Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

Temp seems to be going down slowly and stomach ache is wind/shits. Not inclined to ring ooo as suspect they would just say, fluids and paracetamol, which is what I am doing anyway.

Do I remember Sarf London crepeys recommending a picture framer in ED? I have an oil painting I'd like to get framed, and also my Commission, which has been languishing in a cardboard tube for 20 years.

Rosebag · 19/11/2016 12:47

Interesting rudy I also feeling that having someone impartial to talk to would be the loveliest thing. I have had counselling twice in my life....after my divorce, and after my illness. I suspect that much of the benefit is subconscious, and only becomes apparent in time. I just liked having that hour just for me, even though I was also challenged ..well after all, what is counselling about it not about challenging us to make changes?

MrsS please get hold of a doctor. Whilst it might just be a particularly nasty virus, these symptoms do suggest a kidney infection...you need looking after. Happy to join Sisters nursing team as bank staff. Stern warning...see the doc!

Auriga take care of yourself. The Feb appointment..urgent? That's an appalling waiting time for someone in such pain.

Cocoa ..glad DS has arrived safely. I do remember sitting up til god knows when whilst my DS was in transit, to get a text from him at the lay over in Singapore!

WAF despite the poignant tears shed, I do hope that last nights meal out marks the starts of something better for you and DH and his gradual recovery.

Yes, I want to come to the vicinity of the BL to meet up when MI is industrially penning the next instalment the novel. Need notice though...can we get one in before Xmas?

Lovely Crepeys...I can't make the MU next weekend. DD is going to a party and not only are we part of the pick up rota, but DH has sweetly suggested date night whilst we are hanging around. I have neglected wifely duties of late, so boo, hiss, I have to rain check this one...Sad

Reasons to be cheerful..

  1. DD has a double rota today so DH and I have been out for breakfast, and have booked a sofa at the Everyman this afternoon to see Arrival this afternoon.
  2. I am going walking with BFF tomorrow whatever the weather
  3. I am going to see Sons of Pitches at Cadogan Hall on Monday night...sqeeeeeeee

Re Christmas Lunch, I was talking to my DM's BFF who is 85 and was a primary teacher and farmers wife. She will be cooking for her 4 adults and 2 small children. She looks after the said small children after school most days and is right on the ball Smile

MrsS, there are 2 framers that I know of, both seem good. If you come, we could have a mini-meet Wink

bigTillyMint · 19/11/2016 13:11

Re BL, Rose, I could do Sat 10th Dec if that's any good?
Sorry you can't make the MU Sad

Re MU, from 5pm at usual haunt for D&S, table booked for 7.15 - OK?

hattymattie · 19/11/2016 13:19

Gosh - very busy morning chez les crepies. Mrs S - glad the temperature has dropped a little - keep hydrated and resting. Shock at the price of one year of schooling for DD1. It might be worth pointing out to her that it is the same price as 4 years at university - might goad her into action.

BTM - I'm a map reader as well - I like to know where I actually am and know that the Satnav has occasionally betrayed me - by suggesting weird routes around my home town which I know to be incorrect and by sending us though tiny streets in Italy where we finally came out at the market!

MI - the British Library sounds like a haven of peace - lovely to be able to hole up there.

Auriga - so sad but beautiful re the trees Flowers.

Rudy - joining you in sweeping up leaves in the garden - I think we have to do it today as tomorrow doom and gloom is forecast.

WAF - very brave volunteering for Christmas lunch - I always do my utmost to get out of it (lazy).

Have been to gym today and then made curry for lunch. Am now digesting whilst plucking up the courage to walk into town. Was going to rummage round the make up/beauty shop but DH has announced he's coming with me so my style is well and truly cramped.

hattymattie · 19/11/2016 13:26

Oh - Beachy will PM re Holidays Please.

NUFC69 · 19/11/2016 13:49

I also like maps - I have navigated us all round the US without any trouble, although we did have a sat nav in Canada last year which was more trouble than it was worth as it disappeared when we were out in the wilds. DGS1 also likes maps; he watches the sat nav in the car all the time (there can't be many 5 yo who know the meaning of the word parallel, purely because he wanted to know about the map. Mind you, this is the child who has asked for a book for Christmas that will tell him what words mean).

I hope Rose and Hatty have a lovely time with their DHs today and next week.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2016 13:58

Hatty - thankfully we don't pay full fees as my employer contributes a good chunk. But if she had to do another year, we would be liable for the full whack.

I am still in bed and asked DH if he could bring me some chicken soup. It arrived in a soup plate on a tray, with a napkin and soup spoon. I was expecting a mug, for ease of eating...

I can't decide whether I'm relieved I don't have a vast family Christmas to dread/look forward to, or envious. Ours is going to be small, with a lot of 'making the best of it' going on, as dad slides further into dementia, and MiL may not even make it at all. She's unable to move, yet the hospital want to discharge her, and have falsified documents to indicate the family have agreed. Really feeling the cuts and shambles first hand.

