Yeah Dulci take some nice pics at Liberty to indulge us over here...

bo don't pretend that you didn't know they only had the coraly blush left knowing that I looove those huesXmas Wink

Funny that you are also into reformer Pilates Xmas Smile I just love it but also like vinyasa yoga and yin yoga. As with many things, obvs, it also depends very much on finding a great teacher. For me combining the three (sadly don't have time to do all three every week but I also practice at home) is just the best for mind/ body.

By the way they have 40% on mascaras at ICI. And I thought temptations were over... sigh...

botemp · 06/12/2016 17:42

Yep, I was on a very minimal BHA use (1-2x a week at most) then started using TO Retinoid and it was SF central on my nose. It's a shame as it won't make me RP it as it's great for the price but I haven't quite figured out what could be causing it either as they use a lot of unknown ingredients (to me) in their formulations.

I saw the 40% off too in my inbox, Aurora... mighty tempted and I was wondering if that paypal code I had was still valid... but then I discovered that eyeko (who so some of my favourite tubers) have just released a special co-lab with Colette (that cult store in Paris you can't leave without buying anything from) with similar peptides to my Chantecaille mascara Shock. I'm mighty tempted at €30 but of course the shipping is ridiculous at €12 so I'm trawling the Colette site for other lovely things to buy to make sense of this madness this is going to end up costing way more than the Chantecaille mascara.

Thank you so much for the quick reply bo Smile that is exactly how it feels!!! As if there's a barrier and the spots on my chin are always painful lurkers that last for 2-3 weeks and there's no getting rid of them.

My routine is nonexistent as everything seems to upset my chin the more I use it, particularly the pixie glow.

morning I wash with coal soap then use great lightning and follow with Charlotte Tilbury Magic cream (then mac primer and usual makeup).
evening I use a face wipe to remove makeup then apply ultrabland all over and wipe off with hot cloth. Then I'll alternate between coal soap and mask of magnamity and follow up with Nivea night cream.

I'll use BHA, retinol and pixie glow once a week in the evening (not together) but don't put any on my chin anymore as it just erupts the day after.

My skin is just shit right now and I don't know how to fix it. Will definitely pick up some clay masks, thank you.

botemp · 06/12/2016 18:00

Badgerit, I think establishing a steady routine would be the primary goal with a focus on cleansing but I would point out that depending on which Nivea cream you're using the mineral oil probably isn't helping. I'm not of the eternal doom of mineral oil school but by the sound of your issues something as heavily occlusive as that (whilst having difficulty getting ingredients to penetrate) sounds like a bad marriage.

If the Pixi Glow is upsetting you I wouldn't use this either, or avoid the chin area.

I've just looked of the mask of magnaminty and that is a clay based cleanser so I don't think you need to get in another separate mask provided that works for you.

BadgerIt · 06/12/2016 18:35

Wow you are wonderful! I nominate you for MNer of the year Star

Thinking about it, it's probably been since I started using the Nivea cream that I've been getting the white bead things so I will definitely be cutting this out. I've not seen any improvement to the rest of my face with the Pixi Glow so I'll cut that out too (I think I only carried on using is because it was so hard to buy in the first place).

I have far too much to learn about skincare Xmas Sad

Thank you again.

MintyChops · 06/12/2016 20:15

Good evening! I am trying to catch up with this thread having loved the previous one and learned. LOT, would love to post my routine for a bit of help from you all. I've still a few pages to catch up to you but just wondered if anyone can let me know where to buy P50 in Ireland - I think wilting is over here. I have tried a place on Dublin, on Nassau St, but have had no reply.....

AuroraPolaris · 06/12/2016 20:30

Badger - I don't want to confuse you too much or make you feel you have to throw away everything you have, but on top of following what bo wrote have a look at the alcohol content of the face wipes you are using (or any other possibly irritating ingredient for that matter).
Also - I had a look at the Ultrabland, as I didn't know what it was. It has a resin they claim is soothing but also creates a film over the skin. I've no experience with this ingredient, but maybe someone else does, or it's just worth giving it further thought in your case.

