Aww Trumpton memories. Thank you ladies - I'll go for it. I have tried it - I need Small in Cos, am normally size 10/12 - I even rather liked the XS over a T shirt but will size up for other stuff. Cloud it was you - do you find the collar stands a little high when done right up or is that just my weird neck. It looks brilliant open. We'll have to check in advance that we're not wearing the same thing should we meet up Wink

hattymattie · 13/04/2017 12:37

Wow Rudy - lovely screen but Shock @ £££.

Rudy, it is lovely. But £££ - definitely wait for the sale! Or do a DIY version?!
I like the chair and ottoman too.

GGG love the Trumpton pics - I had the Mrs Pepperpot book and is that Mrs Honeyman?Grin

Cremolafoam · 13/04/2017 13:30

Gosh Rudy, im sure you could commission a one off piece from a good artist for that price. I like it a lit though

IDismyname · 13/04/2017 16:26

Rudy - when I first saw the screen, I thought as others did, that you could commission someone to do a similar thing, but on reading the description, maybe not...

(I bet, however, they pay some poor lass in the back end of Asia 50p a panel...)

With regards to the armchair and ottoman, it looks like one sold for about £1,600 on ebay (collection only) - so that might be an option... or try Preloved. I don't think they charge selling fees.

Alternatively, take some good photos, and send them to a few auction houses, and a few vintage furniture shops, and see what kind of response you get. You may be surprised or utterly disappointed (as we were!)

GGG - I must tell you that in 'hommage' to your pink sofa, I have purchased pink velvet cushions to go on mine. You have immpecable taste - and that goes for Cos coatigans too. I wish they did them in a few more colours.

Hattie - the neck is 'cut' quite close to the neck, and thats why I wear a scarf with it. TBH, I normally wear it either open, or with a middle button done up to show I have some semblance of a waist! HTH

herbaceous · 13/04/2017 16:41

I had a quick look at Etsy, Rudy, to see if they had similar screens, but no. Agree it's lovely, but quite absurd price.

Re cardigans, I'm after something long and arse-covering but yet fitted. I'd probably wear it open, so it could be sans buttons and a few sizes too small, as it's function would be purely aesthetic. Any tips? A chum has just the thing from All Saints, but that's too pricey.

Those agog may be thrilled to know that I bit the, haha, Nutribullet and bought a reconditioned one from Ebay for £30. It arrived just now, so I shall have a play with it.

Spent jolly time in Epping Forest today having our traditional Easter Egg hunt. Those on Facebook may witness the terrifying Easter Bunny costume donned by one of my gamer chums.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 13/04/2017 17:26

Well thank you kindly Cloud!
You should see my leopard print wallpaper (that made ds2 cry...). Apparently far from having any sort of good taste I am beyond embarrassing. To c9nfirm their worst opinion of me I have spent this afternoon dying my hair (temporarily) pastel pink... mwahahahaha.

CV - Where are you? Hope all's OK?

IDismyname · 13/04/2017 17:39

Rudy - OKA Clearance
It says you can call them if you're after something in particular...

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/04/2017 17:52

I am having yet another D & S...

OP posts:
motherinferior · 13/04/2017 18:04

I have Nice Gin waiting. And many nice sorts of curry defrosting, thus demonstrating to DP that there is a point in cooking extra and freezing. I also have an aubergine that a friend donated as she's going away, and masses of carrots, so I may chop and roast it with spices...

...though DD1 has just asked if she can go out with friends.

IDismyname · 13/04/2017 18:23

I'm off dancing and THEN will have large gin.

Have made Butternut Squash lasagne, using sheets of BNS instead of pasta. Its sitting there looking - by all accounts - like a normal version.

Am toying with the idea of keeping schtum, and see what happens. The men in this house are very veg-averse, despite the fact I work my bottom off in our veg patch.

wordassociationfootball · 13/04/2017 18:35

FULL of M&S gluten free coffee and walnut cake.... and off this second to Pilates. I'm definitely not glutton free.

hattymattie · 13/04/2017 19:16

Keep schtum Cloud - and report back to us. DS has just said not roasted veg again - I blame MI. In fairness it was sweet potato chips, peppers, garlic and lamb sausages from M&S.

Am going to settle down and watch Masterchef and The Good Fight, which so far is quite excellent.

Tomorrow, after long negotiations - DS and I are going to attempt a cultural sortie to the Louvre - after which I shall buy my cardigan.

motherinferior · 13/04/2017 19:21

I am forgoing the roasting on account of DD1 being out. I shall grate and dress a carrot instead.

This editing is still going on. I WANT GIN.

Cremolafoam · 13/04/2017 19:22

Ooh fascinated by the pink hair GGG.
Is it candy floss or fuchsia or Orchid? I have had all those in my yoof.
I have wanted mine dipped in navy for a while now, but fear ridicule and possible loss of job, although what a way to go!Hmm
Waf pre-Pilates Cake tastes nicer I think. Nice to have you back from NY, and so delighted you had such a memorable time. Dd wil really remember it.Smile

Cremolafoam · 13/04/2017 20:34

Can I ask a Crepey question. Magi I think linked to a clothing website/ item of clothing recently. Can I have the link again please..
Tia

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/04/2017 20:50

I had drinks with a friend I haven't seen for years and years. I knew she was a bit older than me, but didn't realise quite how much until she told me that she was 70 and her DD was 41! Her DD is permanently 19 to me. And all of our mutual friends, who are nearer her age than mine, are dead. Shock I needed those D & S, I can tell you.

CV are you involved in real life, or trapped under something heavy and need rescuing?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 13/04/2017 20:55

Tis this Crem [[http://shop.bleachlondon.co.uk/collections/super-cool-colours/products/bleach-super-cool-colours-rose pink hair dye - but more subtle than the image innit - on account of putting it on my grey but not bleached hair... it fades pretty damn quick so it's only a bit of fun rather than a huge commitment... You would look simply fabulous with dip dyed navy hair!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 13/04/2017 20:56

second attempt!

herbaceous · 13/04/2017 22:09

Jesus Chris on a hover donkey. There can be nothing more boring than a Maundy Thursday service. I'm sure all the foot-washing, quaver-eating and candle-extinguishing is terribly moving if one is a believer, but to a heathen just there for ferrying purposes, it is so loooooooooooooong. Nearly. Two Hours.

And playing Candy Crush I feel would be frowned upon.
