Hope that's an OK unilateral decision!

Beeb stuff is vvv good on SEO.

Lalsy · 15/11/2016 13:12

Back, if you can bear it crepeys dear, to the thrilling subject of my warm, sensible trousers. Land's End (thick, warm) and Boden (dunno) have cords for 50 quid upwards. Anyone seen anything better/cheaper (apart from M and S which Rose didn't rate and I have now inspected and found too thin)? I am being forced into hideous and not warm uniform for my volunteering so need some warm and plain trousers to compensate.

herbaceous · 15/11/2016 13:37

I believe Uniqlo has some properly waterproof and warm trousers in their Blocktech range. Quite groovy, in a functional sort of way...

Lalsy · 15/11/2016 13:44

They are indeed, but no good for this - I need the dreaded "smart casual" so well fitting black cords or moleskin would be ideal

herbaceous · 15/11/2016 13:47

Thermals under normal trews?

Lalsy · 15/11/2016 13:53

Yep, I have done that but I would like some warmer trousers anyway.

hattymattie · 15/11/2016 14:54

Drat - have just been to La Def amd forgot to go to Uniqlo for HeatTec which was one of the objectives of the mission. Got distracted into other shops.

Lalsy - I have no winter cords either I'm wondering what I actually wore last year.

Went to submit my dossier for Frenchness. They are full and I now have to wait till the 24th! She did check my dossier is complete though which is something.

Lalsy · 15/11/2016 15:11

Like the idea of France being full!

Exactly, Hatty, what did I wear? I have jeans and that's it. I've bought some skirts this year but they won't do for this.

hattymattie · 15/11/2016 15:43

I think there is a huge demand for French nationity at the momeent Lalsy - can't think why?Wink

Lalsy · 15/11/2016 16:03

No, nor me...... Well done on getting close to the finishing post. Wish we could dredge up some relatives with helpful nationalities.

Thank you Crepeys, for your sweet and caring messages today. I am tearful on and off but have kept busy....private client this morning which went really well, and the whole afternoon on the paperwork for my forthcoming teaching review. Frankly I just can't see the point....hours and hours of trying to find last years summative assessment sheets and pick out bits on which to a reflection. Pah.

I don't yet know about 26th. My head is so full of cotton wool and I can't see the wood for the trees. Ill pull myself together soon...

DH said last night, did I want to do something to mark the day. (Typical DH) I said No, I want to carry on as normal (Typical me) What would it take for him to just come up with a suggestion for once rather than wait for instructions ?....like "I'll tell you what...I'll cook supper..." Fat chance... It's not that he wouldn't cook something for supper...he just isn't spontaneous like that Hmm

MrsS did you get my PM?

MrsWobble3 · 15/11/2016 18:15

Rose, I think it's a widespread man thing - to be unable to see the blinding obvious. I have had many discussions with dh where he says that he would have been happy to buy milk/birthday cards/do a load of washing/insert domestic chore of choice if I had asked him. He really struggles to understand that it's the having to remember as much as the task itself.

Hope he surprises you (pleasantly) this evening.

motherinferior · 15/11/2016 18:29

Rose, do pencil in the 26th: we would love to see you. X

IDismyname · 15/11/2016 18:50

Rose I hope by now you have a drink close to hand, and some kind of supper that wasn't procured by you.

Men really do lack the ability to think in an empathetic manner, don't they? (Or is it just my DH??). He's the same - "Well, you only had to ASK me". Sometimes, I don't want to ask. I just want it done.

DS seems a bit more in tune with me. That's because I've trained him well.

Am 'well jell' of your MU. Hope to meet you all next year.

(Good Grief. Is this year nearly over..?)

addle · 15/11/2016 19:31

Rose, thinking of you today and so liking that lovely pic of you with your Ddad on FB.

Molly happy to encourage house stuff in a gentle and unjudgemental sort of way. I loved Kondoing. Am hoarder and really managed to clear out loads of stuff.

WAF those are lovely lovely shoes and a great thing to get them not in black

Mrs S can only echo what WAF, especially, has expressed so eloquently

Beachy was last meet up when DS hurt his arm?

Life here sort of OK. Not quite enough to have useful convos for the future but so much better and achieving a sort of steady footing

Sorry I can't make 26th. I'll be in Wales visiting lovely aunt.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 15/11/2016 20:02

Good to hear you have a sort of stability, Addle.... no, last meet up we were all behaving in a semi grown up fashion, while ds's evening involved mates, park, vodka and ......Brian!

Rose, I hope today hasn't been too bad and that you have a peaceful evening.

I hope I can come up on the 26th. I've written it on the calendar, but not mentioned it yet. I work on the basis that Dh would probably forget I told him anyway...

Rose, well done on getting so much done today, I hope that helped and you feel more the thing tomorrow.

My dh planned a small low-key treat for the day after my birthday. I was out so we had to postpone it but I was so pleased that he had thought of something and sorted it...truly a gift.

dh is away again and ds tired and grumpy. Attempts to start a UCAS/mooncup discussion not going down well. Wish he would finish the thing and send it off instead of ignoring it and playing X-box.

Cremolafoam · 15/11/2016 23:58

Lalsy , I saw these on Saturday and rather fancied them and can also recommend Seasalt cords which come in lovely jewel colours iirc. I have a pair from a couple of years ago for wearing to some godforsaken Eastern European capital somewhere cold I was going. No doubt they'll be reprieved in January, if dh doesn't book us somewhere soon , for his birthday yay

Trying day. Missing small furball to come home to of an evening.

Lalsy · 16/11/2016 07:33

Oooh thanks Crem. Sorry today was hard.

bigTillyMint · 16/11/2016 07:50

Rose and Cremo Flowers Hope things are a little easier today.

Lalsy, can't help on trousers front other than base-layer and salopettes Grin

addle · 16/11/2016 07:53

Crem, feel for you. The missing physical presence of dcat is painful.

Beachy - I remembered it was Stropps' ds who did something to his arm during a previous MU. d'oh

BTM - dd selling clothes - my dd recommends DPop as it's like instagram and you don't have to manage bids or anything.

wordassociationfootball · 16/11/2016 07:59

I haven't thought about cords in years. I had a lovely black wide legged pair from French Connection after I'd had dd1. They had a de trop appliqué on the bum so I picked it off which took weeks and by the time I'd finished I'd lost more baby heft and they were too big.

I'm coughing in an annoying weedy way like someone trying to convince a parent they should have the day off. There is, however, a burning in my chest that suggests bigger things are coming.

Lalsy, Mooncup has been going on a long time. Are your teeth stumps? (To quote Stropps).

DH having first therapy today. He's twitchy this morning. I might go to IKEA. A colleague has steered me away from a vpricey sit-stand workstation thing towards the 22 dollar IKEA hack version. There is a blog and people post their versions including use of Velcro and tic tac boxes. I think I can do most of what the £££££ version would do although that lifted up and down in fab way for easy sitting and this would be standing only but including a VG anti fatigue mat it will come out HUNDREDS of quid cheaper.

Have a Great Dane - crepeys (family gag: it's what you say to a vet who likes big dogs)

BTM - re menu, Sounds great. (Or do I need to read an attachment :) )

motherinferior · 16/11/2016 08:12

DD1 off skool poorly. I must drag self to desk - it's a knee-preserving non-Ladyjog day - and write a Crucial Scene. As I am not exactly sure what happens in it, am somewhat nervousGrin.
