Following on from the skincare routines post, what ingredients do you make sure you include in your products, for example, Vit C, Vit E, Hyaluronic acid?

TIA

Why oh why did I discover that iHerb European site!?!?! Confused A veritable rabbit hole, and I** pledged not to buy anymore skin care or make up this month Black Friday doesn't count right, in spite of still feeling the kind of grumpy that only a Chanel lipstick can help repairAngry
Also saw they have Physician's Formula make up which I think is fragrance free, so any ladies that react to that check it out.

EnidButton · 10/11/2016 21:11

Flowers Flowers Aurora

I use Rapidlash and Rapidbrow. Both made a dramatic difference. I use the Rapidbrow more as a maintenance thing now do not lots and not everyday. I know I should stop using the Rapidlash but I don't want to go back to my ordinary length again. Blush

The Pai regenerate mask I applied to my face last night, (from top lip upwards only), has really helped the dry bits and skin is feeling much smoother, less dehydrated and a bit more glowy. Quite impressed. Perhaps it's the jojoba as I like their face scrub, which contains jojoba, too. So worth me trying the jojoba oil by itself as you suggested bo.

Remembered to use serozinc on my badly behaved patch last night and tonight. No results yet obviously.

Pupsiecola · 10/11/2016 21:49

I don't wax lol. I was just putting it out there in case anyone does; I had never heard that before.

What is address of the eu iherb site? I can only find the us one...Blush

AuroraPolaris · 11/11/2016 09:53

Just change the county preference on the top left hand side of the screen.

AuroraPolaris · 11/11/2016 09:54

Country... stupid auto correct!!!!!!

wiltingfast · 11/11/2016 12:37

Hmm, just warning I checked with them and they told me their products are still coming from the USA.

Seems like it's just filtering prices etc to suit your preferences...

botemp · 11/11/2016 14:33

That's a disappointment, so everything over $20 gets taxed and shipping will be high Sad

I hear what you're saying about the spending in November, there's a constant barrage of offers but I'm trying not to give in thinking black Friday/cyber Monday will do better deals. Today is apparently singles day Confused, China's version of cyber Monday but I've been getting a lot of offers for that here too, mostly 11% off so not that interesting. Might purchase some things from Douglas though as they have 25% off everything and have been meaning to get a few more Zoeva brushes.

I got that mask for free Enid with some offer, but have completely forgotten about it. Might use it tonight as I can't remember why I've been ignoring it all this time.

I looked at the rapidbrow INCI and its mostly peptides and biotin, so not that scary really. Do you actually get hair growth in places where there was none before or does it grow in thicker/longer?

EnidButton · 11/11/2016 16:28

bo It was a pretty decent mask. On someone with less awkward skin I imagine it could be really good.

Yes the rapid brow genuinely worked. I did start off with thick brows way way back before I plucked them into the thin brows that were fashionable in the 90's. So perhaps it just helps along what would be there anyway but I now have thick brows.

I was more impressed by the rapidlash because I've never had really long eyelashes. They were OK and not thin or anything but now they're really noticeably long. I had to trim a couple at one point because they were touching my eyebrows and with mascara it looked ridiculous. I was really dubious when I first bought it as there's nothing in the ingredients that should work so well but it was on offer and I liked Rapidbrow so.. Took a few weeks mind you and don't know how it'd perform on anyone with pale lashes or very short or thin.

EnidButton · 11/11/2016 16:28

That was long! I should work for them. Grin

EnidButton · 11/11/2016 16:30

And yes I get hair growing on my brow area after applying it to those areas where there wasn't any before.

hollinhurst84 · 11/11/2016 16:39

Oh I like the Zoeva brushes, especially the angled eyeliner one
My mizon snail gel cream arrived and went straight on my face Grin

EnidButton · 11/11/2016 16:51

Has anyone ever used Kiehls avocado eye cream? Think they call it creamy eye treatment now. Mainly wanting something for night. I don't use eye cream under make up. My eyes are now feeling quite dry, using Avene soothing eye contour cream with is pretty good but wondering about trying the Kiehls.

botemp · 11/11/2016 17:03

I like them too, which ones do you have, Hollin? I mostly have a few face brushes now, don't do much in the eyeshadow department but am thinking a few of those and I need a bronzer brush (getting the giant fluffy white one). Contemplating the 110 which I know is Lisa Eldridge's fave but I'm pretty much using my beauty blender exclusively lately but think it might do well for cream blushes. Have you used the angled one as a push liner by any chance? I have the Laura Mercier cake liner, currently using a lip liner brush which works okay but is not ideal.

Interesting about the Rapidbrow, Enid. My mother tried to pluck my rather unruly brows as a teen and it ended in tears, ever since it was always professionally done and I always had to say don't pluck too much but alas some didn't listen. I have quite thick hairs and they're quite dark (it's a pain to colour match, browns are always too red, taupes too light, and the darker tones are pretty much solid black which is deeply unflattering). I have very little maintenance to them these days, just plucking the stray hairs now and then, they have a natural good shape and they're not overly thin or sparse but I have wondered if it's worth bringing back the bushiness for a bit of added lift in the arches area with something like Rapidbrow. I shall put it on my Black Friday list.

