God, I haven't even thought about what I'm going to wear! Too busy thinking about what I've ordered to eat, having a drink.... oh and seeing you lovely lot obvs.

motherinferior · 09/09/2016 18:00

I will dig out the black silk top I didn't wear to my mum's funeral and sling it in my bag ready to transform from Bluestocking to Lady Who Dines.Grin

Rosebag · 09/09/2016 18:04

I will attempt to shoehorn myself into last weekend's flowery wiggle dress but may require assistance going to the loo Grin

hattymattie · 09/09/2016 18:10

Hello ladies - very late check in today - but I've been rushing around trying to get stuff sorted so I can leave the family for one whole night Hmm

I can tell you I'm wearing black jeans and a black top (unimaginative). My only dress is linen and I fear that would not stand up to the journey. Also, I look weird in dresses! In a concession to glamour, I've had a blow dry which will probably have dropped out by tomorrow;

So glad Stropp's DD has made it to Uni.

Hope your've arrived safely Crem and that your DDad is OK.

Read about Mrs S's DD - yes can relate to that - would have been very annoyed!

MI - have bought very expensive bra today and blame you - you suggested Rigby and Peller so I browsed their website and saw a lovely Primadonna bra, which just happened to be in stock in my local bra shop. I, like Crem, am wide of back.

Crem - do we need towels for the Airbnb?

hattymattie · 09/09/2016 18:12

Oh - and is it hot in London - I have not packed any sort of jacket.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 18:22

It's been v v muggy Hatty and is currently a bit changeable. Warm today, little bit of sun then downpour, currently grey... HTH!
You can always buy an umbrella...

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/09/2016 18:25

Can someone remind me of where I am going and at what time?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 18:27

God, you know whenever I stray from the sanctuary of this thread it takes me about 5 mins to get into a row with someone!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 18:30

'Tis all in an email of 10th July Mrs S.. (well that's the date of mine...). If you can't find it pm me your email and I'll fwd it to you...

hattymattie · 09/09/2016 18:36

I have no clue where we're going - I'm hoping to be led by Crem.

bigTillyMint · 09/09/2016 18:43

I will be there at 6 with Stropps for the partaking of cocktails Grin

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 09/09/2016 18:50

I am also being led by CremWine

Have you seen my PM Beachy...?

hattymattie · 09/09/2016 18:58

Well apparently it will be tossing it down tomorrow afternoon.

Lalsy · 09/09/2016 19:01

I hope to be there for six or so...cocktails did you say? Grin. Happy to be led astray by anyone, especially the lovely birthday girl.

hattymattie · 09/09/2016 19:01

I am hoping there are some nice shops in Islington so I can have little mooch around tomorrow afternoon.

Grovelling greetings, Crepeys. Very sorry. Feel that having made use of your helpful advice and been in (much appreciated) receipt of your kind comments, I should at the very least try to keep in contact. But this week has been occupied with Aged Parent having had another fall, being taken to hospital, then let out with changed medication and all that entails. Plus ANOther elderly relative having an epic run-in with BT and asking for my help. No other organisation, in my experience, has such a capacity for generating absolute fury for its mixture of inepitude and staggeringly unhelpful high-handedness...

Stropps - your daughter is brave. And so are you. Let's hope that she does get to university and even better enjoys it.
Crem - So very sorry to hear about your DFather. It's a horrible shock for you and your DMum. I do hope that all goes well. Totally trivially, on the bra front (ho-hum) I am wide of ribcage at the front rather than back, but I agree with you that it's vv hard to find something comfortable.
Mrs S - Many commiserations re DD. So hard to comment without sounding fatuous. I do hope that she will one day realise that she has to decide what she wants and work for it.But she is is as yet so young.

I hope that you all have a wonderful meet-up. On the topic of menus, why is it that so may vegetarian dishes have such a high tomato content? Am not too keen on them, but they're really, really not easy to avoid.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 09/09/2016 19:32

I have, GGG, but my ability to act as a fully functioning adult seems to be a bit curtailed at the mo Grin

I will have to return really early on Sunday morning as I have a long standing ticket to a local thing we go to every year....I will feel atrocious on the train home, but c'est la vie....

OP posts:
GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 20:02

That's a completely acceptable explanation Beachy! See you tomorrow, fully functioning optional...

Cremolafoam · 09/09/2016 20:09

Hello Crepes.
Beachy, Rudy, Hattie , all fine. The flat is , fine. Not fab, but fine. All those arrival times are perfect. Aiming to be at Bar for 5.30pm ish up til the. I'll be at flat, or close.

We are supposed to be seated at the eating table by 7pm, if that helps. Yes, this has changed , but I have only now realised that it might affect some peeps. And felt too week to do anything about it in the last few days, sorry bout that. Still we have the table til 11.
Place is v lively noisy , so please bring ear horns and sharp elbows. They don't know what's about to hit them.Grin

Collymollypuff · 09/09/2016 20:22

I'll get there by 7pm then Crem. No problem. Will we be wearing party hats?

MontserratCaballe · 09/09/2016 20:27

Hello Flora. Please don't worry about keeping up - I think we all dip in as and when. Sometimes I post loads but a lot of the time I just read and wave....

Btw, I've ordered a tomato salad as my starter. Ha ha ha! I love them. I know by being a veg that they can be ubiquitous though. As can bloody roasted vegetables.

Tomorrow - message understood. I will get there for 6.30 then. Is nearest tube Highbury and Islington?

Chippy supper - job done. They even had curry sauce
