Good luck, BD

Working from home here today which is good because easier to do DS's exam breakfast; can be less good if DH confuses it with just being at home.

Beautiful day. Am resolved to enjoy not being in office and take chance to exercise.

motherinferior · 13/06/2017 07:49

I do not feel very awake and should be at my desk. May indulge self with 20mins reading papers online in bed and will still be at desk for 8.30...

In S&B news can someone please find me a Hufflepuff dressing-gown for DD2's birthday which is fast approaching? She will be 14 but is v little.

Rosenspants · 13/06/2017 08:12

they do a small/medium but I don't know if too big

motherinferior · 13/06/2017 09:30

Fabbo - but yes, she is shorter than I am and vv slight...

msmargarita · 13/06/2017 18:40

lovely sandals. lovely weather not quite living up to its forecast

exams at this end 'alright' apparently so far. ds not inclined to be communicative.

hunching over home laptop really no good. it always feels lots more tense than being in the office and that feels tense enough. am presuming most people have job that doesn't make them feel sick most mornings

in s&b news or rather public resolve, will wear zara trousers dd persuaded me to buy BY END OF WEEK

NoCureForLove · 13/06/2017 19:21

Link to trews please MsM...?

Montypulciano · 13/06/2017 20:08

I like a nice trouser, MsM

We will need a new thread soon. Any ideas?

MrsKlugscheisser · 13/06/2017 20:11

In other news, I have gin and the cat is constipated. DH is out, presumably with his GBF, and not answering his phone. So I will eat all of the mac and cheese shortly.

NUFC69 · 13/06/2017 20:27

Still no baby, although it's not due until Thursday. DDiL very fed up still; I think the problem is that the previous baby was 7 weeks' early so we've all been focused on that and assumed this one would be the same.

DD's 4 yo has just been for her pre-school check with the HV. All fine - she is on 91 centimetres for height and 75 for weight, so is probably going to be an Amazon. I was a bit taken aback with the "goodies" she came away with: a bag, water bottle, nit comb, hi-vis waistcoat and a book about starting school! Is this the norm these days?

How did the exam students do today? Huge sympathies for them and their grown ups.

Blackduck · 13/06/2017 21:21

Sorry re meet - make a date and I'll see what I can do!

bigTillyMint · 13/06/2017 21:27

Right, I make it 10 on the 7th -v- 9 on the 14th. So shall we go with the 7th?

herbaceous · 13/06/2017 21:32

Pre school check? Such luxury. We had no health checks once I stopped taking DS to the clinic at about six months.
Have just made Accidental Cauliflower Fritters. The recipe was for carrots (plus spices, coriander etc) but we had an ageing cauliflower so I substituted. And they were yum!

herbaceous · 13/06/2017 21:33

Re thread, Crepey Coalition of Chaos?

Stropperella · 13/06/2017 21:37

Rudy said to take her off the list for the 7th, I thought. Not that I'm angling for the 14th or anything... Grin

NoCureForLove · 13/06/2017 22:01

Yes to thread title Herbs... and recipe for cauliflower fritters please! I love cauliflower. And I love fritters...

herbaceous · 13/06/2017 23:17

Herewith recipe - I can't find an online version that doesn't require subscription, so hope you can read photo. Substitute cauliflower for carrots!

Where were we? Flipping those darn flat pancakes again
msmargarita · 14/06/2017 06:21

BTM - perhaps best take me off list for 7th and go for 14th then as I can't be 100% certain

Most like this but nicer as better stripes: www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/trousers/culottes/culottes-c718504p4442563.html
look marvellous on DD who is size smaller than me ...
have been in my drawer for weeks and this si the only weather fro them as they are v light. am just being silly

good luck for DDIL, NU

Herbs, thanks for recipe - my family love a fritter

beautiful morning. DS last exam this week this morning

bigTillyMint · 14/06/2017 06:34

Oh god, I'm lost Grin

Right, 14th then for MU? IS THAT A DECISION?!

bigTillyMint · 14/06/2017 06:47

MsMargarita, put them on - they will look great on you!

msmargarita · 14/06/2017 07:34

Thanks, btm. They are on!

And I am on bus and hoping that dh is promot and efficient with exam breakfast as ds's exam is 9 today and maths, his least favourite paper.

Illwill and tension a plenty in Casablanca saddle this morning. Skip removal turned up at 5.30, dh didn't sleep well and dd broke her eyebrow pencil and is clearly running late and looking fr someone to blame. Glad to be out of it.

IDismyname · 14/06/2017 08:04

SadSadSad

Can't do 14th. Off on hols the next day.

Maybe I'll get to meet more of you eventually... Sad

MsMartini · 14/06/2017 08:36

You will Airborne, you will.

dd back and worried about various things including possibility of summer job falling through. More comings and goings over next few weeks, makes me lomg for the sort of summer holiday we had where we went somewhere and stayed there!

MrsWobble3 · 14/06/2017 08:47

MsM, me too. I am finding it really hard to get my head around this summer there are so many comings and goings - and that's just the ones I know about. I think I have decided that as of 30 June all occupants of the WobbleHouse are adults and thus my caring/housekeeping duties are over and they can all fend for themselves. This is what dh is advocating. But I can't bear the prospect of living it what will be essentially a student houseshare with associated arguments over milk and toilet paper so am still thinking.

It's very hard to deal with though when you have such final honed control freak tendencies as I do.

MsMartini · 14/06/2017 08:59

MrsW, exactly exactly. Our house is small and our fridge smaller - we don't have space to stock up or spread out or leave shoes around. It cannot be a free for all. I had a go last summer with a list of jobs for each week but because of the comings and goings it was impossible to establish a routine. ds is quite good at just doing very small things if I ask him and I think dd may be getting marginally better (she seems slightly shamefaced abotu what her bf had said about her packing methods, I will slip him a tenner when I see him Grin). But it will be in MY HEAD!