AuroraPolaris · 06/12/2016 20:33

Bo Colette is lovely... sigh but now I'm mainly deliberating if I should get another Lancôme Grandiose Extreme from ICI just when I thought I wouldn't have to get anything till 2017!

botemp · 06/12/2016 20:46

I went into my skincare archives, saddo, I know Badger, from when I was experiencing similar issues. At the time I used Kiehl's overnight biological peel to help with this. I think 3x a week, after cleansing no other product. I'm not 100% if I'd recommend it again, it is a good product and it helped at the time but has some ingredients which I'm a bit so-so about now (silicones and parabens- though this is personal dislike mostly not necessarily to be universally avoided by everyone) but it is gentler than glycolic and does exfoliate well. I don't know how it compares to the Kiehl's micro peel Enid is currently sampling as I haven't tried that one but it may be worth asking for those two samples at Kiehl's.

I do agree with Aurora that a lot of what you're using isn't the best. If you fill in the questionnaire thing I can do a more detailed response with suggestions of alternate products but I think you're definitely in need of some good exfoliation, a steady skincare routine with simple gentle products and to stay away from the heavier creams (I think the CT is also on the heavy side).

Likewise, the ultrabland, I've never used it but I do tend to see a lot of feedback that it's a tough one to work with and that does leave me concerned whether everything really is being taken off and not leaving you clogged up further.

botemp · 06/12/2016 20:49

Does the Lancome come in brown, Aurora? I've been having a hankering for a brown mascara for whatever reason lately...

wiltingfast · 06/12/2016 21:03

ah MintyChops, I found it in a spa in Dun Laoghaire but haven't called to check if they really REALLY have it Grin

The website is unbelievably bad and the information buried, but I checked it there this evening and it does seem to do it.

www.thegreenhouseproject.ie

You'd really have to ring and make enquiries though. Let me know what they say as i don't have 115e right now for a facial Grin

AuroraPolaris · 06/12/2016 21:10

Bo OMG not only they have Brun Mirifique but they also gave a swoon worthy burgundy Mon Regard Parisien, the later being out of stock, lucky/ unluckily for me.
I've also been lusting after a brown one for no make up make up days... but I've also been lusting after a burgundy one (but had only looked at Clinique).
Mind you - I think the normal Grandiose is amazing (at least for my lashes) but the Extreme version is really out of this world.

Oh forgot I did some serious geeking the other day. As promised INCI lists of all HA serums we've been discussing. Opinions?

I can see why the NIOD one is preferred by some, it has a few interesting extracts (and it's very AB) lot's of nice yeasty things -galactomyces like- and first time I've seen Tremella mushroom extract in anything western which has great water retention capacities plus a shortish ingredient list. TO HA really is rather simple, the Buffet is a good compromise I feel and the Sub Q when it's on offer.

I just had a look at Glamglow on the Boots website and this set is actually really good value for money, 4 x 30g tubes (the supermud normal jar is 34g and a tub is way handier anyhow) for the price of one mask, so you're essentially getting three others for free. If I could actually get my hands on this (Boots do not deliver here, the bastards) I'd definitely be tempted to snap it up.

BadgerIt · 06/12/2016 21:54

Well, I'm officially going to move in here and call this place my new home. How fantastic are you people!!

I checked my face wipes, they claim to be alcohol-free but in the ingredients 'cetearyl alcohol' is listed and when I googled the wipes (Simple for sensitive skin) there are lots of reviews saying they dry out skin and leave it itchy Shock

Ultrabland and CT I can ditch easily too, that's not a problem Smile Ultrabland does leave a kind of film on my face afterward which I thought was a good thing, like it was leaving my extra conditioned but it's clearly not doing much. CT is very heavily scented which I understand is a negative but I love the smell Grin

I can buy Kiehl's overnight biological peel and I will use that 3 x a week. I have some Superdrug vit E hot cloth cleanser and the vit E moisture leave on mask on the way to me if they're any good?

I'm sorry to be dim but where is the questionnaire?

Loving that you have skincare archives! Could you come and organise my entire life please?

FizzyBubbly · 06/12/2016 22:07

Same here Badger, I literally just swooned at the thought of a skincare archive!

