Oh yes, Justme. And MrsW!

magimedi · 11/09/2016 17:32

So pleased you all had such a good time.

Felt remarkably OK this morning after 'street' party - but I have never known the road so quiet for so long today. Most neighbours went on until 2.30am!!

Waves to Justme & MrsM - I am a relatively new crepe & haven't actually met any crepes (sadly could not go to last night's party) but it's a very welcoming & friendly group. Mind you, you have to pay attention as threads move fast Grin

Crem I don't think I ever said Happy Birthday to you so a belated Cake from me.

magimedi · 11/09/2016 17:33

Am now mighty curious to hear about peculiar banned woman

Lalsy · 11/09/2016 17:52

Stropps, glad you are feeling relaxed, enjoy, You so deserve it.

Rudy, it was lovely to see you. Any time you want to let things wash over you, you know you can rely on us to keep the conversation going Smile and just say the word and we won't ask any questions.

Back to reality here - trying to suggest to ds that a bit of uni research/tidying up his shedloads of gear might be preferable to X box.....

JustmeandtheChickens · 11/09/2016 18:07

Thank-you all - what a lovely welcome :-)

You sound like you've had a great evening out - the menu looked lovely!!

I need some S&B advice - DH is a keen amateur photographer and has won tickets to photograph an event at London Fashion Weekend at the Saatchi Gallery at the end of the month - I am also going as the prize is for 2. Dress code for the photographers pit is smart casual and I may need to sit on the floor. So, what to wear .. I've assumed we'll be surrounded by uber trendy youngsters!!

Auriga · 11/09/2016 19:07

Rudy, no wonder you were wiped out but thanks for making the effort to come in the middle of all that anxiety. It was wonderful to see you and you don't need to be on top form for us.

And well done to all the others who came in spite of family worries, not least Crem, for a while there with your DF's post-op problems I was afraid you wouldn't make it to your own party.

And Montserrat, MI and BD Flowers on the bereavement bench and WAF with your DH's illness and Herbs with parental worries. Good for us all to have a break.

DH met me at the station with DDog Star then went & brought DD back from her post-concert party, with slightly tiddly suitor in tow Grin We put him in the spare room and took him on a long dog walk after breakfast (thought of you, MI and Addle). Delightful boy. When is she going to rebel?

Welcome new folk. These people really are just as they seem on the thread. Dive in, you won't be disappointed.

motherinferior · 11/09/2016 19:34

Hurrah, I've revamped a 3,785-word section this weekend. Am relieved and pleased with self.

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 19:37

Thought it was time for an update - patio sans glass - dp says the is like Grand Designs - they are always delayed by glass ... And then she gets pregnant (BD looks horrified)...

Someone left a Crepe out in the rain
Blackduck · 11/09/2016 19:38

Rail is at perfect leaning height.....

herbaceous · 11/09/2016 19:58

Blimey, BD! That's fantastic! Very Grand Designs. I shall expect the patter of tiny feet shortly.

Rudy - even below par, you were lovely company and very beautiful. And I love your Viv dress and racy jacket.

We have just been to KFC for a Sunday evening treat. I am not allowed to tell anyone in real life.

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 20:11

Ha ha Herbs re KFC and not telling anyone in 'real life'..,
Watching 'Motherhood'.

addle · 11/09/2016 20:12

Crem - thank you and all the other crepeys for a splendid and special evening. like others I can't always hear but was delighted to see everyone.

delicious food and cocktails. followed today as those who are FB friends will know by decidedly declasse by delicious birthday kebabs and cans in the park with lovely family. was horrified when i found out that dd had uploaded the photo not least because i'd taken off my really very nice top to enjoy the sun as much as possible in the strappy top underneath. funny juxtaposition with beachy's goodwood photos

Rudy - I thought you did amazingly and it was wonderful to see you

Hattie - lovely to meet you

MI congrats on booking your tickets!

bigTillyMint · 11/09/2016 20:16

BD, it looks fab. Next MU at yours? Grin

Motherhood? Is this another new show?
DH and I have just caught up on last weeks Victoria (all high-brow, us!) and are ready for this weeks at 9Smile

Herbs, your KFC would not be a treat for me - memories of a (lovely) house-mate years ago frequently coming home drunk with it. The smell Grin

hattymattie · 11/09/2016 20:18

Amazing decking and view BD.

