Flora, it's a full time job keeping up most of us just wing it. Or is that just me?!

Blackduck · 09/09/2016 20:42

It's either black dress (covers multitude of sins) or navy trousers and navy silk top.... Will see how I feel... I'm not drinking (ha ha).......,
Believe me I'm pretty sure this place won't know what's hit it!

bigTillyMint · 09/09/2016 20:44

Monty, I never had you down as a curry sauce on chips person Grin it was the food of my yoof, along with chip butties - no wonder I wasn't a slip of a thing Envy

Blackduck · 09/09/2016 20:44

Oh yes flora please don't worry just dive in.... We all lose track and I don't think anyone takes offense :). Sometimes it's like a party - you won't to be party of several conversations all at the same time!

bigTillyMint · 09/09/2016 20:44

Envy should be Grin!

Blackduck · 09/09/2016 20:45

MC looking forward to seeing you again!

herbaceous · 09/09/2016 20:46

What ho crepes. I shall get arse in gear to squeeze in a cocktail before dinner. Highly looking forward!

In parent news, it's a game of two halves. Mum has been out to both choir and her current affairs group, which is amazing considering three weeks ago she was gaga in hospital not knowing who she was. However, dad has got lots worse and has been hitting the carer, and having poo-related trouser problems. What to do...

In 60s fancy dress party news, I'm going to go as the moon landings. Have seen an ace helmet with flip-up visor, which I shall team with a USA flag, stiffened with a wire coat hanger, and possibly a white/silver jump suit.

MontserratCaballe · 09/09/2016 20:47

It's my Midlands roots - curry sauce was big there and I was veg for years so no fish (or battered sausage)....

First chip shop in London I've found with proper curry sauce. Olley's laughed me out if the place.

Blackduck · 09/09/2016 20:50

Oh Herbs so sorry re Dad. :(. A friend of mine had to separate her mum and dad - desperately sad but needs were different and she was attacking him. God it's crap....

I do admire your fancy dress - you really go for it - I always feel uncomfortable...

Blackduck · 09/09/2016 20:50

Midlands MC - where from?

Stropperella · 09/09/2016 20:53

Dd is currently feeling the Crepey love with all your lovely comments on FB. She has just messaged to say how you are all so nice. :) And also to say she has made 2 new friends already. So - we made it there - got through the massive panic attack she had when we arrived. 3 very nice young men Grin rushed over to help carry all her stuff in. We sorted out her room, and then she looked pretty happy - as those of you on FB can see.
I have very mixed emotions - as is only to be expected. Am having to stuff some supper down now and try to get to bed asap, as have to get the train at 5.45am. Here's hoping I don't fall asleep in my tomato salad!

Stropperella · 09/09/2016 20:57

Herbs, so sorry about your dad :( Thank goodness that your dm has bounced back, though. That is amazing progress.

MontserratCaballe · 09/09/2016 21:02

Stropps, we will pass out in our tomato salads together Smile. Dd has been amazing but the most credit goes to you for everything you have done to get her there. Don't forget that Smile

Herbs, sorry re DDad. I missed that earlier. My poor old dad had that too. It's horrid. So sorry to read that xxx

bigTillyMint · 09/09/2016 21:12

Monty I didnt realise you are almost a Northerner Grin

Herbs sorry about your dad. Incontinence common with vascular dementia I think - did he have a stroke a while back?

Lalsy · 09/09/2016 21:13

Very very pleased Stropps...your emotions will be all over the place I think.

hattymattie · 09/09/2016 21:21

Stropps - you must be exhausted - and you''re starting off much earlier than I am tomorow. I have the advantage of being an hour ahead of you though (which will be to my disadvantage tomorrow night).

Herbs - so sorry about DDad - how horrible for him poor thing. Your fancy dress costume sounds ace.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 21:22

Amazing job Stropps. Dd looks pleased and not too shellshocked. it will feel v v strange at first - for both of you.
What you need is a great night out with some mates... oh wait!

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/09/2016 21:31

I will try and get there for around six. Will probably be wearing one of my many black dresses.

Friend has just texted me to tell me she is in a bar called Beaver Liquor. Grin

No alcohol tonight. Halo

Auriga · 09/09/2016 21:32

Mixed emotions Stropps? Took DD to first University open day today. Had flashback to visiting the first prospective nursery with her at six months: almost had tantrum in the car park (me, not her) thinking No, you can't have her, she's never leaving home.

Well done on getting her this far Stropps Flowers hope she finds her tribe and her feet.

Home after 14-hour round trip to find dog-sitter had got in a muddle and forgotten DDog, who had been on her own all day. Well, not completely because cleaner, whom she adores, did visit for a few hours. Being a Labrador, she just wagged her tail happily and looked for her dinner when we got in. Neighbours haven't heard a peep out of her all day.

Looking forward to the yakfest Grin don't do glam but promise to wash face.

Rudy Grin but you always look glam anyway (with or without bra on head...)

Auriga Im not sure I'll even get as far as the face wash!

DDad found some old photos... I was so thin! What happened :(

GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 21:42

Mrs S, have you found your invite? Don't end up in Beaver Liquor by mistake...

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/09/2016 21:58

I have found it and I can get a bus all the way there. Grin

I lied about no alcohol. I forgot that I had had two G & Ts and a Martini in the office. Blush

Or I could end up at Chicken Liquor in Brixton. Grin

Auriga · 09/09/2016 22:01

For a moment there Herbs, I thought you were coming to the yakfest in a space suit Blush

GiddyGiddyGoat · 09/09/2016 22:02

What number bus goes from you to me Mrs S?
