think my reply was 'yes, I guess we could', or something equally gushing. Every girl's dream.

Rosenspants · 28/07/2017 14:32

Herbs you need to be a bit more direct..."Are you proposing to me?"
I wonder if congratulations are in order? A Crepey wedding...oh my word.

hattymattie · 28/07/2017 15:40

Herbs - that was a proposal - my DH was "if you like we can get married" - top marks for enthusiasm and romanticism.

herbaceous · 28/07/2017 15:49

We do occasionally come up with the most ludicrous 'first dance' records we can think of. Current favourite - 'In The Navy'.

I wanted to come up the aisle to ' Tequila' and have us turn round on the word tequila and have everyone shout it!
Herbs , tgat was a proposal in my book, given the bar is pretty low here:
Maybe we better get married then
( on the phone, following some frustration with Australian visa forms)
Do it!!!
And that venue is perfect! And ds will love the organising etc.
Wink

NoCureForLove · 28/07/2017 16:41

Shall I buy a hat?

msmargarita · 28/07/2017 18:11

Sounds like a proposal to me, Herbs!
Dh said 'I suppose we could get married' at the end of an evening in a pub off the balls pond road, we both got quite excited about the idea but then spent much if the next morning surreptitiously checking out if we both still felt the same way and/or remembered.

hattymattie · 28/07/2017 18:31

I am so glad the crepey husbands are about as unimaginative in their proposals as mine - everybody else I know seems to have had romantic dinners, bended knee etc. My DH was eating cheese at the time - mind you, that is one of the closest things to his heart.

bigTillyMint · 28/07/2017 19:16

Bloody hell, DH looks like a top romantic compared to yours! He proposed in the snow in the Alps on Christmas Day Grin

msmargarita · 28/07/2017 20:47

Crem is right, Herbs, ds will love it. Lalsy can testify to enthusiasm of offspring.

IDismyname · 28/07/2017 22:58

I think a long weekend in Lisbon for Hen Party, non?

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/07/2017 23:06

Please get married there, Herbs, as it is 10 minutes walk from me, and everyone else can arrive on the 3. You could have your reception on a boat on the Thames.

I had a romantic proposal.

motherinferior · 28/07/2017 23:10

DP tried a very romantic proposal but as you can see I've not taken him up on it yet.Grin

MsMartini · 28/07/2017 23:50

HERbs, sounds like a proposal to me too, especially judged against low standards of crepes dh s ("is there really no other way you can have some of my pension if you outlive me" was mine). BTM, yours sounds good 😀

Do you want to be married? If so please have it there. It sounds great, and MsMargarita is right - my dc loved helping my friends organise (will tell you the story some time.

Blackduck · 29/07/2017 06:32

Herbs it's on a par with dp 'we'll get married if you want to'. - as you can see at the time I didn't.

Do it if that's what you want/ will make you feel more secure.

hattymattie · 29/07/2017 09:03

BTM - mine could have done this given that he's from the Alps - I think the mountains don't make for romantic types.

bigTillyMint · 29/07/2017 10:17

Herbs I hope you have told him yes now! We are all planning our wedding outfits Grin

motherinferior · 29/07/2017 13:44

And the dark and stormy reception!
