To be honest Crem - I won't go for it again much as I love it - I just need to be able to wipe down. Would ideally like marble - ha in my dreams!

herbaceous · 25/05/2017 11:22

Ooh crem! Those dresses are in my favourite colour! Please tell me they're very cheap and would suit me.

herbaceous · 25/05/2017 11:30

In worktop news we have iroko. It's pretty great, and only a bit of blackness behind the taps on the silicone.

Cremolafoam · 25/05/2017 11:46

Not especially dear Herbs. £49&£45 plus 20%off with MAY25 code. Also no upfront payment so you get 14 days to choose after delivery without payment. Likey!Wink
Of to investigate Iroko.Grin

Cremolafoam · 25/05/2017 11:47

Off not of obv.

Modestine · 25/05/2017 11:55

MI, I keep thinking of the Botanic Gardens - the Cambridge one, the Oxford one. And there are many others. No idea if they allow ashes to be scattered in them, but surely they must. Plus in many such places you can pay for a seat with a plaque, which imvho would be lovely.

As well as Botanic Gardens, there are such seats all over Wimbledon Common, at seaside resorts and so on, the Malvern Hills - you are offering a lovely place to sit for all the people visiting, forever. I always think fondly of the Malvern Hills ones, because people sitting on them have made a huge effort to get up there, and really value the fact that there's a seat there. Especially if they are approaching the final destination themselves, as my dad was, when we used to go up there. Smile

motherinferior · 25/05/2017 12:44

I will suggest it...

Modestine · 25/05/2017 12:51

Don't worry, I'm ready for it to be totally rubbished. Grin

IDismyname · 25/05/2017 14:57

If its any consolation, MI (and I don't think it will be...), we still have MILs ashes and she died....ohhhh... about 8 years ago.

In fact I hadn't realised that the funeral directors were still holding onto them, until they sent a letter by recorded delivery. DH had ignored all previous letters sent by ordinary post.

DH and DMIL never got on very well (which I think has coloured his relationships with women, anyway...) and the abandonment of the ashes didn't surprise me at all.

I insist they 'live' in his study, and have nothing to do with them.

However, if they were my DMs ashes, I'd have scattered them long ago.

DSs' friend who died 2 months ago seems to be living inside his mother and a few friends in the form of a tattoo. I can't quite get my head round it. I'm hoping that DSs' money is earmarked for more bike related stuff, and not tattoos Hmm

I know several people who carry around small taped up silver boxes in their hand bags containing their spouses ashes.

IDismyname · 25/05/2017 15:03

Herbs - love your haul - esp the skirt. I may go and investigate.

Crem I'd forgotten about Finery until it was rather rubbished on the other SnB thread. I rather like their stuff, but am too big bosomed and fat of arse to carry most of it off. I'm in love with one of their white shirts...

The other SnB thread I refer to is this: Sali Hughes

It makes a VERY interesting read, and has heaps of suggestions for clothing. Its quite Crepey orientated - I know I've seen a few of you there...

hattymattie · 25/05/2017 15:40

The Finery stuff looks nice but I cannot wear puffy sleeves or those wide clown trousers that are currently in vogue. Also - astonished that culottes have come back - already in the late 90's they managed to make everybody's arse look enormous.

bigTillyMint · 25/05/2017 17:35

Cremo, we have wood worktops sealed with something that makes a film ontop so easily wipeable. No black bits despite DH. Yet!

NU, MM, Auriga and other regulars, please do PM me if you would like to join the Whats App group chat. It is completely private and only viewable to those of us in the group. A bit like a group PM Smile

CointreauVersial · 25/05/2017 19:16

I have had a rush of blood to the head and have taken tomorrow off. DH is also off, and there is an INSET at the school. Too bad DD1 and DS have to go in for exams.

Am now sitting on the patio looking up mojito recipes, as I have a surfeit of mint. But no soda water, dammit.

Cremolafoam · 25/05/2017 19:19

Yes BTM, exactly. Also not a lot of rinsing goes on in our sink. We put everything in the dishwasher, and I mean everything. I only use stainless steel pans etc due to having previously been a caterer and knowing despite having spent a fortune on Circulon pans and heaven knows what else, that SS (and enamel) is the best. ( for me).
Having a lot of fun redesigning the kitchen. The lady yesterday was brilliant and enjoyed my constant interruption with Pinterest boards and DeVol pictures. Ahem, well, she was very patient. Grin
Dh has pointed out that we should really have somewhere to put food items. Oops, maybe a bit too much worrying about how things look.

Cremolafoam · 25/05/2017 19:24

Fluffy, I read that post, as I am a The Pool Subscriber. I did learn some stuff about what you can get out there , rather than worrying about what you can't. I have always enjoyed the chase, looking for a particular item of clothing, in a certain colour, in a plus size or short leg, or chunky foot or rather heaving décolletage. Grin I suppose it's like the travel searching thing. I love the search.

msmargarita · 25/05/2017 19:39

My df's ashes are in my wardrobe. Scattered a bit with my db and dsis around my mothers bench and a few furtively in their local harbour but still seem to hv loads. He wanted them scattered in bp but it's proving almost impossible to get the three of us together.

Sali Hughes thread reminded me of Agnes b clothes which I used to love in the sale - still have couple if items. Anyone shop there or comotoir des cottoniers?

Am heading back from work straight towards large glass of fizz. Too much work.

But tomorrow meeting old friend I haven't seen fr 25 years tho we've exchanged Christmas cards. Hooray/gulp.

NUFC69 · 25/05/2017 19:42

Love Herbs' purchases - I rarely go near a large Sainsbury's, unfortunately (local ones are all small). DD buys quite a lot of stuff from them and she invariably looks good in it.

This is rather convoluted, BTM, but I have sent my mobile no to MI and asked her to pass it on to you because I would like to join the Whatsapp group, please.

Glorious day here and the temperature reached 25 which is unusual. DH and I decided we would abandon honest toil and go out in my car with the top down. It was lovely, but unfortunately the main road to Jedburgh was blocked by an accident (probably a death, I think). The diversion went on for miles and miles and I felt really sorry for the long distance travellers.

bigTillyMint · 25/05/2017 21:41

CV you could make DnS!!!

NU, you could just PM me it? Are you already on WA?

Rosenspants · 25/05/2017 21:47

I am lolling in the sun lounge with the lights off and the doors open and there is a lovely breeze. An exhausting and eventful day, DDs Birthday with her exams in the morning, DS2 finally passing his sodding driving test... and now DH muttering on like an old git, about having no idea what car he's going to drive.....Then DDs birthday supper at local pizza express with her friends...we sat at a distant table and I had the Niçoise salad.....my halo shineth bright. suffering extreme Pizza envy

I am wearing a black Next linen shift from last year in desperation...it's lovely and and loose and cool, but the lack of leggings or jeans means my knickers roll down below my lovely overhang..and it's sooooo uncomfortable. must get around to trying those Sloggies...

bigTillyMint · 25/05/2017 21:50

NU, you're in!

bigTillyMint · 25/05/2017 21:53

Or smaller knickers, Rose Grin

motherinferior · 25/05/2017 21:54

Or, er, noneWink

Cremolafoam · 25/05/2017 22:21

Yes I can recommend commando GrinHaloor do as Rudy used to do. Just wear them on your head.
