I was pretty close to DIYing a Vit C serum but after reading through these posts it became pretty clear to me as a one off trial it was a lot of investment time and money wise. That is supposed to be one of the better recipes out there, nearly identical to SkinCeuticals. Then The Ordinary came along with their seductive pricing. I might still give it a go at some point if only to slather the entire body with Vit C

What do you want it to do for your hair, Dulci? Although I find it tough to get the amount right, the Christophe Robin Hydratant Santal does work pretty well for me and is somewhat like the Kiehl's Silk Groom Creme which was a long time staple for me in the past.
I missed your reply earlier Aurora, yes Bijenkorf is lethal right now there's two pairs of Acne shoes there that I want boots and sneakers, I'm not asking much honest, a Philip Lim bag that I really don't need but want and hey it's a crossbody, it's totally practical, a Marni sweater I'm sure this arctic winter will carry one forever so it's very sensible really, and some bits from Iro all super necessary of course. Not that I was looking or anything
. Although I'd avoid Furla, I used to buy them loads about a decade or so ago when they were all priced around €100 in Italy the more expensive ones €250 at most, now it's quadruple that but the quality is exactly the same, I feel they're massively overpriced these days especially those stupid jelly bags, who wants to see everything you carry in a bag, FFS!.
I hate the dress down culture! Mostly because I have quite classic features, look very done up very easily and I like my clothes so am probably overdressed most of the time and it seems to be a pastime here to somehow make people feel bad for making other people feel underdressed (not that I take much notice of that). I guess it is a Calvinistic trait primarily, vanity is definitely considered a moral deficit here.
I find oil blends don't strictly adhere to skin types as most other products do ,Pupsie, although some do play better than others with certain skin types and if you're using a single oil then proceed with a bit more caution. I think dry skin has the most versatility with the blends, there are a few astringent oils like grapeseed out there but if it's part of a blend that hardly influences a dry skin enough to actually be drying. Combo-oily need to be more picky about what they slap on.
Fizzy, the raving for the liquid is mostly to do with the fact that BHA is more often used by combo-oily skins (they're far more likely to have pore issues, etc. due to the presence of oil, it's actually quite rare to have blackheads, spots, large pores, etc. with dry skin) so there just aren't many lotion users and it would probably feel to clogging and heavy to oily/combo skins. It has a few silicones in there and I'm definitely not a fan of the PC lotion type textures but if you like it carry on, I do actually find the BHA liquid a bit on the drying side and will only use it on my nose which is slightly oily but I really don't need it anywhere else so that works for me. I really do not start keeping files on you lot, remind me again of skin type and why you're getting/using the BHA?
Jo, how close exactly were you taking those pictures? And in all honesty I think phone pictures are actually the worst representation of your skin, they really aren't a true mirror, they're calibrated to making Asians look good (on the whole, it will differ per manufacturer) it doesn't work out well for Caucasian and Darker skin. Anyhow for those things it's mostly Niacinamide as an ingredient. Is Dimethicone completely off the table for you too? Otherwise the Cerave PM lotion may be worth looking at, has a boatload of ceramides too which is good for barrier restoration and it's rumoured to have 4-5% Niacinamide which is far less sensitising dosage.
Jeeves looks adorable, Minty! Yes, so again I need files on you lot, what's your skin type again? I'd say Benton if you veer to dry, LRP if you veer to combo-oily. Though Benton may work as a night time moisturiser for combo, possibly. What would you like from a sleeping pack, they're mostly heavy hydrators. I'd avoid TKMaxx for AB (sorry to whomever just bought a shit ton from there), tend to be pricey and I'd say about 95% of AB is stuff you don't really want (heavy in alcohol, silicones, fragrance, etc). Benton don't do a sleeping pack as far as I know. I recently spotted some CosRx overnight sleeping masks (same principle) samples on ebay so a good way to try them out. Aurora and I are big fans of the Naruko Magnolia night gelly but it's a high niacinamide one so keep in mind if also using TO Nia.
Also for anyone interested although a group buy may be in order for it, on yesstyle the Benton Essence (the snail/propolis one that Aurora likes and is from the same line as the steam cream) is on sale there for $10 but they only do free shipping from $35, there were a few other interesting discounts on there too though, will have to look up the reddit post again. Also Testerkorea are doing free shipping on everything over $10 but under 250g weight so there a few interesting bits and bobs there too, thinking of finally getting the Blossom Jeju Camellia oil... as if I needed anymore oils
.
So how much will you lot be paying for individual cleansing balms, yongnian? As you can see above I have certain needs
