Sounds like the pinny works for you.
Dungarees must be oversized, white and worn with frill blouse. Very 1974
Cf Zara for info

Smart

I love dungarees. Both inferiorettes have denim ones.

MrsWobble3 · 07/04/2017 15:39

I wanted a dungaree dress and found a really nice one in American Apparel. Dd1 and 3 both (separately) said no in such horrified tones that I didn't dare but it. Still slightly regret it.

MrsS - why is your colleague allowed to be intractable and you're not? Have you got more to lose if the presentation goes badly? I thought you had secured a new job - would that be jeopardised? If not, then you are too conscientious for your own good.(feel free to apply same logic to filial duties).

Pleased for everyone enjoying the hols. Dh and I are off for a long weekend so shirking Snacks and Stability responsibilities having left 3 revising dds at home. But since two of them are taking revision sufficiently seriously to have entirely filled the weekend with other commitments I don't really feel guilty.

bigTillyMint · 07/04/2017 15:41

I'm not sure dungarees are the best on crepeys - best left to the young uns I fear!

I am on the last train of the day to my BFFs - hope she has a vat of him at the ready Grin The visit to DM was not good - She was very confused and is clearly hallucinating about strange and nasty men who may be hiding in her wardrobe or behind a picture on her wall Confused

motherinferior · 07/04/2017 15:45

Oh BTM Sad

My weekend ain't started yet and possibly won't till Sunday!

IDismyname · 07/04/2017 15:51

So sorry, BTM - such a long way to go to find DM so confused.

Hope you're now with BFF and large drink.

That beauty thread link has me feeling so confused - I barely have much of a routine!

MrsS - only come back to us when you've booked the holiday. Your DM is sorted for the time being. No time like the present! Go girl!

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 07/04/2017 15:54

So managed to get dc up and out in the sun for a walk and since then, nothing..... dd is moping as I've taken away her device and ds is in bed, not a jot of revision done At All.... I'm really not enjoying Easter hols at the moment Sad

I'm sorry, I can only think of Meryl Steep in Mamma Mia when I think of dungarees.... If she couldn't pull it off being Meryl Streep surrounded by hot young men, I'm not sure I could! Plus my boobs are too big and assume a shelf like presence in bibs....

Stropperella · 07/04/2017 16:01

Shoes I should probably not be wearing, but I don't care:

Stropperella · 07/04/2017 16:12

I also have some dungarees. I may wear the shoes with the dungarees. Grin
MrsS, you deserve a nice restful hol of your choosing.
BTM, I'm really sorry to hear your dm is in such a bad state. Can anything be done for her with medication? Hope you are having a lovely time with your bff and are able to forget about everything else this w/e.

RIP Hammy Inferior. Dd's first hamster is buried under a Jerusalem Sage bush, which is just about to flower for the first time. Gives me a good excuse never to weed that flower bed. The first few years I lived here, I kept accidentally exhuming loads of the previous house owner's pets. Was a bit disconcerting when I dug up a tortoise.

Beachy, sorry things aren't going smoothly.

Here, dd got an offer for the radiography course, but has turned it down and is applying for apprenticeships. I am not sure what sort of apprenticeships. I will have that convo another time.

Blackduck · 07/04/2017 16:40

Stropps those shoes are lush!!!

Here on my way home - two weeks NO work email. Had a son at work today because someone was nice to me. I'm clearly not in a good way.

Stropperella · 07/04/2017 16:52

Time to book your trip to Crete, BD?

hattymattie · 07/04/2017 17:15

Crete sounds a good plan BD.

Stropps - those look like real teacher shoes - my primary kids would love them. Shame about the radiography course - lets hope something she likes turns up.

Here DD2 has shown a huge amount (for her) of insight and said that at her school it was a bit of a bubble, where everybody was brought up in approximately the same way. Since going to University, she now understands how tough some people's lives have been. I think she quite appreciates us now. After that I bought her some shoes (maybe I've been manipulated).

Stropperella · 07/04/2017 17:53

Grin @ "teacher shoes", Hatty. Well, I have been working in a primary school today. I have also worn black for the first time in ages. I have decided I can wear it in spring without looking like the Bride of Dracula. In winter, it is a different matter.
I wonder what insights your dd2 will come out with on your next shopping trip. :) Mind you, my dd has a much greater appreciation of the magic always-full fridge and the magic laundry basket, even after only a paltry term at university.

hattymattie · 07/04/2017 18:07

Exactly Stropps - they appreciate home comforts but as Rudy pointed out that doesn't make them any tidier!

IDismyname · 07/04/2017 18:29

Feeling very grief stricken in the literal sense of the word.

Everyone else on 'Yay its Friday!' and I feel so low.

It's just come out of nowhere and hit me.

Time to swig some Rescue Remedy and fake it. Grin

Lalsy · 07/04/2017 18:54

Cloud, Flowers. And I will join you on the knocked for six bench.

BTM, sorry to hear about dm. Fear is horrible.

I like your dress, Rose.

Herbs, erm, Hotter lightweight type trainers.

motherinferior · 07/04/2017 19:43

Cloud, I am so sorry.

I've just finished work.

Cremolafoam · 07/04/2017 19:44

SadFlowerscloud FlowersLalsy SadBTM sorry Crepeys who are sad and under stress.
Open the Gin and put on a pair of big slacks 👖 and inhabit the sofa.
I am rewarding self after a K2 of ironing , bramble removal, and general furious stomping about the garden tutting about Trucking Fump and his cruise missile. Snarl.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 07/04/2017 20:06

Sorry to hear of lowness. Will join you on that bench after a sob fest at Tesco. Poor check out women only tutted at me twice as I wasn't paying attention to the speed of the queue Sad dd1 gave me hot tea and a fag in the sunshine when I got back.......

Cremolafoam · 07/04/2017 20:49

Oh Beachy, you poor thing.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 07/04/2017 21:21

Feeling bit better now, thanks.....

I think it's just the Groundhog Day thing, every day I get up and I think 'Today will be the day when.....' and then by about 3pm, I realise it's not.....

And then I kind of imagine this whole exam Tsunami coming and how awful it will be and the fact that I seem to be shouting into a vacuum about the Tsunami coming and everyone's just playing in the sand.....

I think I'm just exhausted but exhausted by doing absolutely nothing most of the time, just waiting, waiting, waiting.....

Sorry Sad