In the meantime, DP has taken DS to see their first-ever football match. Neither DP nor DS have any interest in it, but DP thinks DS might enjoy it and we shouldn't foist our hatred of team sport on to him!

I am off to rehearse with my orchestra for a concert tonight!

herbaceous · 19/11/2016 14:09

Oh, and Auriga Sad re your lovely trees. I've planted trees or shrubs for each of mine, but then most of them went on to die which was too sad! One bay tree in a pot does limp on valiantly...

Blackduck · 19/11/2016 15:27

. Have escaped Comic con and on way home. Very tired... dog training tomorrow - quite nervous!! MrsS hope you feel better.
Auriga much strength.

Lalsy · 19/11/2016 15:51

Goodness, Auriga, maybe we should have all better booked in at non-urgent pain clinic at birth on the grounds that we'd be in pain by the time the appointment came round? You poor thing. But glad you may be turning the corner of grief and pain. I love your phrase about fiercely looking forward to your trees growing. Flowers

Herbs, that is very serious about falsifying documents - have the family reported it?

BD, respect for Comic Con.....

We are away for Christmas for the first time ever (other than to family). I usually find it is a bit bogged down with memories of family illness and turmoil of various sorts, so am looking forward to doing something different.

I am still queasy and sleepy and have to go to my second sporting activity of the day. Bed is much more tempting.

CointreauVersial · 19/11/2016 16:58

On M40. DCs seem to have stopped complaining about family party, but DS is hungry and needs the loo, DD1 has a cold, and DD2 is tired, so they are complaining about other things. DS brought coffee and cake from the bakery for the journey, good lad.

The rain has stopped, although I hear there's a weather warning for the SE this evening - remnants of one of the recent transatlantic storms. Hope our fence is still standing when we return.

hattymattie · 19/11/2016 17:04

Herbs - we have foisted our hatred of team sports on our DC's and feel no guilt. Also I reckon if they're going to be football crazy they will need no encouragement.

BD - when you say Comic Con, I imagine you dressed up as a character in the manner of Big Bang Theory.

Rudy - well done on the leaves - ours are still there.

Have just read the riot act to DS as have finally got him to hand over the paper with the password for his school report online. He tells us he's doing so well and it turns out that's not exactly the case. Angry

MrsWobble3 · 19/11/2016 17:12

Just got back from shopping trip and am pleased to report that Christmas shopping is now over the half way mark - and we've not even left November! But given I am away for a week in December and lose two of the remaining weekends to uni pick ups there aren't that many shopping days left.

Dh is watching the weather forecasts closely - he's supposed to be yacht racing tomorrow but thinks it might be cancelled. Unfortunately the decision won't be made early enough to prevent his 6am start to get there in time so he may have a bit of a wasted journey.

Dd3 is home for the weekend and it is so nice to see her - she is growing up so fast and turning into a thoroughly nice young lady - whichever uni gets her is going to be very lucky as she seems to have both brains and organisation as well as being pleasant company. I'd quite like to freeze her to keep her as she is, we've had such a nice day.

I'd really like to meet all you crepeys and am gutted I can't come to your meet up next week. Have fun!

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2016 17:13

Re school report - welcome to my world, Hatty...

motherinferior · 19/11/2016 17:18

I am at a party full of people talking about personal development. WHERE IS DP TO RESCUE ME???

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2016 17:24

He's in the kitchen, MI. He's discovered his tai chi soul mate. Grin

Blackduck · 19/11/2016 17:30

Hatty the train guard did say 'ladies, gents, children and superheroes...' But, no, I don't Cosplay......

hattymattie · 19/11/2016 17:45

GrinBD.

MI - hope you're looking politely interestedWink

Mrs Wobble - lovely to be able to say that about one's offspring.Smile

Mrs S - he has been banished to the bedroom without phone and computer and new fascist draconian regime will be starting. Exhausting but necessary I fear.

IDismyname · 19/11/2016 17:54

Just checking in with you all.
Auriga - I hope your trees grow tall and strong, and that you find strength, too.

Glad you are on the mend Mrs S, although I suspect Sister wants you on bed rest for a while yet. Keep up the meds and drink

Rudy he's chucking himself down all 28 runs in the QT area for the next 30 days. Maybe more? Who knows! I did plead with him to shake off some jet lag first.

Off out tonight w girlfriends wearing slinky greige top I bought from Anthroplogie. Go Me Grin

bigTillyMint · 19/11/2016 18:04

cocoa, I was only thinking about hospital corners whilst DS was in hospital - I learned to do them in Brownies, but they are mainly defunct except in hospitals now Grin
Slinky greige top sounds v sexyWink

I had a lovely walk with Addle, but we were chucked out of the café (along with everyone else) rather suddenly Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2016 18:11

Were you being rowdy and riotous, BTM?

bigTillyMint · 19/11/2016 18:15

If only - just drinking tea Grin
