Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

MrsS hoping the fact you're making a few jokes means that you're feeling a bit less awful. Must have been the chicken soup Grin

hatty I think I never saw any sort of report from about year 9 with DS1. They were all still paper then and he just screws them up and threw them away probably. Don't fret...he got to uni and has his own company now....

DD is obsessed with getting to comic con next year. Actually I have to admit that I also happen to find Big Bang Theory very funny. It seems in our house, "Bazinga" and "coitus" have replaced the more conventional terms... Grin

Pleasant afternoon at the flicks. Arrival is difficult to follow but I cottoned on by the end. Now in the theatre bar waiting for DD to finish her dress run. Then home into the warm. Cv hope you get there without any weather incidents.

DS2 has just hit us with the extortionate deposit for his flat for next year...they haven't even finished the first term in halls yet for crying out loud. He says they have to get in quick or all the good places will have gone. He is apparently sharing with two gurls from his course....

God Mi can't you help them change the subject...

bigTillyMint · 19/11/2016 18:35

Rose, he is right - my friends DS and mates found a house by Christmas. It isn't easy given that they have only just met people at uni.

No Comic Conners in our house. Did anyone see that Married at First Sight programme? The David Cameron lookalike was so cute but DD was horrified by his Comic obsessionGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2016 18:53

Rose - not really feeling much better, but quite sure the pain is wind. DH said he will take me to ooh doctor tomorrow if no better and temp is not down significantly.

motherinferior · 19/11/2016 18:54

DP turned up and was disturbingly tolerant.Shock We are now home and I am so shattered I am calling in sick on next outing and am going to have a lovely time loafing around with my nearest and dearest, who are all in. Am also struggling with this chapter so need to swim and focus on it again tomorrow.

I too send my very best wishes to Auriga's trees and will them to be sturdy and fine.

BD - 'Cosplay'.... Not sure why but that word makes me feel queasy and go red, and I'm hardly what you'd call repressed (or maybe I am. I probably am).

I woke at half 5 with this stupid, hacking cough. Fortunately I'd slept like a log since half ten.

I should have a run. Then I'll wash my new haircut that went utterly nerdy in the drizzle yesterday and hope it goes nice again.

Will slip away to IKEA later. I am going to sort out this iamnotaprogrammer.com/Ikea-Standing-desk-for-22-dollars.html and hope it will help my chronic shoulder/neck issues. I will accompany it with a deluxe anti-fatigue mat for underfoot. Was considering megabucks for a fancy US hydraulicky up and down thing but will now stash the difference into an account for uni accom (I am trying not to think about our financial situation at the moment... dh not working etc. IT WILL BE FINE. Monty - is your dh any closer to finding work?)

This evening I'm having a drink with sis to commemorate our dad who ended his life on Nov 21 1997. The intervening years have been easier than the ones that preceded them, but we will remember him with love.

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2016 09:42

What is an anti-fatigue mat, WAF? I think I need a fewGrin

And how lovely to raise a Wine with your DSis.

I am off to a Christmas market with friends - hangover free, despite drinking quite a bit of fizz last night!

hattymattie · 20/11/2016 09:57

Ha Rudy - this is mine: actually the wind has moved most of the leaves to the side of the garden.

Rose - thanks for the reassuring words - DS sulking for England.

Mrs S - hope you're feeling a little better.

What's with the whole standing desk business, WAF? Is it supposed t be good for one? I don't think my lumbar region could stand it (ahem), although maybe it's only so weak because of sitting so much.

Very much enjoyed my bassooning last night. So, so lovely to be playing in an orchestra, and it took Me right back to my youth. Lovely sense of belonging, and all working towards the same goal, but more of a chance to be heard on an individual basis than choir. I had some solos!

DS,seemed to enjoy his football match yesterday, despite the home team losing 2-0. I hope this isn't the start of a tedious weekend activity!

motherinferior · 20/11/2016 10:08

Grrr. Loft bedroom + torrential rain = hideously disturbed night.Sad

I was totally undisturbed by the 'blust' last night, annoyingly. I love being cosy in bed while it's wild outside. Going for a good blow and walk and lunch with good friends today, while our DSs frolic in some mud.

In my annual 'oh god I don't know what I want for my birthday I need so much how to I prioritise' panic. Has anyone any recommendations for: a) a slouchy yet fitted jumper that will make me look stylish and not dumpy? (remember - tits) b) a jersey/knitted garment I can wear with Shock leggings that isn't a shapeless sack c) anything else that has transformed their wardrobes/lives?

Blackduck · 20/11/2016 12:30

Just back from first dog training class. There was the one who had to be barricaded behind chairs so he couldn't see the other dogs, the shy one, the chilled one, the manic one, the skittish one, the chaser..... Three guesses which one is mine.......
BUT proof if neede - he'll do ANYTHING for food...