I used to use the Creamy Avocado Eye cream, it is very, very emollient. I think it's a good eye cream for people in their twenties (as it's not really anything anti-ageing) who are prone to dryness there (as I was then) and it's one of the few non-irritating eye creams for me (many make my eyes water). The jar packaging is a pain though as you need very little due to the richness of the product but end up with loads anyway. If you're near a counter they'll give you a sample very easily, I might still have one laying about. Will check, may be very old though Blush.

AuroraPolaris · 11/11/2016 17:11

bo ICI also have very big discounts. I'm very tempted, though I have to go collect sweet with the kids now....

I have a few Zoava brushes including the 110 which is really lovely for concealer and foundation if you like applying it with a small brush. The fluffy shadow brushes are not as good as the 217 IMO.

hollinhurst84 · 11/11/2016 17:21

Ah I'm not st home so not sure which! Couple of face ones, and two angled ones. I tend to line my upper waterline with a pencil and then use gel liner with the brush... I'm not one for subtle makeup Grin

EnidButton · 11/11/2016 19:00

This Zoeva set is gorgeous. I have too many brushes but they're so pretty... www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/zoeva-shine-brush-set_277-3004737-SBX06S201/

Thanks bo I'll get some of the Kiehls cream. I don't have any wrinkles (yet) so just wanting something to stop the dry feeling.
Our eyebrows sound very similar. I do use the Rapidbrow now to maintain the thickness as they shape better. For colour matching I use a matte eyeshadow with a thin angles brush rather than a proper eyebrow powder as the ones for darker Browns do tend to be too red toned. Can't remember what on earth it's called as I've had it for ages but it works really well. Bet you'd find one in Mac. Just make sure it's matte! Don't think sparkly eyebrows are in atm. Although you might start a trend.

wiltingfast · 11/11/2016 19:44

Just popped in to say I gave the small girl an oatmeal bath tonight with a bit of argsn oil thrown in as well and she came out feeling much softer Smile very VERY pleased! Thank you for the tip Enid!

I smothered her in coconut oil after as bad mummy still hasn't made it to the chemist See how it is tomorrow but could see us adding that bath into our week.

wiltingfast · 11/11/2016 19:53

AND I finally tried that dermo cleanser and my skin actually feels cool.

I hadn't realised it had been feeling hot post cleansing, I guess I was just so used to it Blush

wiltingfast · 11/11/2016 19:54

Thank you bo for all the good advice Flowers or since it's Friday maybe some Wine Grin

botemp · 11/11/2016 20:47

It is good for the dry feeling Enid, it does have parabens though, if that's a concern to you. Not as emollient but still good is Pai's eye cream, though you might want to wait out Black Friday with them, were a lot of Pai offers last year.

I actually hate any makeup brush that isn't black with silver ferules (matt black being the only acceptable alternative). I had been thinking of buying some more Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo brushes, think I'm just going with the face brushes tonight and get some eyeshadow brushes from the Japanese come Christmas tim.

I use a matte eye shadow from Laura Mercier (with the LM eyebrow brush which is fab) for my brows and the eyeko brow gel currently, works fine but I always think it's harder to change the shape a little (like straighten or arch it more for certain looks) when your brows are darker as it often just looks obvious since the colours don't blend as well. Strangely Rapidbrow is significantly cheaper on Amazon, might take the plunge even though I hate giving that company my money.

My dog had horrible allergic reactions with really itchy skin in the past and oatmeal baths were the only thing that helped, they're amazing and it works well in DIY masks too. Good for dry skin and scalps too, something about it forming a special protective film on your skin

Dr. Sam Bunting's newest Telegraph video is up, [http://www.telegraph.co.uk/beauty/skin/science-of-skincare-what-is-salicylic-acid/ Salicylic Acid]] this time, we should take bets on what she tackles next, I'm going with AHA. I will bet my proffered Wine Grin. Also came across another article on face mists, that might be of interest. Wasn't aware Hyalamide released a new one.

Are the kiddos in a sugar coma yet Aurora, I hope they sung their little hearts out Smile. I saw ICI are doing the 25% off too, but I only need something from Urban Decay from them and that doesn't seem to be included in the offer.

AuroraPolaris · 11/11/2016 21:00

enid that set is amazing! Real disco colours! I also have the stippling and petit stippling which I like and the grand stippling which I find too hard and don't use at all.

wilting so nice to hear about your LO!

botemp · 11/11/2016 21:09

I actually have the stippling ones too (not the grand one, so I'm not missing out it seems) but I could probably be using that for cream blushes. So I'm back to just the bronzer brush... I thought MN was supposed to make me buy stuff! You lot are very disappointing tonight Grin, my wallet thanks you.

AuroraPolaris · 11/11/2016 21:14

Ah I use the stippling one for bronzer... and my "proper" bronzer brush for one of those lovely perfecting powders Grin

botemp · 11/11/2016 21:18

I use the 105 for that, it's one of my most favourite brushes ever.