Good news on revamp MI.

Mrs S - hope extended essay/theatre project is nearing completion.

DD2 enjoyed Prague although one of the girls seemed to have limitless funds and wanted to eat in restaurants which DD and friend could not afford.

I am also very curious about peculiar banned woman.

JustMe - welcome - I'm sure one of the fashionable crepies will be along to advise on smart casual in a minute.

Crem - hope you're back safely.

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 20:24

Motherhood - one off programme - apparently MN is the template...

bigTillyMint · 11/09/2016 20:33

Justme, I have no idea what people wear to photography exhibitions! I would wear trousers if sitting on the floor - maybe black cigarette pants with a fabulous top?!

bigTillyMint · 11/09/2016 20:34

Worth searching out on catch-up, BD?

MrsSchadenfreude · 11/09/2016 20:34

Theatre stuff done. Extended Essay Trauma continuing. And Ominous Email from Head of Boarding who is following up Complaint From Academic Dean and Wishes To See Us At Our Earliest Convenience. He is in London tomorrow so have invited him to tea at my office. Gin may be preferable to tea...

Am going to run away with the cat and hide somewhere until the summer.

Stropperella · 11/09/2016 20:36

JustMe, anything requiring me to sit on the floor would find me wearing jeans, I think. But then, I'm not an urbanite, so am prob not the best person to advise.

Dh picked me up from the station and told me that he had cleaned the bathroom "because I thought you'd like that". So, not because it was dirty then? Grin

Herbs, your secret is safe with us. Grin

Dd has been in touch via Fb messenger to say that her room is still tidy. And ds has informed me that he has done his homework and hoovered the stairs. And as dd wasn't here, there was no fight to referee when I got home. It's all good!

Love your view BD. Am sure it would definitely be further enhanced by a sprinkling of crepeys with wine. Grin

Stropperella · 11/09/2016 20:38

X-posts MrsS. Oh dear Sad

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/09/2016 20:44

Welcome Justme! Do hang around...
I think for your fab sounding event I might wear something quite plain and simple - black slim trousers, maybe plain silk / cotton fitted shirt but with a fab coat on top if you have one... which you can look glam in but take off if you have to sit on floor etc....

Pleased to hear everyone got home safely one way or another!
It was lovely to see the airbnbers for breakfast this morning too.
Here's to meeting up again soon.

here it's been a bit dullsville (think lots of washing and supermarket shopping. But did go to see Julieta at the cinema which was very good.

hattymattie · 11/09/2016 20:45

Tea spiked with gin Mrs S?

Stropps FB Messenger is a brilliant tool for keeping in touch. Quite often I'll find some random musing from DD which is lovely. I also use it for telephoning which saves me a fortune. Glad the troops mobilised and cleaned in your absence, although I love how they expect you to be impressed for doing something which you do all the time (mine do anyway).

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 20:46

Stropps - clean bathroom? You are easily pleased Grin

I am sure I could get you all on the patio - and wonderful you would look but I have insufficient chairs so whatever the decision is re Justmes outfit I would suggest you all copy as you'll be sitting on the floor!

MrsS oh dear - any idea what's coming????

Rosebag · 11/09/2016 20:49

Brill news on the India ticket and the writing MI!

Rudy No one would have known. You looked beautiful Flowers

Crem Hope you got home and the flight was not too delayed.

Addle Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!! Wine Cake ...I'm a bit slow off the mark reading fb today.

Welcome Justme. Hope you stay. Not sure what your style is.... here is my current favourite find for dresses but were you after trousers given you might have to sit on the floor? Otherwise I tend to go for chinos (navy?) with a camisole/smart vest top and a sharp jacket. Heels if you can manage them. Dunno...can you give us more info re what you like?

DC have been beyond vile today. DH was out all day. I can hardly talk.

bigTillyMint · 11/09/2016 20:50

Jeez, MrsSShock
This is just because she hasn't completed some work?
Definitely serve gin!

Stropps, result! Even if they haven't quite grasped that it is their house too, and they should be doing it anyway!
I agree re FB messenger. We also use What's App a fair bit.