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 20/11/2016 12:37

I'm not sure which one Flash is, but we are the one barricaded behind chairs normally Grin

Cremolafoam · 20/11/2016 13:05

G'day all.
Waf sorry to hear of back story. i Hope commemoration moments go welWine

Am going to attack the leaves today as the sun is shining, even though it's freezing out. Dh has acquired a leaf sucker/blower thing so am off to try that out. Rudy, sorry to see garden now with another layer.Shock
Darn it

In a night of extremes , I slept for 12 hours last night, having barely done anything but doze all week. All that pumping adrenaline at work now slipped away. Have week off !!
During which :
Xmas shopping must be completed
Ebaying must be stepped up a gear
Diary must be repopulated with seeing of Other Humans. ( we tend to disappear over the winter)
May slide into Fantastic Beasts matinée on my own ( favorite thing-going to cinema on own in the afternoon)

Cremolafoam · 20/11/2016 13:11

New thread title soon Crepeys.

A Crepey Advent -ure
The Crepeys after the storm

Lame I know ...Wink

MrsWobble3 · 20/11/2016 13:45

Herbs, re slouchy knitwear - just got back from (another) shopping trip with dd3 and H&M have lots. But if someone else is paying and their budget stretches then I strongly recommend Joseph.

wordassociationfootball · 20/11/2016 13:54

Arf at dog antics.

Crem - love Crepey Adventure. Make it so.

Herbs, bassoonery sounds soul feeding. Am envious.

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2016 14:12

Cremo, hooray for week off Wine
Also love Crepey Adventure.

Just back from Scandi market - really lovely with people in National dress and loads of scrummy food and drink. I bought rather a lot of Christmas decorations Smile

Cremolafoam · 20/11/2016 14:37

Omg - I'd LOVE that BTM. Am very into Nordic Everything. Aesthetic, literature, hygge-ness, objets and fodder of course. Although I draw the line at eating lichen.

motherinferior · 20/11/2016 15:07

I should probably buy some more Christmas stuff but am too damn wiped.

Rosebag · 20/11/2016 15:13

I too am impressed by herb's orchestral manoeuvres.

Flowers to Crepeys remembering beloved lost babies Sad

And also to WAf for memories of your DDad xx

herbs DH and I have just had the usual birthday ding dong that crops up at this time every year when he gets me to try and spell out the wonderful birthday presents and surprise celebrations he's going to arrange for me and I (as of the last few years) refuse to play ball. Angry That sweater that I linked up thread from Celtic Co might fit the bill...I'm a bit miffed that the lovely red colour way is sold out, though.

tilly I have never been to a Xmas market. It sounds lovely. I think Dec 10th might be very good for a BL area MU.

MrsM very interested re Joseph and sweaters. I always thought Joseph was for very thin people though...could it cope with my lumpiness and
boobiness.

Lovely blustery long walk with BFF this morning followed by brunch and right good bitch chin wag about everyone and everything. Got back to find DD and DH out, having not eaten the lunch I left for them and not having not done the modicum of housework I requested. Off with their bloody heads. Angry

mrsS how are you....?

MontserratCaballe · 20/11/2016 16:02

WAF, thanks for asking about DH. He is in the running for a 6m job so am keeping everything crossed. I think your drink to your dad sounds wonderful. Hope you have some good memories to share with your sister. Look forward to seeing you next Sat to catch up. XXX

BTM, where was this Christmas market? I love a bit of Nordic (no laughing at the back, please). I am hoping that there will be a good market in Aberdeen when I am there next month (and maybe some snow!)

MrsS, have you had some sleep? How are you feeling now? I hope DH carried on looking after you Flowers.

Crem - lovely to have a week off. You need it. It sounds very busy though - do make sure that you get a bit of R and R in as well. You have inspired me to Ebay. I shall put some stuff on tomorrow.

Title - I love a Crepe Adventure. Tres festive. BTW, as so many of us are counting our blessings at the moment, at some point could we have Reasons to be Crepey - part 3 (three, iii)? Love that song!

Reasons to be cheerful today:

  1. Am going out for an early evening drink with a friend who is celebrating being clear of breast cancer (she is only 45 and has had lots of horrid treatment but is now grand and back at work)
  1. Am collecting my sloe gin from last weekend
  1. I have a house day tomorrow of cooking, sorting, Ebaying (thanks Crem) and only a little bit of work. Can't wait!
Lalsy · 20/11/2016 16:33

WAF, I love both your desk solution and your sisterly drink plan.

Jaegar Outlet sale site has 40% extra off now, with some jumpers (and cords).

I had a gorgeous walk this morning too, and do not feel like cooking one little bit.

Reasons to be cheerful:

-bargain cords
-ds UCAS form finally sent to school with impressive if random courses selected
-I have a new bedroom floor

MrsS, how are you today?

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2016 16:36

Cremo we had cinnamon buns and open sandwiches. I refrained from the reindeer buns Grin and you would love the jumper I'm knitting - will post when finished. Book in for next year (in Rotherhithe Monty Grin)!

Fingers crossed for your DH Monty.

Rose, will pencil in 10th - would that work for you, MI?
