I like sound of Jan, some of us (cough, cough, shuffles feet). Have birthdays in Jan and like the thought of a bit of celebration....(didn't we do Jan last year and I believe it worked well)

motherinferior · 12/09/2016 11:48

I can't do that earlier Sat, I'm afraid, as I have just arranged to go to Edinburgh. But mid-Jan would be lovely have I mentioned I am going AWAY??

Sat 3rd sounds good. Jan is not so good for me - usually annual stuff on that people arrange to cheer us all up!

Rudy, don't encourage me too!

Cremolafoam · 12/09/2016 12:42

Darling Addle, happy birthdayCake

Monty , go you for organising in good time. I am used to having to deal with Xmas early as start selling panto in May. ( oh yes we do) oh and your cake organisation was fantabulaous so extra special thanks.

December bolleaux for me, but languid January a good idea as Something To Look Forward to in The Gloom. After Magi is back?

BD fabulous deck and loving the GD balcony and view. Grinabsolutely spot on with dearth of glass and impending pregnancy adding the extra stress in GD. Grin

Yesterday started so beautifully with lovely Rudy and Hatty at GGGs pad. Plus just wanted to say thanks to both Rudy and Hatty for paying for taxis when I was so disorganised with cash. You are both wee gems, and I apologise for being hopeless.
Fuelled by smoked salmon and divine scrambled eggs ( you are a saint GGG) I arrives at St Pancakes only to find Thameslink shut all day yesterday, so had to backtrack to London Bridge to get a Southern to Gatwick. It took forever and through stations I've never even heard of . And I Though I had a decent knowledge of South London. Plane only delayed for 40minutes, but God Gatwick is a hell hole.
Glad to get home even to howling windy wintry weather. We even have a tree down wtf?
Poor goats huddling in corner of their house. Dh lived on pizza while I was away.

Saw Dad who was very confused and tired. Just wants home, understandably .Sad

JM, I also think a dark smart trouser , flat sandal or heels of you can, and silken vest or shell and structured jacket to fling on and off as needed. Sounds fun. Is it you're Dh whose photos are on show?

Have spent this morning lurking in work, planning hectic week. Need to cover 15 shifts with burnt out staff. Trying not to sigh.

Lalsy · 12/09/2016 12:42

Great crepey-wrangling, Monty. I like sound of mid Jan onwards as we will be clear of awful festive menus and office parties and MI and MM can tell us their travel tales.

Cremolafoam · 12/09/2016 12:45

Twice, with typos and rogue capitals. Sorry.

magimedi · 12/09/2016 13:02

Crem, I think you must live very close to a friend of mine (who I also met on line, some 10 years ago). Near a town that begins with 'C'??

Stropperella · 12/09/2016 13:21

Whizzing in to ask re: MU - if not early Dec, then is late Nov a possibility? I suspect I won't be able to get away much at all after Christmas, as will be starting postgraduate doodah and weekends will all be working ones.

Cremolafoam · 12/09/2016 13:30

Ooh yes Stropps. Betwixt C and B. Small world of course. GrinEspecially in NI as now Monty., Mrs S and Addle know.

Cremolafoam · 12/09/2016 13:31

Stropps, is it strangely quiet about the house today without dd?

Rosebag · 12/09/2016 13:32

Love this tube wifi! What a lovely idea Monty and you've done all the research too. I'm a firm believer in going with the majority on these things. So go for the best hit and I'll tag along if I possibly can... Havent got a bad record on getting to MUs using this philosophy!!

I am meeting a sweet but vaguely annoying cousin for tea in fave Piccadilly store to which I have been with molls. We agreed to go for brunch and then she confirms saying "I'll meet you at 3"Confused
She is very posh. I am wearing a Next black linen shift which iirc cost £28. Lol

Blackduck · 12/09/2016 13:39

Yes Nov also a good call.

Rudy thank you for the very nice comment Blush

I am struggling today - very very tired.

Auriga · 12/09/2016 13:50

3 Dec or mid Jan fine for me, end Nov also possible.

Final visit to DM's solicitor this morning. But have had a letter addressed to DM from teachers' pension agency which has incensed me. They have been informed by the General Register Office that her 'status has changed' and they want her to confirm asap Shock

I informed them of her death, with all relevant details, in March. Also did the 'tell us once' government notification. And I have repaid the six days' pension that they wanted to claw back because she died before the end of the month.

What possible excuse can there be? Angry

Lalsy · 12/09/2016 14:03

None, Auriga. That is appalling. If you can bear it, tweet them with a photo (with details blacked out)? Senior management may see it that way.

Cremolafoam · 12/09/2016 14:19

Agree with tweeting gets results way forward. They cannot ignore it if on there.
So sorry Auriga. Thats just dreadful.

bigTillyMint · 12/09/2016 14:19

End of Nov good for me too Smile

AurigaShock Surely that is a non-human error - no one could be that insensitive. I agree with Lalsy.

Blackduck · 12/09/2016 14:21

Auriga my dad's local council referred to my mother as 'he' and when my dad took them to task over this and various other errors in the letter (including a non working phone number) the 'apology' letter said they were sorry to hear about the death of his mother..... You couldn't make this up...

Collymollypuff · 12/09/2016 14:51

End of November is good for me and hooray it's sooner. Grin Then we could still have a Christmas Recovery and Travellers' Tales one in January.

MontserratCaballe · 12/09/2016 15:06

Auriga, I am so sorry. Things like this can be so very upsetting.

So - should we have a festive gathering for those who can on Sat 26th Nov and a post holiday mop up in the end of Jan? I realise that this won't work for us all but I hope everyone who wanted to could get to one or the other.

Do we think Cote menu better? BB looks amazing but is £42 plus wine and service, so might end up rather spendy...

Let me know if this sounds like a plan and I will investigate further.

bigTillyMint · 12/09/2016 15:10

26th Nov is good for me! Cote looks good, but either fine - Star for Monty!

Collymollypuff · 12/09/2016 15:11

It IS a plan - well done, Monty. 26 November is great for me. Either venue is OK by me.

I'll say 26th - should be okay!
