Just seen your latest post, Stropps. So sorry. How is she now? And how is your ds?

Report
motherinferior · 04/09/2016 17:27

Oh hell, Stropps.

BTM, I agree with MM. When my sister was acutely anorexic at 17 nobody even noticed.

Blackduck · 04/09/2016 17:29

Stropps so very sorry. Must be hard to know what to do for the best...

Yes, how is DS?

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Monty, she's now back watching crap tv and eating biscuits, a bit like it all never happened. Hmm Luckily, ds just happened to get an invite round to a friend's this afternoon to try out their new table tennis table, so he's been out of the way the whole time, thank goodness. Although another of his friends (who lives just across the road) walked past when I was talking to the police and also clocked the ambulance. So I shall have to tell ds at least some of it when he comes home.

The paramedic said the amount dd had taken could have had very serious effects, such as fitting, or a cardiac arrest. Which would have happened in the 6 hours after she took the tablets yesterday (she didn't tell me until late this morning). I did point out to her that at one point in those six hours, she was driving around in my car with a friend of hers. The ambulance etc wasn't my idea, I phoned 111 to get advice and once they'd heard the details they insisted on sending the whole shebang because she was refusing to go to A&E.

MI, your DM was probably pleased she was so "slim"Sad

Stropps you absolutely did the right thing. Thank god DS was at a friends and was spared the drama.

Oh Stropps........I hope she agrees to get some counselling. It sounds like a lot has happened at once to shake her up, mentally and physically.....is your term about to start?

I agree with others, BTM. My school was full of girls with serious MH problems, some because hey just did and some because they had divorce, bereavement, family problems etc, all as old as the hills. It was ignored and never, not once, were we told what to do if worried about a friend. Doesn't make dealing with all this now any easier of course.

motherinferior · 04/09/2016 17:53

Ain't that the truth, BTM. Sad

Report
bigTillyMint · 04/09/2016 17:55

I just think it's so sad that we are all so much more aware now, but that MH services haven't been invested in enough to meet the need. Same as SEN provision and "Care in the Community" Sad

Sorry X post. Crem oh no.

Indeed mrsS. If it wouldn't clear the room I would don my sequinned donkey jacket and sing for you all.

Gosh - Stropps - just checked in at the end of everything. So glad she is back home and safe for the moment.

Rudy - happy to hear that DS is out of immediate danger and on the road to recovery.

Herbs - Darlington is just to the South of Durham and another drivable job spot. As somebody from Teesside, I do feel Durham is a bit of an oasis in the middle of many blighted mining towns. Newcastle is a city that has it all and is nearer to Northumbria. Personally, I'd go for York which is lovely and surrounded by the North Yorkshire moors and the Dales - also with good schools, and a stones throw from the much revamped Leeds. Also for you, fast train to London.

Oh no Cremo. Hopefully the hospital will be all over it Flowers

Hope your DS is continuing to improve Rudy and that you are eating plenty of Cake

Lalsy, you always look lovely - don't put yourself down!

Only 6 sleeps to go Smile

Maybe the singers amongst us (ie NOT me!) could do a little acapella number for Cremo and our entertainment? Rose, could you organise them?!

Aww BTM. But don't you worry - I am planning to rock my (imaginary) sequinned donkey jacket. Ye yes yes please o musical entertainment

Save all party pieces for next Saturday night please. I am encouraging all outrageous behaviour and inappropriate drunkenness. We ALL NEED IT for whatever reason. Bearing in mind that Hattie has never met most of us.

Stropps, you are amazing for seeing the mildly funny side of these crises. I do share that with you as I know otherwise you'd throw yourself off a pier.Grin
Our poor young people though. Hope dd is back in her on her meds and will perhaps talk to someone about what's going on. Is there a jeune homme sérieux ?
I hope there is someone.

Dad is in a ventilator and they are squeezing antibiotics into him. He has a lovely attentive nurse who doesn't mind his filthy sense of humour and him launching into a song with her name in it. < eye roll >
He seems to be in reasonable form but looks v frail suddenly.

We can sort you out, Hatty.

I have made Malay chicken curry for dinner, and an aubergine and pea side curry, which I hope will do for one meal next week, maybe with a chickpea curry or some lentils.

I am sucking down a nice glass of Cloudy Bay, half price at Morrisons in Margate. Shock

Really not looking forward to work tomorrow...

DP is cooking salmon and oven chips (we have a glut of oven chips). I am swigging fair-trade Malbec.

In writing news I did a chapter of 1,766 words this weekend. This rewrite is involving quite a bit of new stuff.

We have been next door to lovely neighbours, and had some fizz and some gin. Shortly to eat baked potatoes, with veggie chilli, and have one more glass of wine.

Need to pack a bag for Margate. Mrs S - any recommendations food/attraction wise?
