I have made East purchases before, partly in chazzers - in fact I went to my mother's funeral last year in an east silk-velvet dress.

motherinferior · 27/05/2017 11:39

Omg are pikolinos comfortable??? I want those trainers!!!!

Rosenspants · 27/05/2017 11:57

Rosenspants · 27/05/2017 12:03

Rosenspants · 27/05/2017 12:04

My Pikolinos are gloriously comfortable. They are about as old lady as I'm prepared to get..

Stropperella · 27/05/2017 12:10

Love the Hotter poems!
I have always had to have "sturdy" shoes as I have hypermobile ankles. Also my feet are so wide that I used to have great difficulty in finding "normal" shoes to fit. It's so much easier these days. And I have to have ultra-supportive shoes or my back hurts.
I have some lovely Pikolinos long boots which have done sterling service this spring.

Cremolafoam · 27/05/2017 13:17

If i had somewhere anywhere nice to go id get this from East
There are a few unfugly things there but not many.
I did go through an East phase in my late 30s when i was obliged to look a certain way for a job and was 18stone. V hard to get clothes that look smart at that size.

herbaceous · 27/05/2017 15:33

Jewellery fans! Especially ggg! Or 'love'! In my perambulations through shoreditch today I happened upon the most marvellous little jewellery maker and shop, called comfort station. They make English engraved with Leonard Cohen quotes! And necklaces incorporating the coordinates of the brightest star in the solar system. And other intellectual yet not pretentious stuff.

Check. It. Out.

Modestine · 27/05/2017 15:45

The anthem cuff has sold out. Did you look at the prices, Herbs? Shock

Rose, would the East colour block shift dress suit me? I like a bit of turquoise, and the pic is very tempting.

herbaceous · 27/05/2017 16:41

I did see the prices. Thought they fell into Special Treat territory. Or Guilt Purchase. So, to be borne in mind.

Rosenspants · 27/05/2017 16:54

Moddy the colour block dress has good reviews. I like the way it is a shift shape but goes in at the waist. I think it most deffo would suit you....and hopefully yours truly as well. Very tempted and love linen for the summer. The turquoise loose one looks gorgeous for throwing on over swimwear or as a dress, or over trousers/jeans/leggings. Might be a bit blousy through...

Off to check out Comfort Station...

herbaceous · 27/05/2017 16:56

There's the anthem ring though....

motherinferior · 27/05/2017 16:58

Grr re shoes. Just been into the Sensible Shoe Shop quite near BTM which refuses to stock size 3. Why? WHY??????

Modestine · 27/05/2017 17:18

My jewellery comes from Reward Purchases, after dh has been mean to me. Angry Sad I go and buy something outrageously pricey. I have a lot of such jewellery. Sad fucking bastard

Cremolafoam · 27/05/2017 18:04

How very dare he modestine? I have my dh trained in this kind of thing. He even managed somehow ( dd may or may not have been involved) to buy a bejewelled necklace last Christmas.
Modern jewellery would be a step too far and it is much more pleasurable anyway, to buy it for oneself with someone else's credit card obviously 🙄
I do like to browse nude Grin

MsMartini · 27/05/2017 18:50

Rose, thank you, I love some of those dresses and hadn't though of East in the great if totally half-hearted graduation dress hunt.

IDismyname · 27/05/2017 19:00

Ha! We have another birthday in the Crepey fold, as it's DSs birthday today, too. He's working a double shift, so he's just been on our bed opening his cards (no actual presents - just hard cash) and is off to work. Not sure if a cake would be appreciated or if I can be asrsed in this heat.

I think to get away from any frumpiness with those Hotter shoes, one needs to look at the colours. Silver or bright colour = pretty good. Anything beige-y = not so...

Rosenspants · 27/05/2017 19:08

Blimey...is that three crepey by association birthdays??

Modestine · 27/05/2017 19:30

I'm on my way out the door today, Crem. It's the parallel play thing - he simply can't work collaboratively (obvs) so when we do work on the house, firstly, it's uncoordinated, secondly, he resists change, thirdly, he fucks things up, fourthly, he gets tired and bites my head off, fifthly, he only sees himself working hard and expects lots of praise and sympathy, when actually I am working my socks off but he does not perceive it and certainly doesn't offer me any validation. Furthermore, he just does not get the fact that he is bigger and stronger than me, so it is not fair to expect me to lift things I can't manage. If his parents had only taught him chivalry as an olde worlde reason to treat women reasonably. But no.

Any of us trying to lift stuff with him are in serious danger of injury. It makes one very nervous. I'm sure that sounds like an exaggeration, but it isn't.

Rosenspants · 27/05/2017 20:05

Sad *Moddy] xx

NUFC69 · 27/05/2017 20:26

Oh dear, Moddt, that sounds grim. Rose, I love the East clothes, am now trying to find the nearest shop - I have got as close as Durham. I did manage to buy a fine white cardigan in the Next outlet when we went to get DGD her new sandals - needless to say her feet have grown so she not only wanted sandals, but needed new trainers. She is now a size 10 (at 4.0 yo) when do they start slapping VAT on them?

MrsKlugscheisser · 27/05/2017 20:27

I am refusing to cook dinner as I wasn't supposed to be here anyway. Am inclined just to go to bed.

MsMartini · 27/05/2017 20:51

I would, MrsK. Laptop, boxset, headphones. Sod it all.

There aren;t many East shops are there (first world problem no 1514)?

MsMartini · 27/05/2017 20:51

Modestine Sad.
