Oh Beachy - wish I could pour you a large Ginand give you a big {{}}
I think the anticipation is tge worst thing...

magimedi · 07/04/2017 21:49

Just my love & thoughts to all of you who are having such a hard time.

Gin or Cake, whichever does the trick & always Flowers to you all.

Lalsy · 07/04/2017 22:53

Beachy, that sounds utterly, drainingly, exhausting.

Stropps, I love your shoes. Good for dd, hope she finds something that might float her boat a little.

Even though I can tell all the characters apart, Line of Duty is much less suitable for those with brain fog than Masterchef.....

Cremolafoam · 07/04/2017 23:35

Oh Beachy , Lalsy Is right. Utterly draining. Hope you sleep a dreamless sleep my friend.

Stropperella · 08/04/2017 00:38

Lovely Beachy, you're doing what you can, but you've not got a magic ward and you can't work miracles. You need to detach a bit to keep your sanity. And don't forget: you can lead a horse to water, but you most definitely cannot make it drink.

hattymattie · 08/04/2017 08:11

Beachy - sending love and hugs - living with uncertainty like that is utterly draining.

BTM sorry I missed your post yesterday(my eye was drawn to Stropp's shoesSmile).

Lalsy - it's Broadchurch which has confounded me - I cannot remember the links back to series one.

bigTillyMint · 08/04/2017 08:23

Sympathies from me too Beachy - Hatty is right - the uncertainty is draining, never mind the day-to-day stuff. Like Stropps says, none of us have magic wands (thoigh our DHs seem to hope we can work all the magic!)

Lovely BFFs plied me with lots of lovely gin (they have a wide selection!) and took me out for a Thai which was fab. And it looks like it's going to be a bright sunshiney day todaySmile

magimedi · 08/04/2017 08:23

And don't forget: you can lead a horse to water, but you most definitely cannot make it drink.

Wise words & so applicable to teenagers!

Am off to Brighton to meet an old friend for a wander, Wine & some lunch.

Day 3 & vacuum bag still holding up!

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/04/2017 08:51

Crem this blueberry cake is the best ever. Mmm.

Hugs, love and gin to BTM, BD, Beachy and others having a crap time.

We are off to see Dear Mama this morning. Unfortunately DH has a stonking hangover, having drunk both of my bottles of Nice Provencal Rose last night. I thought they were safe, as he claimed to be not drinking at the moment.

No hangover here. Halo

Oh yes. Blame Deflection. Grin

Rosebag · 08/04/2017 09:23

Oh Cloud so sorry....are you feeling a little better today? Can you get out into this lovely sun to try and lift the mood a bit? Flowers Flowers Flowers

Oh Beachy We are only human..(although Crepey mothers are super human IMHO) and getting assailed by overwhelming sadness and tears is something we all recognise. I won't forget last summer with two doing exams (off the back of DH's redundancy and Ddads death in the previous year.)...one who was always going to do well and had an unconditional offer but put huge pressure on himself (and as I discovered later dealt with his stress by pulling out his hair...all my fault apparently...) and one who, whatever she did, was only going to scrape a few unremarkable passes, if at all..more likely fail. She never did any revision without me or DH sitting with her. I woke up every day from April with a lead weight in the pit of my stomach. Hang on in there - there are better things to come but just as we don't see the sadness creeping up on us, we may not see the good things coming either and just have to be more mindful of them, when they do happen. Flowers Flowers Flowers

DD is off to Camden with friends shortly...still coughing and spluttering. I have arranged to have lunch with my lovely authoress neighbour whose partner is away for a month. Dh still away. DS2 still in Barcelona.

Crepey Masterchef lady was wearing dungarees last night...just saying....

Cremolafoam · 08/04/2017 10:38

Yes Faye looked great in the dungarees Rose. I reckon, try on a few pairs and see how you go.you are utterly marvellous btw, dealing with that lot last year.
Oh Beachy, yes with the weeping. Often and mostly inappropriately. I agree with the wise words of Stropps and the benefits of detaching. It was a real struggle for me, but saved me completely realising I could not live dds life for her or prop her up constantly . Great breathing out exercise.
Dd let slip that she has no bedsheets and has been sleeping on a bare mattress "for ages". Expletive deleted. Have sent two fitted sheets despite her not knowing what size the bed is.Angry

Where is the sun? We were promised it today but it is depressingly grey.

Stropperella · 08/04/2017 11:00

Today's footwear. And dungarees.

The Crepertoire - put on your peignoir and get into the boudoir
bigTillyMint · 08/04/2017 11:03

It's up here, Cremo!
And eeuuwww at no bedsheets! In a rented flat too Grin

Stropps you clearly should have been a reception class teacher Grin

Goldfishjane · 08/04/2017 12:03

Clothes note - first order from Jaeger arriving today. I'm notoriously tight but found a nice jacket on the outlet thing and haven't bought new clothes for more than about 5 years!!! So I will be interested to see what that's like - £200 to £30 allegedly. Never ever bought anything high quality before.

Almeida Hamlet. OMD. Only went because of Andrew Scott but while he is wonderful he is not the only wonderful thing about the production, which is extraordinary.

As this is style and beauty - tenuous link - I won't blither but it is the most stylish production I've seen as well. The set is amazing.

And Jessica Brown Findlay - Ophelia is no longer pointless. Amazing.
and Juliet Stevenson wonderful as ever.

I wonder how that lovely set will appear in the West End transfer? It will lose something in a bigger theatre I think.

Stropperella · 08/04/2017 12:06

BTM, there is still time for me to become a children's entertainer. I would be one of the faintly upsetting sort that no one would ever hire twice. Grin

Collymollypuff · 08/04/2017 12:30

BTM, I am in awe of you juggling exams, your teens plus your very sick mum. Thank god you are so good at friendship. Star

Beachy, it is awful. I bloody hate exams and revision, especially by proxy, it is the worst.

Cloud, I hope you feel a bit less sad today. It's a gorgeous sunny day there, hope you're enjoying some sun.

MM, there is to be a Constable exhibition in Brighton, showing his paintings of Brighton from when he lived there. Not sure if it has actually opened yet?

MrsS, I still have the gf flour you gave me - uncooked!!! Thank you so much...I will use it...

hattymattie · 08/04/2017 12:37

Rose - absolutly brilliant of your DH to have sat with DD for her revision. Well done to both of you. Agree about teenagers blaming everybody and not taking responsibility. I know a few adults like that as well.

Boiling here almost too hot. I'd like to walk in the forest with DH but he has ...a corn.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 08/04/2017 12:38

Fab shoes, Stropps, and fab advice, as always.....

I am backing off ds and have just spent an hour wandering in town, looking at inappropriate clothes....

I saw this and am considering it for a family wedding in September.....www.phase-eight.com/fcp/product/phase-eight/shop-all-dresses/zoe-swing-dress/204052250

hatty - wondering where you are that is boiling? Cuba? Grin

Collymollypuff · 08/04/2017 12:39

I REALLY like that, Beachy. Lovely cut. Lovely colour. You'd look amazing in that.

motherinferior · 08/04/2017 12:57

Mes pieds sont bien Penges, innit.

The Crepertoire - put on your peignoir and get into the boudoir
motherinferior · 08/04/2017 12:58

I also want that frock.

GFJ, that reduction is either brilliant or alarming!
