Come on down, am putting the kettle girls

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/09/2016 15:34

I will aim to get there for around 6. Had nice co-codamol induced sleep and now feeling much better. DD1 and DD2 are doing the work they should have done months ago for school. DD2 had an early night, got up early and is steaming ahead with the work. DD1 had to be virtually dragged out of bed at 1000 and since then has just sat at the table and screamed (literally, yes) and had hysterical crying, so no actual progress made. It has also transpired that as well as her extended essay, she has to do her final theatre presentation on Monday, and this is also not finished. I have told her to do her theatre presentation and get that finished today (so that at least she will have achieved something) and I will sit down with her and we will sort out the essay tomorrow (she is now at 1,600 words, so not marvellous, but a bit better).

Rosebag · 10/09/2016 17:23

That's progress MrsS !

I am indeed a Crepe in the rain. Will have to wear boots to travel and carry my heels in a carrier bag. And forgive me, I just can't do Spanx today. The flab is all hanging out and very lumpen. I just need to breathe...

MontserratCaballe · 10/09/2016 17:30

Rose, you always look lovely. Dress will be beautiful, I am sure. I too am rather wet. If only I fitted my summer jacket....

A few things got in the way of my leaving early and getting glammed up alas, so I am a little understated. Apologies. Am nonetheless hugely excited.

See you in an hour or so SmileWine

magimedi · 10/09/2016 23:18

I have raised a glass to you all tonight - ended up having an impromptu street party chez les neighbours & I am totally & utterly stocious!

Hope you are all similar Grin

JustmeandtheChickens · 10/09/2016 23:30

I think this is one of the very nicest threads on Mumsnet.

I've lurked for a while and you are all so supportive of one another - you all give great but realistic (with sometimes no punches) advice!

Can I join in?

I work from- home - struggle with procrastination - no kids - and trying to be Fabulous @ 50!!

Blackduck · 10/09/2016 23:38

Justme - welcome....

Megi - I am very sober but less so others :)

Rose - you looked fab, ditch the spandex girl!

stropps loving that top.....
Sorry not to get to talk to everyone and darn wasn't it noisy (and I suspect the other diners hated us :)
Love to you all and hope everyone gets home safely..... I had the continued signal failure trauma.....

CointreauVersial · 10/09/2016 23:53

I'm on the train home. Regular readers will know I occasionally have trouble finding stations and catching trains after MN meetups, and I did my damnedest to miss this one - I hopped on a bus towards Angel, saw it was headed to London Bridge and decided to be lazy and stay on it instead of getting the tube.....but Christ it took ages weaving around various diversions and it was all a bit touch and go. Anyway, thanks for a super-fab-lovely-wonderful evening; I think I talked to most of you and drank more than my share of wine. Safe home, everyone.

MontserratCaballe · 11/09/2016 00:09

What a splendid evening! Thank you so much to Crem for the lovely cocktails. and what a fab resto! Great choice. Lovely to see everyone. Sorry I didn't get down the other end - however Molly and l are planning daytime fun (bumped into each other in the loo) and an east Dulwich night is also being mooted...

At the risk of pissing everyone off completely with the c word, shall we put in a Christmas date so that hattie and other people coming from afar can buy in advance whilst it's cheap? (NU? Magi? Flora? Would love to see you)

Justme - welcome. Always good to meet new people. Please do stick around.

herbaceous · 11/09/2016 00:25

Lovely lovely lovely crepeys. Once again didn't speak to you all, though the ones I did speak to I suspect I spoke too much. As per usual.

And I drank more than my share of the wine. Hic. Food was wonderful, and the belt that was loose when I left for the evening, is now digging in.

Next time I shall bring my ear trumpet so I can hear further than the person directly next to me.

Thank you so much to Crem for organising, and many apologies I didn't even get a card. Don't know why - I'm not usually quite so crap.

Lalsy · 11/09/2016 00:37

Lovely, lovely evening, thank you so much to Crem. Would other diners like us more if we all turned up with ear trumpets I wonder Grin? Fab to see/meet everyone, feel very full, happy and hoarse!

Justme, you seem to have got our measure Smile. Do join in.

motherinferior · 11/09/2016 00:47

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 06:32

How's everyone's head this morning?
Beachy hope you make that train!

Everyone looked very glam! Batty fab to actually meet you at last.

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 07:10

Hatty - ruddy autocorrect....

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 11/09/2016 07:37

On my way to the train, as we 'speak'.....

Fantastic evening, so many glamorous women in such a small space. Frankly, although we all agreed that most of the other customers could have been our offspring, I think we held our own....

I agree, ear trumpets next time Grin

hattymattie · 11/09/2016 07:46

GrinBD - lovely to meet you too. Batty probably sums it up. I am still in the Airbnb and can confirm Beachy was off and out super early. The other two are still sleeping it off.

Lovely evening with great food. You crepies are so kind, thanks for making me so welcome. Have to confess, was a little nervous as it was my first meet up but you were all lovely. I think I got to chat to everybody, however briefly, except, Molly, BD and Herbs. Will get you three next time. The red wine seems to have stained my teeth black, so I looked pretty scary when I got back to the Air bnb.

Rose your dress looked gorgeous.

Blackduck · 11/09/2016 08:03

I am on my way back home (signaling problem sorted) to supervise homework and get some time in my own home :). Something that has been in short supply recently.

Thanks again all!

herbaceous · 11/09/2016 09:43

Just enjoyed my GF roll, toasted with peanut butter and jam. Thanks WAF!

The food was yum, wasn't. And the bill suspiciously low...

bigTillyMint · 11/09/2016 09:55

Grin @ Batty Grin You weren't at all!

Thanks so much Cremo - it was a fab night! I will email you the photos the waitress took.
So lovely to see everyone Smile

It took Stropps and I some time to get home as I got us on a train without realising it was non-stopping to East CroydonShockGrin Suppose it gave me time to sober up a bit!

herbaceous · 11/09/2016 10:07

Should have had DS with you, BTM...

Lalsy · 11/09/2016 10:14

Hatty, so glad you braved it!

Monty, sorry I didn't get to meet you properly - next time - and yes to some advance planning.

wordassociationfootball · 11/09/2016 10:49

Oh Crem thank you for organising a lovely celebration of your 50 years. Was so glad to be there.

Turns out stuffing cheese down like a foie gras goose at 10 pm was recipe for reflux disaster but have managed a short jog and feel v smiley and lively for communing with my fellow crepes.
