Glad he's out of High Dependency, Rudy, and that progress is being made.

Report
Rosebag · 03/09/2016 23:42

That's an important move Rudy. Thank goodness. Xx
We are now sitting in the car at the station waiting for the DC who have been to Wicked again. Got the kids week tickets, DS being 18 as the "paying adult" and DD being the "child".
My feet ache but the dress was much complimented and thereby is deemed a success Smile

Rudy, great to hear he's been moved out of high dependency Smile You have done so well soldiering on through all of this Star

CV, that sounds like the right decision for him - at least he won't have the angst of trying to settle into a new place as well as the massive step up to A'levels. And maybe the school run/whatever will be easier for you too?! I will probably have a very similar situation this time next year.

Rose, glad you had a good night and upheld the crepey S&B banner!

I completely lost my voice at the party yesterday and it's still gone this morning - great timing for back to work tomorrow! Feeling a bit ropey too in the throat department, though at least no hangover!

Phew Rudy that must be a relief. hope you have had some sleep.

Report
Lalsy · 04/09/2016 09:09

CV, it does sound sensible. Those two years go so quickly, to get set up somewhere else is quite hard I think, unless it is what you really want/need.

Rudy that is good to hear. One step on the road to recovery.
Here I think the break has done DDad good - just being in a different environment....

bigTillyMint · 04/09/2016 10:27

Definitely BD - a change of scene and a break from the usual routine does everyone good.

Rose, I am LOL'ing at the thought of DD being the paying adult and DS the child this time next year - we were all at a party yesterday and there were, yet again, several raised eyebrows/comments/laughter at DS being younger than DD. She doesn't look that young, she is just petite and pretty whilst DS is tall and looks older for his age. Luckily she seems to be resigned to it now!

Morning all. I am feeling sorry for myself today...so I've been messaging my cousin in India and arranged to go to Auroville for new year GrinGrin

Nice one, MI. Can you do something upcheering today?

Must buy India ticket this week. I hate buying tickets...

Have moderate-to-severe hangover, following having lovely friend for dinner. We talked relocation, and the fact that two of our remaining London-based mutual friends seem to have dropped us all in favour of a ghastly couple who just happen to have lots of money and free BA flights. Made me v sad. I've known them since university, and we lived together for many years. Added to the feeling of needing to move on.

During this cogitation, two aperol spritzes and nearly a bottle of red were consumed. Fortunately I have a lazy day today, though also need to buy tickets - this time for the train to Margate.

Good to hear about recovering sons and fathers. I went to see my aged Ps yesterday, and it was fine. Mum very 'mum'-like, though rather forgetful. And there's quite a smell of wee. Natch, moving to Northumberland wouldn't be great for visiting in a hurry...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 04/09/2016 11:48

Herbs, maybe you can hang on to the idea of Northumberland (ddog's native habitat btw) as a plan in the back of your mind... it will still be there in a few years Wink. You have a while before secondary school issues rear their ugly head!

Dp and I rather hammered it last night and I am feeling very tired (also had a bit of a moment crying on the stairs...)

Taking DDad out for dinner tonight (sans wine as I have to get up for work tomorrow, which I am not looking forward to - having to deal with an applicant who is threatening us with legal action)

Cremolafoam · 04/09/2016 12:33

Oh BD, how awful. I hope it turns out ok. I'm sorry you're having to deal with that.

Rose, you look stunning in that frock.

CV, glad he's made the decision finally, and is happy with it.

BTM I am also hoarse of throat and am supping on an honey lemon and cider vinegar concoction. It's helping a bit, but I am still squeaky. Tired and emosh week I think.
Must be better for next weekend. I am observing the weather forecast for London and it looks hot for next weekend which is the making of a style disaster for me. My dress is categorically Autumn-Winter, with long sleeves. Too bad Crepeys, as I have nothing else.Grinno doubt I will be pink facedBlushthroughout !