AuroraPolaris · 06/12/2016 22:19

The NIOD also has three types of HA in high concentrations (and that is what they also point to on the site).
Next step in the geek research will be to google all the peptides. Haven't had time for that yet Wink

AuroraPolaris · 06/12/2016 22:24

bo Douglas also have some Glamglow sets now but I can't see them on the site. Maybe it's just in the shops? And also the ridiculously expensive 15€ sheet masks Hmm

Pupsiecola · 06/12/2016 23:59

Been AWOL for a couple of days and just caught up.

If someone wants a sample of P50W do PM me.

Re exercise and early rosacea, yep it can be a trigger. I started exercising regularly (5 times a week) 18 months ago. I do a mixture of running (one 5k per week, one 10k per month), HIIT, weights and Pilates (not reformer but very purist Pilates teacher and it is tough! And medicinal, for my back). I do train very intensely sometimes but for me it's a risk I'm willing to make, because of all the other benefits, especially my state of mind. I seem to really respond to the endorphins.

I have been trying to get hold of the Una Brennan rose mask with no luck. Been sold out on the Boots website for about two weeks, and not available in both of my local (large) Boots stores. Anyone else seen it about?

Night all!

I was feeling good about my skin progress until I saw that other thread. Thank feck I'm good at make up.

hollinhurst84 · 07/12/2016 00:45

Botemp is my new favourite person
That cleansing balm is my new favourite thing, my skin is SO soft and comfortable and < happy sigh > just not irritated by it at all
Now I need recommendations for a cushion foundation that's more cool/pink tones. I'm about NW 13/15 in MAC

Pupsiecola · 07/12/2016 07:16

Ooh which balm hollin?

Indecisivejo · 07/12/2016 07:46

Hi everyone Xmas Wink I've been having fun on my other thread Grin

Can anyone tell me why I always seem to have a "sheen" on my forehead no matter what I do??
Also my nose never seems smooth, always dehydrated and "bobbly" if that makes sense?!
I always seem to have some sort of problem on my skin, whether it be dehydration, redness, breakouts, rashes etc. Do I just put up with it as my skin freaks out if I try new products?! Arrrrrgh!
As u all prob know by now I go through phases of being unhappy with everything I'm using from skincare to hsircare snd make up, if I decide I'm happy with one then I focus my attention on changing the other iyswim. I think (I know) I have issues lol I'm not quite right in the head Grin

botemp · 07/12/2016 09:35

The form's at Tue 29-Nov-16 @ 19:11:43, Badger, (sorry don't know which page, I have mine set to a 100 messages per page).

Cetearyl alcohol isn't the same as alcohol (denatured), it's what we call a fatty alcohol and it is usually beneficial to the skin (but derived from alcohol) but the wipes should be on their way out regardless Grin.

Just ask for a sample with Kiehl's first, always best to first check and they're really good with them, they're also one of few that take returns on products that don't work.

The Superdrug Vit E is a well liked budget cleanser on these boards, no personal experience with it. Don't know about the leave on mask.

Aurora, I doubt they have this set (and if they do they will probably charge insane prices for them) but I'll check in shop sometime. When I was last there I saw they now have own brand biocellulose masks, and I kid you not, the ingredients were as follows , Aqua, Glycerin, Phenoexyethanol. That was it... a fancy glycerin mask for €9.95 Shock.

Good to know the balm is so likeable Hollin. When I was in tkmaxx they were selling the Face Shop CC Intense Cover Cushion in V103 that was very pale and pinky (far too pale and pinky for me anyhow). There's also this NW shade comparisson spreadsheet from the AB Reddit with a few suggestions for NW (there's also a NC one).

It's the Heimish All Clean Balm, Pupsie. It's a cleansing balm from Korea with a lot of herbal and floral extracts and a few luxurious oils. It's about $15 delivered I believe.

Jo, I couldn't possibly be able to say without a picture Grin. Just kidding, ignore the fuckers on there. Have you ever gotten extensive testing for skin and food allergies? Your limited ability to tolerate a lot really sound more like intolerant and allergic skin rather than sensitive/reactive where there's possibly other conditions (health or diet) that could be at play too?

BadgerIt · 07/12/2016 10:11

Gosh I have so much to learn. I think I need to book a few months off work and begin the skincare revision.
