Happy new year everyone!! As my Christmas present I have ordered a pair of these lovely boots but my friend who has them says they are a suede kind of leather. I really need them for muddy parks and dog walking so they need to be able to stand up to that. Does anyone have any and can tell me how robust they are?

Gosh they do look black! Shock

JLbaby · 27/01/2017 13:32

@RudyMentary - could you post a couple of pics of them on? I noticed the size 6 have come back in stock so I have ordered a pair! Just hope they are the correct size. I sized up as it seems lots of people have done so.

Belager · 27/01/2017 14:21

My stouts are here!

Lorelei76 · 27/01/2017 14:39

Thank you busy.
To those asking on size, I'm normally a 4 but ordered the 5 which is just right.

They just arrived!!!

So: size 8 for 40/41 foot in Stout.

Fit is perfect, I wouldn't want them any smaller.

Excuse the shit hasty photo with baggy jeans tucked out of sight!

Now I like that colour....it looked kind of different online.

Strummerville · 27/01/2017 20:03

Another sheep here, bought on the back of this thread and then convinced myself from reading the verdicts that they would be too small. Finally picked them up today and they fit perfectly!

I'm a 6, but possibly more a 6.5? I don't know, quite a few shoes and boots seem smaller now and 6 is sometimes on the pinchy side for me these last few years Confused. Anyway ordered these in a 6 and they fit like a glove, yay Grin

Might need to cancel my PJ day tomorrow and go somewhere now so I can try them out. Hmph.

Mine are going back they're just too wide at the top, they look like cut off wellies on me. I should learn, I love this style of boot but have never been able to find a pair that fits my legs and doesn't gape ridiculously Sad

CateGory8 · 28/01/2017 16:42

Wore my stout ones today and I think I like they are my favourites. If I had to keep just one pair then I would keep the stout ones. I really like the distressed brown colour. I have visions of me leaving the house with a stout on one foot and the black on the other.

I just ordered a pair in Stout after reading this thread last night. I was undecided about size..I'm a 5 and ordered a 5..hope they're ok. Looking forward to receiving them now!

BeastofCraggyIsland · 28/01/2017 20:33

Thanks Rudy, I've tried them with socks ruched up as I always tend to do that with ankle or short boots as I don't think I've ever found a pair that doesn't gape at least a bit on me, but I didn't think about them maybe softening a bit... I might try wearing them around the house for a few days as I've got plenty of time to return them. Worth a try cos I really love them otherwise, so thanks!

CateGory8 · 28/01/2017 22:02

Beast I've been looking on Pinterest for styling ideas and most biker boots are loose around the top. I've taken the liberty of grabbing a couple of pictures. I actually like that they have a little room. I do agree that they do soften up nicely.

I'm with cate on the gapey tops...but what about these ? They were also on my shortlist but I decided they were too tight round the ankle. Or there was another style that was snugger round the top, kids being demanding so no time to search but it was called Simms or something

ElspethFlashman · 29/01/2017 07:54

How embarrassing that mine don't really gape that much....Blush

PersisFord · 29/01/2017 08:01

That's because you have perfect, shapely calves! Grin

PidgeyfinderGeneral · 29/01/2017 08:03

I've just ordered them thanks to this thread! Am a bit concerned as I always struggle with boots. I have wide feet/ankles and a high top of foot so can't often get my feet into them.

£115 in the Office sale. Woop!

CateGory8 · 29/01/2017 12:09

Pidgey What size did you order? The reason why I'm asking is that the Ugg site still has some sizes in stock and they are only £80 at the moment. Wilcox boots

BeastofCraggyIsland · 29/01/2017 12:37

Thanks Persis I'll check out the other styles. I'm currently wearing the Wilcox pair whilst sat in the house to see if it makes any difference. DP helpfully said I could get a pair of cut off Dunlop wellies at the farm shop for a tenner for the same effect when I asked him what he thought Grin
