And me to with the WTFU.

I have stopped wringing my hands over my novel and decided to fix it.Smile

Nice day for a Ladyjog too.

BD, to quote a former military colleague of mine, "Man the Fuck Up, Princess."

Do it, and do it now.

Go, BD. Go, MI.

Cloud, thank you for pondering, that is helpful. I will have a look. Rose, I did manage to go to a White Stuff and found two. And had a satisfying moan with the Nice Lady in charge (WS now has sofas and cups of tea available - presumably for shoppers overcome with frustration and rage at designers making clothes with holes in).

motherinferior · 13/04/2017 09:01

WS also has nice jeans which don't have polyester in them. Weirdly both DD1 and i both like them.

I must go and do last month's accounts. This involves a mere five (5, v) minutes with a spreadsheet but I hate it. I must also pay my accountantBlush.

motherinferior · 13/04/2017 09:29

Btw, I give you ONE guess why DP wants to cut our family holiday short.Angry

Stropperella · 13/04/2017 09:30

BTM, thanks for the vote of confidence in my driving. Smile I think my driving for getting from A to B is fine, it's just the my getting-into-tight-parking-spaces skills which are lacking. Also, I hate reversing long distances. I have to drive a lot, as there is no other option living where we do. If I wanted to get to my place of work using public transport, it would mean two trains, a bus between stations and a taxi at the other end and take over 2 hours. And cost a fortune.

BD, I'm not up to speed with what's going on, but I'm joining the cheerleading team for you

Auriga, I'm sorry you're still feeling so ill. I hope you get some relief from those extremely unpleasant-sounding symptoms soon.

Anyone heard from CV?

I'm feeling as though I need to admit that drinking alcohol in any quantity is just bad for me and I should adjust my settings accordingly. This makes me feel a bit cross and old.

Stropperella · 13/04/2017 09:32

MI, there were some blokes doing Tai chi in a gale on the top of Glastonbury Tor yesterday. I thought of you. Grin

BD MI - Get going!

I have to go to a funeral today so have been looking out dress & tights - can't remember the last time I wore such stuff.

Very sad, it's my lovely neighbour who had a stroke earlier this year & then a perforated bowel. Early 80's. I really miss her - we did not live in each others pockets but often met in the road & just had a chat & a laugh. She worked for a TV company in the 60's & some of her stories Shock. I saw a photo of her from that era & she looked like Jean Shrimpton.

motherinferior · 13/04/2017 10:01

Oh Magi, how very sad.

Stropps, that's just...uncanny! How did you guess????

Stropperella · 13/04/2017 10:09
Grin
Cremolafoam · 13/04/2017 10:10

Mm awfully sorry about your lovely friend and neighbour. Sounds like she was an interesting woman. Sad

Ooh Rudy will it have repercussions? Hope not.

BD do enough that you are proud of self by this evening. Wishing you luck

Stropperella · 13/04/2017 10:10

I'm sorry about your friend, Magi. Sad

Is it too early for lunch? I'm hungry!

wordassociationfootball · 13/04/2017 11:27

You neighbours sounded great MM.

(Although think Crem's mini metro had an extremely interesting life, espesh for a car)

wordassociationfootball · 13/04/2017 11:31

BTM Sad re lack of tranquility. Have been thinking about what you said about your last trip to DM.

Monty - I saw your doppelganger aged about 20 in New York!

hattymattie · 13/04/2017 11:42

Ha Rudy - I reckon we're at that crepey age where we say what we think and don't care. Mind you DD2 seems to have been born like this.

MM - so sad about the funeral. I feel we've hit the age where we are at more funerals than weddings. Even worse when it's close friends - brings us face to face with our own mortality.

WAF - Monty's doppelganger is my friend from Barnes - I really must get them together sometime, they would get on so well.

Next door's cat is sitting on the shed looking in at my whilst I eat. Tis a little disconcerting.

Is this nice, or is it like a dressing gown? I would buy it in navy. I think somebody linked to it before and I've been hankering ever since.

IDismyname · 13/04/2017 12:12

'Twas me, Hattie - I have it in navy, and it has been worn a lot since I got it. Get nice comments about it, too.

I'm not sure of your colouring, but its quite a dark navy, so I (being blonde) jazz it up with either a quirky brooch, or scarf. Normally a white or cream t shirt underneath.

I've washed it once in the machine, and draped it over the range cooker to dry. It took a while as its quite thick.

Rudy You are correct!

Could I have linky to expensive screen? - also, what kind of furniture?

We are trying to shift some furniture, and are appalled at the auction reserves being put on the items. However, when you look at the vintage/ antique places, the same pieces cost a FORTUNE at retail prices. Like a 2000% hike... Shock

GiddyGiddyGoat · 13/04/2017 12:16

Hattty I have that very cardigan from a couple of years back - mine is cobalt blue - it's very useful - somewhere between a cardi and a jacket - which is perfect for this time of year. It's BIG - I have a medium - and quite voluminous (A line shape) so need to be mindful of what you're teaming it with - if I wore it over an A line dress / skirt (which I don't!) I would look like Mrs Pepperpot (remember her?) or a character from Trumpton (can't NB her name....).
Recommend it highly.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 13/04/2017 12:17

Cloud! My cardi twin!
