I am baffled by the popularity of Cos

Who wants to look like this?!

The model looks like her head has shrunk or that she is wearing clothes about 10 sizes too big for her.

Everything is so shapeless and blah and yet it's lauded as a style haven.

I don't get it.

I'm sure it speaks highly of you Scarlet!

MissBeehiving · 01/01/2017 08:46

Ooh, LOVE Tilda Swinton

Floisme · 01/01/2017 10:55

I love her too. In fact it was a Tilda Swinton jibe that first got me thinking I might be missing a trick.

I'm a size 20-22. The clothes go up to a size 18 and look baggy, do you think I could fit into an 18?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/01/2017 13:39

Yes Cray - I do think so but depending on style and cut of item - ie a 'L' rather than a 44 if that makes sense. The fitted things can be cut small ime - especially across the bust and in the arms - so a tailored shirt or fitted skirt maybe no good but a jersey dress in a Large might be perfect. ... HTH

Craycr4y · 01/01/2017 15:42

Many thanks - might have a butchers and see if any fit that spec :)

Looks like someone's first ever dressmaking project!

Well I went to Oxford street and tried on a million things. Bought one (lovely skirt). It was exactly as I expected it to be when I started the thread. Baggy and frumpy or clingy fabric or too long. Just made me look so so dumpy. And I'm a 5'2 size 12 with a tummy. The skirt was v nice though. Thick fabric. Navy blue knee length a line. And I can wear it with everything.

Ooh I love Cos. I'm 5'4" and about a 20Xmas Blush and their shift dresses really work for me. When I first went in I thought nothing would fit but their sizing is generous and the cut is forgiving. Plus I like most of their colours.
