I have towels we got given for wedding presents and sheets my parents passed on (not bought for me) when I went to university.

And yes, whoever said that, they never wear out. Whereas the Egyptian cotton sheets I got given as a wedding present wore out in the middle and I would have needed to employ that 'sides to middle' thing Anne of Green Gables and others without John Lewis used to do to make things last longer.

So 14th looking favourite so far, or poss 1st?

Back from ashes scattering in Whitby: it was quite a happy occasion as DFr's DM would have been 91 today! I have never been to anything like this near water and can recommend. We sailed out to the bell buoy (so out of the harbour) and scattered ashes and flowers. It does mean that there is no focal point for grief, but probably best, and I am thinking I might do something similar - hopefully not too soon! It was also suggested that we have a MU in a year's time on the weekend nearest to celebrate.

I can't do the MU in July as we're away one way or another for most of it.

NU, that sounds like a lovely occasion...

Have done some teen date wrangling and I can probably do 7/8th too

Hi - July out for me I'm afraid - to much confusion with when and where DC's are at various times at the moment. Plus need a long run in for cheap Eurostar. Would love to see everybody and will be around more next year with DD1 in London.
