M&s beauty calendar

Ivytheterrible · 09/11/2016 13:17

So I want the fabled beauty calendar but I can't find anything to buy on the m&s website.

I need...
New ankle boots
A LBD
Dressy tops for evenings out.
But there is nothing I even want to try on!

I have 3 children aged 1-6 but can only find new socks for them.

What can I buy? Confused

Oo I like today's, you can never have enough serums and if they don't suit your face, slap them on your chest

I am keeping this one and the filorga wrinkle fuller for when ds2 arrives in march and I will probably need it more then

I think I know what the next 2 are, so I'll wait and see how I like them. So far I regularly use the eyeliner (it doesn't budge!) hair oil, hand cream and wonder balm and lip gloss.

whattheseithakasmean · 23/12/2016 13:17

I love the Nuxe oil and will certainly be purchasing more of that.

CointreauVersial · 23/12/2016 14:18

I put the hair oil on the lengths/ends of my hair once I've washed and towel-dried it.

But my hair is pretty dry.

VivaVegas · 23/12/2016 14:41

Thanks for the oil tips, have really liked the other hair products so will give this a try, just don't want to end up with an oil slick!
Successful product swop completed today - thank you bloodypassword

I bought one of these for my 14 year old daughter as a Christmas gift and think she's gonna love it! I replaced the age-related stuff but apart from that, it's all intact. I've LOVED reading all your comments and have bookmarked this chat page for her. I plan to keep the calendar to re-use next year and will fill it with her favourites. Merry Christmas Mumsnetters and thanks again 😀

Howaboutthisone · 23/12/2016 16:21

I've loved this calendar and am dreading it coming to an end. I'll definitely buy next years. Do they always release it 2nd week of November? Or a specific date each year? I was lucky this year as I saw a thread on mn while up with a sickness bug so ordered to cheer me up!
I've loved the hand cream and the Rosie lip crayon. Love the nuxe oil. Thank you amethyst for the heads up on the nice gift set in marks. I've picked it up today and had a squirt of the perfume- love it!Flowers

FrizzBombDelight · 23/12/2016 16:24

It was out about the same time last year. The online hype about it starts a good few weeks before so just keep an eye out for it. I loved it too, bought two! Opened them all in one go though #nopatience

Bubbinsmakesthree · 23/12/2016 17:30

Favourites so far have been:

Emma Hardie balm (will definitely consider repurchasing, leaves my skin very soft)
Nuxe oil (already bought a bottle!)
Eyeliner

Getting good use out of eyebrow tamer though it seems unremarkable (I used to have one from Boots 17 which did the job) and I will use the nail file. Not tried to Rodial or Liquid Gold yet but looking forward to them.

Least favourites:

M&S nail varnish (not my colour, shame as hard wearing)
Night time serum (reacted badly to this and now have dry cheeks)
Elastcizer - doesn't do much for my super-thick frizzy hair, not worth faff.

FrizzBombDelight · 23/12/2016 17:47

The liquid gold is very good for blemishes, I put a little on a cotton pad and almost scrub the area. Can be very drying though and have ended up with minor dry patches if I've over done it on my quest for clear skin.

AwkwardSquad · 23/12/2016 18:09

I overdid the Liquid Gold a bit and had to smother my face in Cicaplast last night. Feeling better today but another night of Cicaplast, I think!

FrizzBombDelight · 23/12/2016 20:19

Oh dear! It can be hard to control yourself when you are on to a good thing Wink

Howaboutthisone · 24/12/2016 07:33

My lips are nice and tingly with today's!

CaoNiMerrilyOnHigh · 24/12/2016 07:36

I like today's! I've been hoping for a lip product.

How have I only just discovered this thread!

Anyhow.... loving my tingly lips today, just what I needed.

Will be so sad that it will come to an end tomorrow.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 24/12/2016 09:34

BIt meh about today's - will definitely get used but Burts Bees lip balm is a very everyday product for me, not that exciting!

OverScentedFanjo · 24/12/2016 09:56

Happy with today's.

Put the primer on and my face feels so dry. It's gone all stiff. Don't think I'll be using it again. Glad I tried it out before using it in public!

Kirriemuir · 24/12/2016 09:57

I liked

Burts bees
Hand cream
Hair oil
Rituals body cream
Liquid gold

Didn't like
Nail polish
Eye cream
The lip crayon

Not tried anything else yet.

Thebelleofstmarys · 24/12/2016 10:00

Would anyone like my Burts Bees lip balm ? Only use the coloured ones .

Kirriemuir · 24/12/2016 10:13

I would belle. Would you like anything from my stash to swap?

littlepinkfizz · 24/12/2016 10:29

Like the lip balm but it's a bit everyday rather than a treat! Will use anyway and it does feel nice on.
Hoped for more tbh on Christmas Eve 🎂
Favs :- liquid gold
Cleansing balm
Face peel
Hair primer

Had my doubts about the hair primer but it is fantastic for my hair;- short Pixie cut. Gives great grip and does not leave it feels no heavy or greasy at all. Another for the repurchase list! Would love to buy the Emma hardie cleansing balm but don't know if I can spend so much on a cleanser....

What will you all be repurchasing?

High hopes for last box tomorrow!!!

happychristmasbum · 24/12/2016 10:37

My lip balm smells like Vicks Nasal Spray Xmas Sad

Thebelleofstmarys · 24/12/2016 10:43

Kirriemuir- I'm ok thanks . It's nice to give it to someone who will use it :-) PM me your address etc and I'll pop it in the post .

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 24/12/2016 11:14

I was unsure about the hair balm but tried it yesterday and it massively reduced drying time. I'll be using that again.

CaoNiMerrilyOnHigh · 24/12/2016 15:59

After a thorough assessment of the month's spoils, I will definitely repurchase:

Emma Hardie cleansing balm
Liquid Gold
Nuxe oil

I may add more to the list as I carry on using them.