I am going to be hard-pressed to look 'glam', as anything remotely fitting that description is not remotely fitting me, what with being post-holiday fat. Not sure I'll shed half a stone in a week. Particularly as the first two days of it will be spent carb-loading in Margs.

Lalsy · 04/09/2016 13:21

I may go to a Labour Party event before your do, Crem. What a style challenge that combo will present Smile

Feel better, throaty ones

Report
Cremolafoam · 04/09/2016 13:27

Please don't worry about style everyone. I bought a dress ages ago, and it needs to be worn at least once to justify it's purchase. I'd much rather just have you there wearing anything old thing at all. If you fancy dressing up a bit, do. If you don't , come as you are.Grin

Grin at Lalsy attempting to combine Corbyn Chic with Islington Glam. Maybe sling a nice brown jacket over the sequins? I shall probably dig out the Annabel's Party jumpsuit I wore for BIL's 50th.

No hangover here....had a very dull evening in, catching up on recorded TV in an attempt to reduce the V+ Box contents. I was also on pick-up duty. DS has been to the same girl's house three times in the last week, and now admits they are an item. I had a go at him for not choosing someone who lives closer! She is a good eight miles away, in the middle of nowhere.

Herbs - I'm also wondering whether Northumberland should perhaps be put on the back burner with your DPs still around. As many others can attest, distance can be a massive hindrance in an Aged P Crisis. Tempting though it is to bail.....Is there somewhere a little closer to Ps that would still satisfy your wish to move out of London? Which I totally understand, by the way. GGG is right - you have a little while yet.

Rudy - glad progress is being made regarding DS's immediate condition; here's hoping he'll get home soon.

Hugely looking forward to it Crem! Don't worry, I don't really do glam but am delighted to have the chance to scrub up in my own donkey jacket way 😀😀

Flowers Brew Belated happy birthday BTM! I hope it's a smashing year for you and that you feel much more wellerer v soon.

CV, glad ds is sorted. Being thanked for listening is lovely.

Rudy, out of HDU is good but sorry it's not more conclusive.

'carb-loading in Margs' - excellent, Herbs!

Fuming for you Beachy re party arse. How very dare he?

Rose - dress = gorge.

Hatty - Stonehenge misty and on your own? Yes! Exactly how I felt about Giant's Causeway which was RAMMED.

NU - thank goodness your tickets are sorted.

BD - sometimes you just have to get bladdered, innit Sad Good luck feeling better.

I am sitting here in peaceful silence. DD2 vetoed any playscheme stuff all hol and promised she'd meet up with lots of people and be out tons but she was here. All the time, and talking to me, moving around, making noise, ignoring clear boundaries about work/not disturbing me. Hard to go out with laptop as nascent rsi/neck shoulder issues exacerbated by working at non-home office set up. I have the startle reflex of that Catherine Tate character. DD only has to cough and I'm leaping three feet in the air [BLUSH]. My lovely sis has stepped into the breach again today and taken her out.

How was boyf MI? We 'entertained' DD1's Beach Boy to lunch, snack and dinner (I didn't realise they only materialised from their room if/when there was food on the table. I'm inclined to serve running tapas all day when he's next here so we can - lightly - grill him for a bit longer.) He is sweet and tall and lovely looking and has an old school non-brands euro way of dressing, Dutch or French... anyway, he was rabbit caught in headlights and we didn't get much banter out of him but he and DD1 laugh like drains on their own. She is utterly smitten, as he seems to be too.

DH, otoh is totally depressed again Sad. Not sleeping, the works. My heart aches for him, he feels grim. He needs a holistic overhaul imo. Talking therapy, career counselling, AD's the lot. I'm being assertive to that end and he is grateful.

Oh God Stropps Shock

Cremo, your post about sunny weather has cheered me up - I have a sleeveless number lined up!

Herbs, you can only move up to Northumberland if you buy a mansion up there so that we can come and visit! And yes, I agree with distance and Aged P's being a bloody hindrance.
