Cake Wine Star Chocolate Tilly have a wonderful day and wish you better I hate to rain on the parade but booze is very bad for a hoarse voice, just saying sorry too about your DM

Flora and GGG feeling the parent angst with you. No answers here...I have not managed things very well with my own AP's at times..but it takes two and if they push us away, well that in itself is a choice, albeit not a very happy one Sad Flowers

CV brilliant about your job and promotion! Is this a new wardrobe opportunity????

How are things this morning Rudy?

Well thank you kind laydeez, for the affirmations about the dress....its the cheapest one out of the three too.... I would still rather not have such huge hips...even when I was very thin they stuck out like a barrel. I would like to be straight up and down, like a boy. Yes, I would.

BTM, happy birthday!

Report
florascotianew · 03/09/2016 11:10

So sorry to hear that, BTM. I wholeheartedly agree.
Many thanks Rose and other kind Crepeys for your sympathy. And many apologies, too. I've been so wrapped up in my own concerns that I have not offered congratulations for the achievements/enrolments of several young persons. Very best wishes to them. And, Rose, that's a great dress!

Centuries ago, I remember a teenage party when a friend's boyfriend ate a daffodil. Not quite sure why - may have been a drunken dare. So far as I know, he was v sick but no lasting ill effects.

Happy Birthday BTM! I am going to try and drink less, since my horrendous hangover the other week. Maybe will limit myself to weekends, which Is what I usually try to do, although have gone off the rails a bit, recently.

Lunch eaten, BTM - happy birthday and sympathies re DM.

Rose - dress is amazing and you have a lovely figure.

Rudy - hope things are continuing on an even keel for DS and that you have rested a bit.

Beachy - you have described everything I dread about teenage parties. Little oiks. Medal of courage to you.

Am sending DH to buy trainers for the DC's at Decathlon as I hate the place and he rather likes it.

Happy birthday, BTM. Have a lovely day.

Beachy, you are ace about the teenage parties: I am afraid I chickened out.

Love the dress, Rose. And they are not big hips (looks down at her ample ones).

All is not happy here: we had to confirm our flights this morning. DH has been on the laptop/phone for hours. The flights were booked in February - atm I think we're going, but not sure how we're getting back. Shock The travel company we used doesn't appear to have talked to BA. This has shades of when we arrived in Amsterdam a few years ago to discover that all of our flights had been cancelled, bar the internal ones in the UK.

Report
Rosebag · 03/09/2016 12:25

Shock NU Dunno if it helps but I got an email yesterday to say BA has announced it's sale...there seem to be very good prices across the pond. Hope it sorts out.

DS1's 16th birthday party ended in me confiscating his mobile and grounding him for three weeks. We received poison pen texts threatening to go to the police alleging all sorts of things. NEVER again.

Report
NUFC69 · 03/09/2016 12:36

Unbelievable, Rose, re DS and his friends.

Re flights, it would appear that BA cancelled the actual flight and the travel company either didn't know, or forgot to tell us, and nobody bothered to try to book alternatives. In other news (also unhappy) when DH went to the chemist to pick up the meds he ordered over the phone midweek, he discovered that they hadn't sent the scripts for everything, so he's short on one particular thing. Can't do anything about that until Monday first thing.

Report
hattymattie · 03/09/2016 12:38

NU - nightmare - hope get it sorted. I always worry about this sort of thing happening.

RoseShock at poisoned texts - they all sound horrible.

Happy Birthday BTM Flowers

And thanks for new thread Beachy. ( great title) Bad wee rat telling you to f-off. I'd have been incandescent and removed said chap from house with boot up arse.

Gosh this thread has moved très vite.

GGG your concert sounds fabulous. Enjoy! I did enjoy the Deep Blue Sea in the end. Yes, quite traumatic but the ending was super and Helen McCrory was entrancing,

Dad is in better form and phoned before I left to say he was hungry so quickly 'baked a few spuds in the microwave and melted a bit of butter over them. dad almost inhaled them,. All this good sign, I think.
Dsis and DM have cooked up a plan that involves me going to France to clear the house, with mum and dsis having Dad in a bed ! Set up in their dining room. This is all organised, ( dad was able to tell me) without any consultation with me.
WinkGrin This is typical. Obviously my work is completely incidental to them.

Sorting out woodpile today ( Dh is brandishing chainsaw as I type) DON't ask.

Cremolafoam · 03/09/2016 12:43

NU oh dear, that's awful. And sorry about meds as well. This keeps happening to me too and it drives me nuts. It's almost a full time job sorting meds in this house.

Hatty I will pm.the address.
