Have you seen any nice BROGUES?

I'd like some flat or very-low heel brogues.

Not the kind with the very thick platform-ish sole.

Maybe in that nice dark red colour (oxblood). Or maybe just black.

Maybe with those patterny holes.

Not the part-black-part-white ones that make me think I should be a tap-dancing gangster.

Anyone seen any? Or GOT some?

I have a pair of patent black Clarks Hamble - not bad at all. Also some brown brogue boots from Dune, really comfortable.

Just bought the Hambles in green. I love them. Though DH has started calling them my elf shoes. He is of course, wrong.

Another vote for Hamble Oaks from Clarks. I bought the tan pair last week and love them! There was a 20% off code, it might be worth seeing if you can find one (I had mine on a promotional card which they took from me so don't know it).

The website is calling it "gold metallic" but is that what you mean when you're saying pewter?

Ummm.... the Hamble Oaks are comfortable, but I think the OP ought to be aware that in a survey, it was found that 6/10 primary school teachers own a pair*. Including me.

No, mine are actually pewter. I got mine in TK Made though so maybe they were end of line??

I have the Clarks ones too. Wore them yesterday and walked loads - super comfy.

I am now torn between the colours that the website calls "aubergine" and "gold metallic".

I love my patent black Hambles, to add diversity to Matildas statistics I work in a secondary school.

I have the aubergine hambles and I luffs them. They are more plummy than oxblood.

I controversially prefer Clarks Tomina Mia in black (strap monk shoes instead of brogues).

OK I'm going for the aubergine, since I did say that I wanted a reddish colour (no true oxblood available in this season's lines apparently). And I love purple.

As an alternative to the hambles, which are lovely.
