I'm 28 and I've never heard of it.
Have I been living under a rock.
What age is its target audience?
Is it for the more mature lady.
All I've seen since I joined is Boden this Boden that.
Am I missing out?

Primark is brilliant for:
scarves, strappy vests that are so long you can use them as cheap maternity ones, billowy silky blouses for fat days, really trendy shoes for a girls night out, clutch bags and sunglasses.

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 18/08/2016 12:51

It was a metaphor, squoosh. (My predictive text wanted to make that "squish"! How amusing.)

squoosh · 18/08/2016 12:52

There, there.

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 18/08/2016 12:53

Nice try. Epic fail, though!!!

candykane25 · 18/08/2016 12:53

I buy Boden denim it's good quality.

I'm 42 and never heard of it until I came on MN. It's an online shop. Why would I have heard of it?

My friends who aren't MNetters don't wear it.

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 18/08/2016 12:53

Are you old or a mum or a combo? That patting thing is confusing. Lol

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 18/08/2016 12:55

So only the mumsnet brigade wear Boden or know of it!? Weird.

Fanfeck · 18/08/2016 12:56

Oh my god I thought Boden was an MN middle class joke thing like Tarquin and naice ham!!

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 18/08/2016 12:57

If you read the quality Sundays, online or otherwise, you cannot have escaped Boden. It is lifestyle and aspirational clothing. Their catalogues used to be fab.

squoosh · 18/08/2016 12:58

Aspirational for some no doubt. Frumpsville for others.

squoosh · 18/08/2016 13:00

This foursome are weeping on the inside.

I've never heard of Boden ....
squoosh · 18/08/2016 13:00

Especially the woman in the Sound of Music curtain dress.

Fanfeck · 18/08/2016 13:02

Aspirational clothing 😂

DelicatePreciousThing1 · 18/08/2016 13:02

Boden is ok but I take all the points about poorer quality of late, some weird sizing and high prices for what it is. Joules is a cliche, though, and sort of pretendy-Barbour lifestyle. White Stuff is awful and tunic-ridden. Too many women of a certain age with grey, mannish hair shop there.

Runningupthathill82 · 18/08/2016 13:03

Oh god squoosh that ad is horrific! It encapsulates in one picture why I really dislike Boden.

ElspethFlashman · 18/08/2016 13:04

Lol at Sound of Music dress.

And those shorts! I had them when I was 7!

WhatTheActualFugg · 18/08/2016 14:07

Delicate you are coming across as horribly judgemental.

Boden might be aspirational to a homeless person. What with it being clean and warm and all that. Hmm

I doubt very much anyone else is aspiring to wear Boden.

What a weird notion. Clothes is clothes.

Usedandabusedww · 18/08/2016 14:39

Give me Zara/H&M over that overpriced Boden rubbish anyday.

chough · 18/08/2016 16:05

I can't be doing with the e- mails from Johnnie, when I haven't placed an order for a while: it need only be a few weeks, and it's all, "We miss you", "Have we said something to upset you?"...
A while ago, he was reminiscing about things we'd done together during the time that I'd been a customer: "Remember that holiday in Cornwall, when you wore your painterly casual jersey dress?" ...
The litany of items of clothing mentioned which I'd purchased over the years only served to remind me how much money I'd wasted.

PotatoBread · 18/08/2016 17:32

That 'have we done something to upset you?' Email makes me clench.

Ipigglemustdie · 18/08/2016 18:07

I never heard of them till I went to work for them. Now I die a little inside whenever I see the overpriced made in china multicoloured spotty shite. Sad

Expellibramus · 18/08/2016 19:44

Why, were they not a good company to work for?

chough · 18/08/2016 19:55

Ooh, Ipiggle, Johnnie will be upset about that.
He's rather sensitive.

EmpressTomatoKetchup · 18/08/2016 19:57

Oh that ad linked to up thread!😆

Ipigglemustdie · 18/08/2016 19:59

Its all smiles and happy positive british funness on the outside. Dreadful rates driven sports direct type warehouse on the inside. And the actual cost to make and ship the stuff compared to the rrp is crazy. Even on one of there sales they have every week
