Mrs S, they were clearly separated at birth.

Seriously though, grimtastic day, you poor thing. Taking a leaf from Waf's book, a long bath with candles n shit, sounds like just the thing to me.Grin

How goes ds this evening BTM?

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/10/2016 20:31

Crem - he's not a Scorpio, is he?

motherinferior · 24/10/2016 20:32

Attempted conversation about Cluttering Stuff which ended in flaming row and me telling him to go to hell as I flounced left the dinner table.

wordassociationfootball · 24/10/2016 20:44

Have just pulled a stomach muscle laughing at telephone exchange.

Weds is dd1's birfday but ta BTM. Who knows best pizza delivery
round my ends?

And so sorry re dh lowness .Monty. Am realising the importance of often asking DH what he needs ( and letting him know what I /DC need)

Soz re row MI

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/10/2016 21:53

Waf - he has a collection of old radios too...

bigTillyMint · 24/10/2016 22:05

MrsSGrin at you being Sad that you may have missed testing a hoover Grin

DS has a mate for a sleepover - I just took them both hot choc and digestives, as if they were still 8 Grin

GiddyGiddyGoat · 24/10/2016 22:49

Aww BTM you are lovely.
Mrs S - from the sublime to the ridiculous - you made me laugh out loud - super high powered meeting to Hoover angst. I love you.

Blackduck · 25/10/2016 06:59

MI sorry about row...
WAF I can do inordinate amounts of time on my own but then the black dog floors me...

BTM hope all is good with ds.

Rose and Stropps Flowers

Here dp's failure to correctly set the alarm meant a mad dash to get ds to school for the coach (not something you need at 2.40 in the morning). Thank god I had packed and on the plus side ds had no time to emote..... on the negative side the poor soul is probably ravenous.... bad parents....

IDismyname · 25/10/2016 07:04

BTM So glad DS is back home, now. Schlepping to and from hospitals is hard work. And VERY expensive, too.
I can't tell you how many one pound coins I feed into parking machines these days.

Mrs S I once did a MN test for a cooker- stirrer-blender thingy. It did the most amazing 'hands off' risotto, but after all the testing, decided it wasn't worth the cupboard space. I would live off risotto given the chance, but my waistline wouldn't thank me for it. I find my slow cooker much more useful.
I hope you're still in with a chance for the Hoover... Just think how clean your carpets are going to be!!

motherinferior · 25/10/2016 08:29

I have got over my hissy-fit and am doing my best to fight that sodding black dog. Ladyjog is suddenly faster Grinand I am going to put words on the page.

Cremolafoam · 25/10/2016 11:24

I agree Cocoa. It's ridiculously expensive and boring to go in and out of hospital car parks.not to mention the queuing at peak visiting times. When ddad was in recently the visiting time was only 30minutes. plus an hour to queue inthe car park DM was doing it twice a day, so no wonder she was almost bonkers. In dad news, he is getting his second cataract removed tomorrow, and is getting quite whizzy on the old rolator.

Not a Scorpio Mrs. s but one of those off the wall aquarians. Very self contained .on his own planet Daft bugger. He does make a lot of cakes though, which is a redeeming feature.Cake

Am sorry about the kennel full of black dogs we are keeping. My own is always slightly off to the edge of my eyeliine. I know what you mean about being on your own BD. It can cause the voices in your head to start shouting. Planning nice things for self to look forward to is important. Even plotting tiny things can pull you through.Flowers

magimedi · 25/10/2016 11:35

Having something to look forward to is vital to keep the black dog in place.

Just back from a totter along the sea front. Lovely & warm & all the hotels are putting up their Xmas decs - getting ready for the 'Tinsel & Turkey' season! Grin

Am back home, near Pevensey way, now. What a shame!

Are you around tomorrow morning? Will be on seafront about 10.30 - could meet for a coffee?

Rosebag · 25/10/2016 16:07

Have just had a delightful lunchtime meet up with beachy and a very lovely and cute Beachette. Lovely sun too. Marred only by raging indigestion and much Gaviscon scoffing, on my part. All self inflicted...too much good food followed by too much lounging on the sofa watching movies. Blush...and late night snacking after the movies Blush Blush

I do hope we're shining light on the black dog and chasing it away. Flowers I agree with crem about plotting nice things.

Waves to rudy from down the coast. Also how is monty getting on?

bigTillyMint · 25/10/2016 16:28

Envy of all the seaside shenanigans. But just been for a lovely afternoon walk with DH and DS in Battersea Park, which was unbelievably quiet Smile
Herbs, you should have planned a day out there - little zoo, fountains, Thames (with boats to look at) and Recumbents bikes, not to mention loads of space for scootering, etc. Plus a Go Ape (which has replaced the free and fantastic adventure playgroundAngry) and café.... And no queues anywhereGrin

DS had a bit of a moment late this morning - wants to be back to normal immediately and is rather frustrated, but much better now after a couple of hours in the fresh air. I think it's going to be a bumpy ride.

herbaceous · 25/10/2016 16:39

Lord take me now. I have never been anywhere worse than Kidstropolis st Excel. Anything free has queues a mile long, and everything else is a demo of a highly expensive toy or game. I've just queued for 30 minutes to pay £7.50 for a cup of tea and two biscuits, and then there was nowhere to sit and all the tables were covered in crap.

HULK SMASH.

bigTillyMint · 25/10/2016 16:47

See my post Herbs! Sympathies. At least you won't make that mistake again!

Let me know, Rudy & we could meet up for a Wine or Cake.

The things we do for our DC, Herbs. Hope you have a quiet day planned for tomorrow.

herbaceous · 25/10/2016 18:43

No quiet day. Driving to, Setting up, running and tidying away my dad's postponed 90th birthday party. Then discussing Money and The Future with mum, who will forget it all again.

Fun times.

Cremolafoam · 25/10/2016 18:56

Oh Herbs.Flowers

CointreauVersial · 25/10/2016 19:03

Grr, Herbs - sounds grim. I'm glad that the DCs and I did our "fun trips" thing during the two INSET days earleir in the month. So I feel no qualms about leaving them festering in PJs for the whole of half term while I go to work.

Seaside and parkside walks sound just lovely. Hope DS is starting to feel more positive, BTM.

Did you get your hoover, MrsS? I haven't done any big product tests for MN (only crisps, loocleaner, pasta sauce....all enjoyed and scrupulously reviewed) but I have done rather well over the years with prizes and whatnot.

Just tapping my fingers waiting for Mr Tesco. Typical - if I'm late home he's on the doorstep waiting for me, but when there's bugger all in the fridge for dinner he turns up late.

CointreauVersial · 25/10/2016 19:04

Herbs - I meant the day out with DS sounded grim.....but discussions with DM even grimmer. Sad

hattymattie · 25/10/2016 19:23

I am so glad I no longer have to do these horrendous kiddies' days out. Sending strength for tomorrow Herbs, doesn't sound fun either.

I was wondering about the vacuum cleaner as well Mrs S? Also was your VIP pleasant and charming?

We have a new tumble drier so all systems go in the laundry department - that is about the chief excitement of today - may have wine to celebrate such is my boring life these hols. Seeing friend for lunch in Paris tomorrow though.
